Hype Backlash: While the author tend to suffer from this in incredible levels, portrayed as a quasi messianic master writer/artist (especially from the old generation fans), several of his works (like watchmen and V from Vendetta) are extremely hurt from this mainly by the reason beneath. It can come as a very sour dissapointment and with the usual response of subtle (or not so subtle) superiority disdain of "too inmature to handle it" of his fans, can let to either fierce indifference to downright hostility.
