Auto Erotica/Playing With
Basic Trope: Two characters have sex in a vehicle.
- Straight: Alice and Bob have sex in a car.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice and Bob's car sex is so wild that the car later needs new tires, shocks, and windows.
- Alice and Bob have sex while the car is moving. (Bonus points if one of them is driving!)
- Justified: The two characters are in the mood and nowhere near a private bed, so they opt for the next best thing--namely, the backseat.
- Inverted:
- Alice and Bob channel their urges into a mutual passion: auto repair.
- Two vehicles have sex in a character.
- Subverted:
- Alice and Bob park their car and decide to play cards.
- Alternatively, an onlooker sees the car rocking and hears enthusiastic shouting, but it turns out that Alice and Bob are listening to the radio and have just won the lottery.
- Double Subverted: An officer finds Alice and Bob playing cards in the car. When the officer decides nothing bad is going on and walks away, Alice and Bob decide to have sex anyway.
- Parodied:
- Alice and Bob go to buy a new car. They have to kick out people having sex in the first one they look at.
- Alternatively, Alice and Bob go to buy a new car. Their idea of "test drive" is to have sex in the car and promptly buy the most comfortable one.
- Deconstructed: Alice and Bob try to get into position in the backseat, but the cramped space and itchy seat covers kill the mood.
- Reconstructed: Alice and Bob are in a van, and there is more than plenty of room for nookie.
- Zig Zagged:
- Alice has A Date with Rosie Palms in her car.
- Alternatively, all the audience and the other characters know is that Alice and Bob were alone in a vehicle together. Did They or Didn't They? ensues, with enough evidence presented to support either side.
- Averted: Alice and Bob don't have sex in the car.
- Enforced: The writers believe that the audiences will expect to see some nookie should the two romantic leads end up secluded in the backseat of a car.
- Lampshaded: "Tell me, do you always keep condoms in your glove box?"
- Invoked: "We're in my car, and since we've got nothing better to do..." (Wink wink)
- Defied: Alice and Bob avoid car sex because it just wouldn't be special.
- Discussed: "Alice and Bob drove to Make-Out Point last night and lost their virginities to each other in the backseat."
- Conversed: "Ugh, a car just isn't a good place for making love. They could have easily found a bed somewhere."
