Tsukune: No, it's because my roommate always gets to the cafeteria before I do. Ranma: Kurumu, could you get Tsukune free so I can start hurting this guy? —The majority of Ranma and Tsukune's interactions.

Big Human on Campus is a crossover between Rosario + Vampire and Ranma ½ by Black Dragon6.

Ranma gets booted out of Furinkan after dealing with Saffron, and ends up on the bus to a new school called Youkai Academy, meeting a rather timid guy named Tsukune on the way. At least this place can't be worse than Furinkan, right?

Then they discover they're going to a school for monsters. Hilarity Ensues.

Thankfully, this fic doesn't use that tiresome and enraging formula of replacing Tsukune with a character from some other anime. Tsukune and Ranma go to the school together and build up a companionable friendship. Tsukune retains Moka's affections, and Kurumu's as well, but the other girls end up falling for Ranma. The characterizations are believable, the dialogue is entertaining, and we have yet to spot a spelling or grammar error. The characters act much as you would expect them to and it is especially funny to watch Ranma try to convince people he's human while simultaneously destroying every enemy he encounters.

• All-Ghouls School: Youkai Acadamy. Also doubles as an Academy of Adventure where you have to keep on your toes if you don't want to be eaten, incinerated, frozen, cursed, mutilated, blown up or aged up/aged down. Sometimes more than one or all of these can happen to the same person.
• An Ice Person: Mizore

• Anime Catholicism: In-universe example, exaggerated for comedic effect:

Massive stained glass windows dominated the walls, most of them depicting a significantly twisted version of traditional Catholic imagery. Not that most of the occupants knew the first thing about Catholicism or its common fables, but most were fairly certain that the virgin Mary had not given birth to a Cthuloid child and that Saint Peter was not supposed to be a mummy.

• Another Dimension: Where Youkai Acadamy is located. The Netherworlds and the Negaverse are also mentioned.
• Anti-Hero: Any Yokai with an smidge of decency is either type III to V at best.
  • Ranma is somewhere between type II and III.
• Anti-Villain: The Holy Dragon enforcer is a type IV.
• Arrogant Kung Fu Guy: Ranma can be this at times.
• Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: "Ranma Saotome stands accused of three separate counts of assaulting an Enforcer without provocation, one count of possessing an unregistered pet in the dorms, rampant truancy, repeated destruction of public property, and a buddy of mine from class D said that he totally cut in line once during lunch!"
  • Ranma himself also gives a minor list after his first day of classes:

Ranma: I've only been to three classes so far, and one of my teachers is a murderous psycho, the other is a manic-depressive loser on a revenge kick, and my homeroom teacher...*grimaces*...might be a cat.

