Andalia: The Great Storm

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Andalia: The Great Storm is a play-by-post Role Play on TV Tropes' forums. It takes place in the original world of Andalia. The story so far is about Prince Raize and those who join him on his quest to stop the demon army headed by Tabarach. To do this, Raize must acquire the cursed sword, Zero Edge.

Andalia can be found here.

Tropes used in Andalia: The Great Storm include:
  • Aborted Arc: A few.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Anything made from starsteel.
    • Also, Garth's Cat Claw weapons. Mainly because they are breaking the sound barrier and they are 50% star steel
  • Acquired Poison Immunity: Eyes is much more resistant to normal poisons due to his long experience with them.
  • And I Must Scream: Dante is fully aware while possessed by Argageres.
  • Anticlimax Boss: Belvin, Gaille's brother who was built up a good deal, went down very quickly.
  • Apologetic Attacker: The Black Knight as he attempts to keep Gaille from harming Lady Snede (or herself) as the latter tries to arrest Prince Raize.
  • BFS: Zero Edge, Flare Quasar, and Dante's sword, Zanpakuto
  • Bi the Way: Gaille.
  • Big Bad: Tabarach
  • Big Damn Heroes: Stephen's appearing to kill the chimera.
  • Big Good: Prince Raize
  • Canon Immigrant: Kyrio Streika, Matthew Streika's father, shows up here before he shows up in New Dawn and helps to defeat Seiskelot.
  • Celibate Heroine: Kiera. Type 5. Her fiance turned out to be a five thousand year old vampyre lord. He'd had a Heel Face Turn, and stuck with it until one night he couldn't help himself, and fed on a little girl, about age five. Then he remembered Evil Feels Good.
    • May or may not be forming a new relationship with Dante. Turns out to be "not" given how recent developments have made any further interaction between them next to impossible.
  • Cool Sword: Zero Edge and Flare Quasar.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Vallegrave's curse increased Dante's strength and stamina every time he wakes. It also slowly adds the Seven Deadly Sins and corrupts him.
  • Dark Secret: Sakkaku is hiding something other than his relation to the Assassin's Guild.
  • Debut Queue: As per standard in online role plays.
  • Demonic Possession: It happens. Most notably, Dante.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • Zero Edge killed Tabarach's wife. Now he wants to wipe out humanity.
    • Argageres (and Vallegrave by proxy) broke Dante's bottle of scotch. He now seeks revenge.
  • Drunk with Power: Raize, slightly. He's mostly cracking under pressure, but he refuses to acknowledge that he could possibly be wrong, and backs up his actions with his royal authority and accusations of treason and saying that the other person, specifically Lady Snede, was the mad one.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Tabarach, Argageres, and all demons. The entity that is the source of magic as well.
  • Enigmatic Minion: Geist, the mysterious archer who showed up and tried to kill Raize, but then betrayed his own side for another one, and apparently is furthering his own goals.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Kasuga was horrified when she learned what Garth was doing to some kids in order to escape.
  • Fan Nickname: ArgaDante for Dante's possessed form.
  • Faux Action Girl: Gaille and Taysa. Neither of them have done anything noteworthy in battle after the first town.
  • Fighting From the Inside: Dante.
  • Flash Step: Garth does this, and shows why such a power can be abused to hell. Not that it helped him against Ashley.
  • Genre Savvy: Dante again.
  • Grand Theft Me: Argageres on Dante, when possessing him.
  • The Hero: Prince Raize at first.
  • Hitchhiker Heroes
  • Humanoid Abomination: The Seer looks like a human, but its apparently got skeletal limbs, and one glance at it, and you can tell something is seriously off about him.
  • Hunter of His Own Kind: Sakkaku hunts down mages.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: Prince Raize had to burn down that city. The Plague would have turned all of the residents into demonic beings and would have spread wildfire otherwise.
  • 'I Know You're in There Somewhere' Fight: Kiera and Possessed Dante but only at the very end. Until He hurt Gaille, Kiera didn't really care what was going on. She just wanted to get the fight over with and find a place to be alone for a while to calm down.
  • Idiot Hero: Prince Raize.
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Kalein.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Argageres, as soon as he appeared in the sky, and destroyed a whole damn town in one blast, you knew the bad guys were serious. Up until then we only had Kalein and his ineffectual creations. Not even a Dragon he created could stop the heroes. There was some funny stuff and some Fan Service from the cast. But then a giant pile of disgusting intestines fly in, its named Argageres. It can influence the undead very heavily and turn them from rotting corpses into pure, unfiltered horrors. After that, he makes Dante demonic, and causes a Zombie Apocalypse in the Iron Mountains. The heroes start showing signs of being a Dysfunction Junction and try to kill each other one after the other. Dante is overcome by Wrath. Kiera had finally had enough of Raize "doing what he had to for the good of his people as a whole" and tried to arrest him for crimes against the people. And then this all leads into a story arc which is more in line with Lovecraftian horror than fantasy. One hell of a doozy of a Knight of Cerebus.
  • Jerkass: Jarl mainly. Dante can also have his moments.
  • The Lancer: Either Sakkaku or Kiera
  • Lightning Bruiser: Dante when his strength and speed charms are activated or in his possessed form.
  • Living Bodysuit: Dante.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Brìghde is this for Sakkaku to a degree. She can be very serious when needed and Sakkaku is still cold towards most people.
  • Master of the Mixed Message: Kiera. At least Dante thinks so anyway.
  • Meaningful Name: Sakkaku is Japanese for "illusion".
  • The Nicknamer: Dante gives nearly everyone a nickname.
  • The Plague: Tabarach has manufactured a highly contagious one that turns humans into demonic minions very quickly. He seems to be planning something given the fact that he doesn't simply unleash it in several different places.
  • Professional Killer: The Assassin's Guild.
  • Psycho for Hire: Garth, who is in the job of a planner and a killer in order to essentially mess with everyone and fulfill his own demented goals. He also takes a special joy in circling his "prey" like a shark and launching super fast attacks.
  • Purple Eyes: Dante has them.
  • Running Gag: The uselessness of Sakkaku's kunais.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Thanks to Vallegrave's curse, each one is slowly being added to Dante's personality.
  • Shout-Out: Dante's sword is named Zanpakuto.
  • Sliding Scale of Anti-Heroes: Sakkaku is a Type IV, Dante is a Type III, and Prince Raize is a Type I after seeing Possessed Dante's power.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Dante again.
  • Stupid Evil: Leo, a berserk idiot who has chosen to side with the likes of a Complete Monster, a Hidden Agenda Villain duo, and the Enigmatic Minion among them. All of whom are leagues more powerful than he is.
  • Tall, Dark and Snarky: Once again, Dante.
  • The Tease: Brìghde is this towards Sakkaku. She uses words though, since, given his stances on nudity, he wouldn't be effected by anything else.
  • Triang Relations: Type 4, between Gaille, Raize, and Taysa.
  • Tsundere: What Sakkaku is slowly becoming towards Brìghde and a select few.
  • Unskilled but Strong: Dante is currently the worst swordsman in the group. He's nothing without his charms.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Taysa, to Raize, after he burns down a city to stop the Lich Lords' plan.
    • Kiera and Taysa to Raize for wanting to kill Dante.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: ArgaDante to Zachaia. She doesn't die though.
  • You're Insane!: Kiera to Raize after stopping him from killing Dante.
