  • According to Dwight Little an interview, the movie making crew studied real anacondas, rattlesnakes, and all kinds of serpents to come up with the Borneo anaconda's eyes, teeth, scales, and palettes.
  • The Bloody Mary was designed specifically for the movie, it was made by old tires, plastic, and whatever can be salvaged. Like the snakes, the Bloody Mary is her own character.
  • California Doubling: According to "Special Effects Toolbox Creating Anaconda" makings, New Zealand doubles for the Mendranag river and some of the other scenes.
    • Averted. The crew used the Kalimatan Mangrove Forest for filming, the forest is located in Indonesia.
  • This was Hollywood's fist movie to have its premier in Fiji.
  • The score, by Nerida Tyson-Chew, was nominated for Best Soundtrack Album in Australia's 2005 Screen Music Awards.

Goofs:

  • In one scene, despite that the revolver is not rusted, it jams after firing two rounds.
  • The infamous "Stone Spider, is actually a golden silk orb weaving spider and is harmless to humans.
  • In the beginning scene, a Borneo tribesman was hunting a tiger, which were extinct on Borneo for 11,000 years.
  • Bill noticed and announces that the "Hard Drive's ruined." The destroyed device was an ASUS 52x CD-ROM drive.
  • Before the Bloody Mary goes over the waterfall, you can see the film crew hidden in the mist.
  • Crocodiles are attracted by splashing water, unlike the movie croc, who hunts by smelling blood.
  • Most of the characters references and even talk about traveling "up river", when actually they're going down river. Even after going over a waterfull.
  • In the Wexel Hall meeting, the doctors mention that the Blood Orchid lays dormant for seven years and then blooms for six months. But some of the slides in the presentations reads seven years, then six weeks. Later on in the film, the bloom time was change to six weeks.
  • When Ben resurfaces, there's blood all over him, but when the aquatic snake was thrashing him in the air, thee's no blood.
  • The anaconda, just straight up eats Gordon. Real anacondas constricts their prey, even though its not putting up a fight.
