Big Finish
A British company that produces audio dramas, mostly Sci Fi. Not to be confused with Grand Finale.
Their productions include audios for:
- Doctor Who. They use the original actors whenever possible, and guest voices including Anthony Head, Peter Jurasik, and David Tennant[1] have turned up. A number of their writers were hired for the 2005 series recommission and (so far) three new series episodes have had more or less direct audio antecedents: Robert Shearman's episode "Dalek" was heavily adapted from his audio "Jubilee"; and "Rise of the Cybermen / The Age of Steel" draws one of its most powerful scenes (the Doctor speaks with a partially converted Cyberwoman who doesn't understand what has happened to her) from the audio "Spare Parts" (whose author, Marc Platt, got a story credit on the episodes).
- Doctor Who Expanded Universe Spin Offs including:
- Bernice Summerfield
- Sarah Jane Smith
- Gallifrey
- Cyberman
- UNIT
- I, Davros
- Dalek Empire (series 3 of which stars one David Tennant)
- Jago & Litefoot
- Iris Wildthyme
- Doctor Who Expanded Universe Spin Offs including:
- The Tomorrow People.
- Sapphire and Steel
- Dark Shadows
- Judge Dredd and other 2000 AD strips
- The Stargate Verse.
- Sherlock Holmes
- Warhammer 40,000
- The Ciaphas Cain story "Dead in the Water"
They have also produced a radio adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, based on the original novel.
- ↑ though not as the Tenth Doctor, as Big Finish only has the license to the classic series
