  • In one episode of the animated series, the Rogues Gallery had tricked Beetlejuice into falling apart (literally, that is). They had to recover his body parts before sunset or he would cease to exist. Finally, they get to where the final villain, Mr. Big (who's actually a midget) is holding his heart. Mr. Big gets Lydia in a trap and watches as Betelgeuse is turning into goo, until Lydia pulls a Big Damn Heroes moment, throws the heart into the pool and Beetlejuice turns back to normal, proceeding go Heroic Second Wind on his ass. And, you guessed, it is awesome.
  • In Real Life, the cartoon won the daytime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Children's Program in 1990 (tied with The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh).