• • Granted, this is in regards to MOST people's perspectives. For Ranma, it's completely understandable why he places Nekonome in the same catagory as Richard and Jaedite.
• Ascended Extra: Chopper Rikishi is now a main character, where in the manga he was just a monster of the week.
  • Keito was another Monster of the Week who just worked for the Enforcers, was defeated and was never seen again. In this fic she's Kuyo's Dragon and the schemer of the enforcers. Even after the old Protection Committee's defeat, she's still around, planning to take down the heroes from the inside after they allowed her to join the group.
• Attempted Rape: It's implied this is what happened when Tobaki tried to 'take' Ranma. This, plus being an Eldritch Abomination, is why he screams everytime he sees her and refuses to fight her.
• Ax Crazy: Most of the monsters in Youkai Acadamy, but Richard and Jadeite are the kings of this story.
• Badass: This fic is filled with them.
• Badass Crew: The Fight Club and the New Protection Committee.
• Badass Normal: Ranma Saotome, natch.
• Badass Pacifist: Aono Tsukune (at least for now).
• Bad Cop, Incompetent Cop: The Enforcers in this fic are described as not only corrupt but incompetent as well, shown when they didn't see the evidence that it wasn't the girl's section on the dorms when they found female Ranma while looking for the male half. It's so pathetic, that their leader, Kuyo, needs a dictionary to look up the words "investigation" and "integrity".
  • Possibly a bit of Fridge Brilliance: we don't see the characters in Rosario+Vampire going to class all that often, do we? Their education and critical thinking skills may well have atrophied...
• Because You Were Nice to Me: Tsukune's one and only ability and probably the greatest force in the Universe. It's easy to underestimate this until you realize that the world is composed of one half a group of sociopathic, rapist, mass murderous monsters without a smidge of empathy and the other came from a Rumiko Takahashi standard comedy shows just how special Tsukune is. About 90% of the protagonists and side characters are loyal to him because of this.
• Berserk Button: Ranma when someone calls him or implies that he's a monster; He feels insulted that no one believes he could be human and be incredibly strong. To be fair though, almost everyone besides him and Tsukune know that any human that enters Youkai Acadamy would be executed. Plus, Gamaroshi Kouma when he believes someone is treating him like a pet.
  • Jadeite tends to flip out whenever he starts thinking about magical girls. Looking at a stress ball made up to resemble Sailor Moon makes him go feral.
  • Inner-Moka can't stand to think that a puny human like Ranma could be a match for her.
• Betty and Veronica: Moka is Betty to Kurumu's Veronica for Tsukune.
• Big Brother Instinct: Ranma towards Tsukune, and possibly towards Moka, Kurumu and Yukari; it works since Ranma is eighteen years old while the others are around fifteen, except Yukari, who is eleven.
  • Big Sister Instinct: This was definitely the case with Moka and Yukari in the beginning, probaly bordering on a light case of Knight Templar Big Sister since Moka would usually take Yulari's side over Ranma's when they fought.
    • Keito, of all people seems to have genuine affection for Tobaki.
• Big Damn Heroes: Ranma had one when he saved Tsukune and Moka from Kurumu.
• Big Ol' Eyebrows: Besides being a hellhound, this is Kouma's most distinguishable physical trait.
• Black Comedy
• Blood Knight: Rikishi fought Ranma in chapter seven, not because of a grudge, a girl, or any kind of powerful or magical item, like many of the other rivals did; he challenged Ranma because he loved to fight strong opponents. Ranma can also be considered this, much to Moka's chagrin.
• Blue and Orange Morality: One of the cornerstones of the Fic. The author is intent on showing that even though the monsters at Youkai Academy are trying to act human, not all of them are very good at it. Whether it's debating about eating meat that's still alive or the question of murder and/or accessory to murder being illegal, almost everyone at Youkai does things that humans would find strange or downright immoral. It's lampshaded in one chapter that the threat of expulsion from the Student Council doesn't mean much with a claw at your neck.
  • Also discussed by Ranma and Fran. Turns out that it isn't just the monsters who aren't very good at being human.
  • Discussed even more extensively in chapter thirteen, Tsukune is even starting to wonder if his biggest problem is treating everyone like they were humans. Moka however argues that treating others with kindness and respect is universal, not just for humans.
• Boarding School of Horrors: A lot more so than in canon. It's been stated that death is not uncommon in this fic's Youkai Academy; Ranma described the situation as half of the students trying to eat the other half, teachers such as Richard and Jadeite kill their students regularly, and the spider problem (especially the recently released giant spider) has gotten so out of hand that they have also been hunting the inhabitants.
• Bonus Material: Other than 'Guess Ranma's species', 'Meet the Faculty' and End-of-Chapter Omakes, there is a new fic called 'Big Human on Campus: After School' which is essentially a collection of long omakes that would distract from the main story if included.
• Book Dumb: Tsukune, despite having average grades, demonstrates in recent chapters that he is actually pretty cunning, evolving not just into The Strategist, but the True Companions' leader.
• Boy Meets Ghoul
• Brains and Brawn: Tsukune and Ranma respectively seem to fit this trope. The enforcers even lampshade this when explaining why they sent Nagare to dig up more information on Tsukune than Ranma. This however, may be subverted because neither of the two are very book smart (Tsukune having average grades and Ranma's aren't even applicable) but both have shown cunning in their own ways when needed. Tsukune uses his cunning because he is perhaps the weakest of the group and needs to defend himself somehow; plus he actively wants to improve the school. Ranma on the other hand tries to find simple solutions to combat monsters, ie beating them up; however, he has been shown to use his head against opponents like Yukari, Rikishi and Inner-Moka. Also unlike Tsukune, he doesn't necessarily seek to improve Yokai Acadamy and deals with problems as they come to him.
• Bratty Half-Pint: Yukari (though recently she toned it down) and Saffron.
• Bromantic Foil: Ranma and Tsukune are as different as day and night, but they really work well together. In fact, this could probably be the one of the closest friendships you'll ever see in this fic.
• Bunny Ears Lawyer: Tobaki is a surprisingly efficent treasurer despite her numerous faults.
• Butt Monkey: The Holy Dragon Enforcer has so far been killed, beaten up and thrown off a cliff. It's likely his suffering isn't going to end there.
  • Kouma is also showing signs of this.
• Captain Smooth and Vice-Captain Rough: Tsukune and Ranma definitely fit this.
• Cassandra Truth: Ranma's insistence that he's human. He's got a few people that believe it now, but most of the school wouldn't believe he was human even if someone thrust his medical records in their faces.
  • Fran's advice to Ranma, while helpful to him personally, doesn't really do anything for his credibility as he explains that he's a human, just not very good at it yet. Kurumu and most others can't believe he can even say it with a straight face, Kana at least humors him.
• Cat Fight: Mizore and Kana fight over Ranma.
• Catgirl: Nekonome-sensei; much to Ranma's horror.
• Character Alignment: Lampshaded by the Holy Dragon when following Haruo's orders.

Holy Dragon enforcer: The orders came from a superior, and I'm lawful.

