The Wizard of Speed and Time (film)/Trivia
- Actor Allusion: The gate guard at Hollywood Studios is played by the actor who was "Oddjob" in Goldfinger, and at one point he throws his hat.
- Acting for Two: Jittlov is not only the Wizard in the "Speed" segment, but the judge who gave the Wizard a score of 9.7.
- He's also the torch-carrier.
- In the stunt driving shots from the car-chase scene, Pluto, the police dog in the back seat, was played by Jittlov wearing a coat over his head.
- And then there's veteran Hollywood voice actor Will Ryan as the representatives of every union/guild Mike tries to join.
- Credits Gag: Several.
- The opening credits read "Directed By The Man In The Green Jacket". Mike Jittlov wears a green jacket throughout the film.
- Mike Jittlov is credited as being played by "The Wizard". The Wizard is credited as "himself".
- Digital Piracy Is Okay: The only official releases of The Wizard of Speed and Time were on laserdisc and VHS circa 1989-1990 (from which Jittlov received little or no royalties). However, there is an ISO image of a simple DVD version of the film floating about in torrent and other forms on the Net, the use and distribution of which Jittlov encourages and endorses.
- Hey, It's That Guy!:
- Tubbs is a cop. (Philip Michael Thomas in fact owes his role in Miami Vice to this film, which was originally shot in 1983. When asked by producers if he had ever played a police officer, he replied "Yes, I was a cop in a feature film." Which got him the job.)
- Shahna is the assistant to the producer of the Dr. Magic TV movie. (In fact, one of her posters -- the one that's not topless -- can be seen on the wall of her office in her scene.) This was Angelique Pettyjohn's last role before she died of cancer.
- That guy with the mustache at the garage sale? Forrest J. Ackerman.
- All the Hollywood union guys are the same man -- veteran voice artist Will Ryan.
- Johnny is the lead choreographer.
- The IRS Chief is Ward Kimball, one of Disney's "Nine Old Men".
- Steve Shostakovich is veteran composer John Massari.
- Oddjob is a studio gate guard, who throws his hat in frustration.
- Real Life Relative: Mike Jittlov's mother and brother appear as themselves.
- Shout-Out: In Angelique Pettyjohn's scene as Dora Belair, the assistant to the producer of the Dr. Magic movie, there is a poster on the wall of her in-costume as her cult favorite Star Trek character, Shahna from the episode "The Gamesters of Triskelion".
