I have at my command an entire battle group of the Imperial Guard. Fifty regiments, including specialized drop troops, stealthers, mechanized formations, armored companies, combat engineers and mobile artillery. Ervin Hekate: B-better that this depot and every Imperial life in it had fallen than I disobeyed your order?

Vhotin: As the Emperor is my judge... Yes.
Titanicus, Warhammer 40,000

Year 936 of the Tenth Millennium of His Rule

The hive world of Derondii withholds its annual tithes and the Death Korps of Krieg are deployed to act as the honor guard of Departmento Munitorium investigation team. After the Imperial officials are hanged, the Death Korps deploy in the towering mountains that overlook the main hive. Several artillery and siege companies begin to bombard the hive spires and the inhabitants are gunned down mercilessly as they try to break out from the besieged city.

After ten years of relentless shelling, the hive is reduced to rubble and dust, two years after all signs of life from the hive ceased and five years after the hive issued its unconditional surrender.
