40 Days and 40 Nights is a 2002 film directed by Michael Lehmann and starring Josh Hartnett, Shannyn Sossamon, Paulo Costanzo, and Vinessa Shaw.

Matt Sullivan (Hartnett) is a skirt-chasing guy who makes a bet with his two friends: That for the period of Lent, he'll give up sex entirely, up to and including keeping himself company. Things go a bit awry when he meets Erica (Sossamon), the girl of his dreams, soon after.
