The only way I can see a connection between Dirty Pair and TV Tropes

In a interview to Gizmodo back in 2010, Fast Eddie mentions being in Internet forums since the early 1990s. Back in the early 1990s, Undocumented Features, a sub-genre of Dirty Pair fanfics, began to be created. I can only presume the stealthy reference to Dirty Pair is that Eddie also became involved in the anime fanfic fandom back then because he was a fan of the series and of those fanfics.

Including some very obtuse reference only a few people would get seems to be his style. A lot of Early Trope names were named after characters instead of something it could give clue to outsiders or even tropers about the concept.

It reflects very well the "cult" structure early Tv Tropes had, with internal codewords almost impossible to understand to those outside the cult.

Mind you, I only read a Tv Tropes article for the first time in 2012. I am deducing based on everything people told me about the site. I wasn't there.

Just as a heads up, the Wikipedia link to their Tapatalk article has been deleted since March 2019.
