Bath Kick

A Bath Kick is a position a female character does when they are taking a bath which is extending her leg to its full length. Basically, it is a form of Fan Service during bath scenes to Show Some Leg as per the Rule of Sexy. This is also used when a character is washing her leg in the tub. Not only has it been used as a bathing position, but it has also been used as an attack.

  • A woman does one in a Calgon Bubble Bath commercial from 1980.
  • A woman does one in a Hahn Beer commercial from Australia.
  • An ad for The Geena Davis Show more or less consisted of one from the title actress.
  • Ads for women's razor blades often have the model doing this to shave.


Anime & Manga

  • In Burn Up Scramble, the heroine Rio Kinezono is shown in the bathtub doing a bath kick in the closing credits to each episode.
  • In the first episode to Canaan, Liang Qi does a bath kick in the tub
  • Honey does this in a bubble bath in the opening credits to the original Cutey Honey and New Cutey Honey.
  • Junko Asagiri done in the 11th episode of Desert Punk.
  • Mimi does it in the 15th episode of Digimon Adventure.
  • In Dirty Pair: Project Eden, Kei is shown doing this in a bubble bath. Carson D. Carson then falls into Yuri's tub, which startles her. She does the bath kick as an attack and launches him into Kei's tub.
  • Someone does it in Chapter 59 of Yume De Aetara.
  • One is done in a bubble bath in the third chapter of Love Monster
  • Colonel Felme of Zoids Genesis does a bubble bath kick in episode 33. She is also seen doing a bath kick in the third ending credits theme.
  • Sarasa of Legend of Basara does one in a Hot Spring in episode 2
  • Blair does one in the first episode of Soul Eater where she has her scrub-brush scrub her leg. Her leg is more extended out in the manga version.
  • Sailor Moon
    • Ami (Sailor Mercury) is seen doing one while reading a book in the bathtub at the beginning of "Sailor Moon SuperS: Ami's First Love".
    • Esmeraude does one in the 80th episode.
  • Lupin III
    • Fujiko Mine does one in the sixth episode of the original series.
    • She also does one while taking a bubble bath in Lupin III: Alcatraz Connection.
  • Hakufu Sonsaku from the Ikki Tousen series does one in the first episode of Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians.
  • Kagome Higurashi does one in the 69th episode of Inuyasha.
  • One is done by Shinunora in the sixth episode of Gun Frontier.
  • Ple Elpeo does one in her bubble bath scene in episode 18 of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ and in the 25th episode.
  • Grenadier episode 11 has Rushuna doing one in a bubble bath.
  • Nadie does one in the 7th episode of El Cazador de la Bruja.
  • One Piece
    • Kalifa does one in a bubble bath in episode 293 and in the manga version in chapter 407.
    • Nami does a literal bath kick in the eleventh movie, when Luffy is frantically searching around for is hat in the Sunny's bathtub, as Nami is taking a bath.
  • Birdy does one in the first episode of Birdy the Mighty Decode season 2.
  • Ranma One Half
    • Female Ranma has done it a couple of times in manga title artworks, as well as an animated opening that included said artwork.
    • Shampoo does it deliberately to entice Ryōga when disguised as "Pid" (or "Pido-chan") of the "Cupid Sisters" (together with Ranma, who was "Kew", or "Cu-chan").
  • Senbei Norimaki does one in the 126th episode of Doctor Slump.
  • Winry in at least the manga version of Fullmetal Alchemist.
  • The title card to the third episode of Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt shows Panty doing this.
  • Seen at the beginning of the bath scene in the second episode of Murder Princess.
  • The 201st chapter of Fairy Tail shows Cana Alberona doing this.
  • Yohko is seen doing one in the 6th episode of Devil Hunter Yohko as she lays in the tub talks on the phone.
  • Pink the protagonist to the Akira Toriyama one-shot of the same-name is seen doing one in her bath scene near the beginning.


Comic Books

  • Sage does one in her bubble bath in New Exiles issue 5.
  • Catwoman too, in Catwoman: When in Rome.


Films -- Live-Action

  • Qi Shu sits in the bathtub and bath kicks Vicki Zhao in So Close.
  • Honey does it in the bubble bath scene at the beginning of the live-action Cutey Honey movie.
  • Doris Day and Rock Hudson both do it [dead link] in Pillow Talk.
  • The film City of Angels has a woman doing one.
  • Julia Brendler does one while shaving her legs in the German movie Der Typ, 13 Kinder & ich.
  • A woman does one in Ghost Rock.
  • Jane Russell's character does this in The Tall Men.
  • In Bride of Chucky, Jennifer Tilly's character manages to fend off Chucky with this. Unluckily for her, she left the television on.

  • In episode 50 of Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger, Umeko does a bath kick in her bubble bath.
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    • Glory in season 5, surrounded by blindfolded minions.
    • Also in season 4 when Faith takes a bath in Buffy's body....
  • Seen in The X-Files episode "Chinga," in which Scully kicks the bathroom door closed while in her bubble bath to ignore the phone ringing... or really to ignore Mulder, who had been calling her roughly every five seconds while she's on her vacation.
  • Yvonne Strahotski in Chuck, to "remind Chuck what he'll be missing."


Music Videos

  • Lady Gaga is briefly seen doing this while taking a bath in the video for "Bad Romance". Note that she is fully clothed while taking said bath, complete with shoes.
  • One of the Salt n Pepa ladies does it in their "What a Man" video.

  • In the mid-nineties, Sunny would usually be shown doing this at the beginning of each WWF program, saying in a eductive voice; "Viewer indiscretion...*giggle*...I mean discretion, is advised."

  • A cutscene in God Hand has Olivia in a bubble bath doing a bath kick.
  • Every Sim in The Sims games does one to wash their leg when they take a bath.

  • In the Superman the Animated Series episode "Warrior Queen", Maxima is being bathed by her servants and lifts her leg up high for her servants to give her a pedicure.
  • Him does this in The Powerpuff Girls when he is contemplating his plans to deal with the girls.
  • A lot of Betty Boop merchandise has her in a bubble bath doing a bath kick.
