Basic Trope: A network starts giving a show lots of attention.

  • Straight: Alice and Bob becomes a hit, and so the network starts heavily hyping up new episodes and airing it more often.
  • Exaggerated: After Alice and Bob airs one season and gets consistently good reception, the network makes it so half of their lineup is purely Alice and Bob.
  • Downplayed: The network occasionally hypes up new episodes, but not much.
  • Justified:
    • The show is great, and one complaint is that it's not shown very much; the network is trying to solve that problem.
    • Alice and Bob contains hundreds of episodes, which make it less time to go through the series.
  • Inverted: Screwed by the Network
  • Subverted: After about a week of being hyped up, Alice and Bob abruptly loses its extra advertising.
  • Double Subverted: But later it starts up again.
  • Parodied': Alice and Bobs Show Within a Show Tales of Tropeville is the only thing shown on the network.
  • Deconstructed: Tired of having Alice and Bob being shoved in their face constantly, viewers stop watching the network's shows.
  • Reconstructed: Viewers put up with the constant exposure and manage to legitimately enjoy the show.
  • Zig Zagged: The network alternatively does and does not promote Alice and Bob too much.
  • Averted: Alice and Bob is given normal promotion.
  • Enforced:
    • "We need to make sure everyone sees this great show!"
    • Alice and Bob are part of a syndication package, that requires the show to be aired multiple times during the day.
  • Lampshaded: "Alice and Bob again?!"
  • Invoked: Colonel Rup T. finds Alice and Bob horrible, so he deliberately starts advertising it too much in order to eventually get it canceled.
  • Exploited: Advertisers start rushing to sell their ads to the network so they can make huge profit.
  • Defied: The network refuses to advertise shows extensively.
  • Discussed: "Man, why do they keep showing Tales of Tropeville all the time?"
  • Conversed: "Here's another Alice and Bob marathon. Let's see how long it takes 'till the Internet complains."
  • Played for Laughs: Tales of Tropeville starts getting marathons for increasingly inane reasons, beginning with a "Christmas Marathon" and going all the way up to "Non-Holiday Day Marathon".
  • Played for Drama: ???
  • Plotted a Good Waste: ???
