  • Banned in China: Due to Belgium's law being against in-app purchases and lootboxes, Nintendo decided to end the game for that region starting from August 27, 2019. Note that this extends to the game's own playability, not just store availability, making it pretty much a true region lock for that country.
  • Milestone Celebration:
    • The 1st anniversary:
      • The first half of November 2018 features special log-in rewards in the form of Leaf Tickets (10 per day, for a total of 150). Meanwhile, the second half features first anniversary tiles and gold treats.
      • The game's icon and log-in background are modified accordingly to celebrate this anniversary.
      • Isabelle's Party-Prep Project is the tie-in gardening event.
      • New terrains fitting the theme are added.
      • Several instances of Gifts for All, which are the first anniversary middle terrain, the first-anniv. cake stand, K.K. Slider's prize guitar, and the first anniv. music box. And that's not counting the ones from the Stats Quiz.
      • A brand new Goals system is implemented, called seasonal event. During such event, the player can obtain special materials by completing certain event goals. Accumulating enough amount of said material before the current month ends will reward the player items.
      • A Memory associated with this event becomes available. Unlocking it requires, among other things, the first anniv. music box mentioned above.
      • There is also a Scavenger Hunt event tied to this celebration.
      • Fishing Tourney #8 is tied to this celebration as well, featuring gold recolors of some of the Saltwater Shores fish.
      • Isabelle's Slideshow special furniture and her fortune cookie items debut in this anniversary. Not to mention, Marshal's, Hopkins's, Rosie's, and Filbert's cookies are reissued for a short time. The very first fortune cookie featuring more than one animal as the main focus (in this case, Chrissy and Francine), the Dazzling Duo Cookie, debuts mid-November 2018.
      • Meanwhile, at Twitter, the Stats Quiz is held for a few days, featuring quizzes related to the stats taken from ALL players (for example, the most often caught fish). Regardless of the users' answers, all players will get clothing featuring the item based on the "correct answer." (though those who datamined or followed the datamining logs will not be surprised at the result anyway)
      • Players are given an opportunity to purchase the First Anniversary Pack from November 21, 2018 to December 4, 2018. Not only players will get Leaf Tickets as usual from purchase (albeit in a much higher value due the +365 bonus), but also a sea throw net, a river throw net, a jar of honey, a pack of fertilizer, and a request ticket.
    • The 2nd anniversary:
      • Like the first anniversary, it has 15 days of Leaf Ticket log-in rewards. The other half of November 2019, meanwhile, is dedicated to Anniversary Outfit Gifts, as well as past fortune cookies and a special furniture dedicated to Giovanni.
      • Its seasonal event involves collecting, of course, second-anniversary candles, with its spotlight prize being the second-anniversary cake.
      • Isabelle once again hosts the anniversary garden event, in this case called Isabelle's Double Dazzle.
      • The Thanks 2 You Pack is available for purchase.
      • The Royal Party Collection makes their debut.
      • New fortune cookies making debut: Skye's Lavish Ball Cookie and Bree's Boutique Cookie.
      • Regal terrain set added, each priced at 100 Leaf Tickets.
      • Its Fishing Tourney is themed after Blue Jazz.
      • Its scavenger hunt is called All-Natural Scavenger Hunt.
      • Certain older special furniture like K.K. Slider's chair becomes available for reissue crafting. Related to this, Reissue Rally Packs become available for purchase.
      • Speaking of reissues, there are multiple instances of reissue crafting events, including first anniversary items.
      • A regal-themed wall and floor collection makes their debut.
      • The second set of Animal Apparel Collection makes their debut.
      • A special Harvest Festival event takes place in late November.
      • The introduction of the Pocket Camp Club, a paid membership service that offers two plans, allowing picking an animal friend to assist with requests and events, or getting five free fortune cookies per month and access to the warehouse feature to store furniture and clothing items.
  • No Export for You: This game can be downloaded from the official app stores as long as the player lives in one of these countries.
  • Shout-Out:
    • One of the gardening events is Zipper's Wonderland Event.
    • The Nintendo Switch and the game-exhibit monitor furniture can depict either Filbert wielding a shovel on a mountainous region (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild), Lloid with an outstretched spring arm (ARMS), Isabelle as Mario throwing Cappy (Super Mario Odyssey), or Rosie equipped with a Splattershot (Splatoon 2).
    • One of the rare furniture items obtainable from Tommy's fortune cookie is the Isabelle Scooter.
    • Android users can get a rainbow pinwheel from a Flower Festival event. Its appearance invokes the Google Photos app icon.
      • Not to mention, the two rainbow items (pinwheel and bike) are based on the real thing.
    • Bunnie's fortune cookie items are themed after the tale of the Little Red Riding Hood.
    • Among the premium items offerred during the sixth Gyroidite Scavenger Hunt (which is the Holiday Mode version in December) include the reindeer hat and the red nose, allowing the player to dress up as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
    • A more subtle one is from Apple's Glazier Cookie, which considering her name and some of the items (stained-glass apple lamp, stained-glass bed, stained-glass mirror), is a Shout-Out to the Snow White fairy tale.
    • The event-only Mario wallpaper costs 1,985 Bells to craft, 1985 being the year the first Super Mario Bros. game was first released.
    • Skye's Lavish Ball Cookie is themed after the Cinderella tale.
  • Urban Legend of Zelda: Since Katrina's fortune tent was introduced, players began scrambling to find out any possible inner workings behind her fortune telling, as it is one of the very few special furniture to provide a unique reaction other than mere casual conversations with the character involved (Brewster's Coop allows the player to get coffee, but unlike her, this mechanic has been already known to not affect gameplay since his debut in Wild World). Unlike the main games she appears in, Katrina's fortune hints in this game are made vague, mentioning casual words/phrases such as "surfing", "new wave music", and the like instead of being straightforward with the clothing item/theme the player needs to wear to increase their luck. However, others say that this, like Brewster, may be just an intentional throwback to the main games.
  • What Could Have Been: Had Pocket Camp not delayed, it would have been released along with the Welcome amiibo update for New Leaf. The latter game would allow obtaining special furniture from linking it with the former.