• Charles Atlas Superpower: Ranma can go toe-to-toe with some of the worst monsters in the school because he went through Training from Hell for most of his life and he's damn proud of it.
• The Chew Toy: It's like everyone and everything hates Saffron and wants to kill him.
• Chick Magnet: Ranma still attracts women, even if they're monsters, like a magnet attracts iron. Tsukune is bringing up the rear with Moka and Kurumu. It has been revealed that a great way to attract monster girls is to have giant (but no too giant) spiders; it's akin to having puppy dogs in the human world. Guess what type of creature Ranma trained to get rid of any cats on the campus?
• Chivalrous Pervert: Gin
• Cloudcuckoolander: Mizore seems to be developing into one of these, at least in the omake segments. What else do you call someone who, on seeing a decapitated ice statue of a girl, makes a replacement head in the style of a snowman?
• Comedic Sociopathy: Done incredibly well in this fic.
  • Naturally it's done well, given that the author characterized Richard so well. Ranma's impression of Richard is rather spot on...at least in regards to the warlock's 'teaching' style.

Richard's method of instruction was one tenth lecturing, one tenth lab work, and eight tenths bombarding his students with whatever elements he happened to be talking about at the time.

• Covert Pervert: Tsukune, at least around Moka and Kurumu, or as Ranma calls it 'having a Hibiki moment'.

"So wait, does she just sleep on the floor, or do you two-" (Tsukune getting sidetracked upon finding out that Yukari had been crashing in Moka's room for some time)

• • If what Inner-Moka says is true, Outer-Moka has quite the fantasies in the deep recesses of her mind:

"It's boring sitting alone in your head with nothing but your suppressed libido to keep me company," Evil Moka grumbled. As Moka's face flushed, she continued, "by the by, some of the material in these little fantasies of yours are just WAY too advanced for someone of our sexual experience. You're setting yourself up for disappointment. Just FYI."

• Crapsack World: This fic's Youkai Acadamy may seem like this, but it may actually be A World Half Full. There is hardly any order, with students committing murder, rape and who knows what else to each other on a daily basis. The teachers are hardly any help; decent ones like Miss Nekonome sometimes can't help if they wanted to and many are worse than the students like Richard and Jadeite. The Headmaster hardly gives any straight answers plus he's friends with Richard. The Enforcers, Youkai's Student Police force were incompetent at best, corrupt and murderous knight templars at worst. The Student Council was more or less taken hostage by the old Protection Committee. Plus there's the many dangerous non-sentient creatures that prowl the forest and wasteland around the school, and a few places inside the buildings. However despite all of this, Youkai may actually change for the better if the heroes push forward with the New Protection Committee to enforce peace and order. It's a steep uphill battle but it's still worth a shot.
• Crash Into Hello: Tsukune and Moka meet the same way as in the manga and anime.
• Crazy Prepared: Parodied; Jin Kaishuu has a plan for everything, whether it be capturing someone, retreating or having his subordinates cry in terror after said retreat; it's all prepared beforehand.
  • Ranma too, albeit to a lesser extent. He steals objects that might give him an edge against the teachers just in case he ever needs them. Then again, given that his teachers include Richard and Jadeiete...
    • He even justifies taking the Dark Liege's soul shards (he didn't know what they were, but they looked important) is that he'd probably wind up fighting her in some kind of dark castle to save some girl at some point so he figured he'd at least have a trump card in advance.
• Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Richard can hardly be said to be hiding his Badass nature, but he has yet to go at Ranma with all his ability, probably because he finds Ranma so amusing. Even Inner Moka backs down when Richard threatens to get really violent.
  • Recently, after accidentally releasing the seals keeping Saffron's powers in check, Richard reveals that his offensive powers actually exceeds Saffron's, but was forced to retreat due to Saffron's Healing Factor and magical resistance making it so that Saffron healed faster than he could be injured.
• Cry for the Devil: Hilariously mocked with Volos. When he begins to tell his backstory, Ranma complains that he doesn't want to have to go through a flashback segment that will make Volos seem sympathetic.
• Curb Stomp Battle: Ranma defeats Kuyo so easily he assumes he must have been a random mook rather than the head of the Enforcers.
• Cute Monster Girl: The school is filled with them.
• Cute Witch: Yukari
• Da Chief: Tsukune
• Danger Sense: Ranma naturally, he also has a 'Shampoo Sense' for predicting when he's about to be hit by a bicycle out of nowhere, which he uses to dodge Moka's surprise entrance leading to her hitting Tsukune like in the series.
• Darker and Edgier/ Denser and Wackier: Not surprising for this crossover to blend some of the darker aspects of Rosario + Vampire and the zaniness of Ranma 1/2. It could be argued however that this story might actually be a bit darker than Rosario + Vampire with the violence and death of Yokai Academy more apparent. However, the blend of comedy does well to balance it out with Ranma 1/2 style Comedic Sociopathy and downright craziness, that its hard to take it too seriously. There is also the consequence that a lot of the angst from Rosario + Vampire was downplayed or removed.
  • Lampshaded in one of the Omakes, when Kana laments that the story is neglecting the sex and violence from the original work.
• Darkness Equals Death: During the time he was cursed, Ranma was attacked by a grue in the men's restroom when the lights went out.
• Deadpan Snarker: Half the cast, as written by the author. Ranma in particular is the source of a lot of snark, generally at Moka's expense... Though Tsukune isn't afraid to get in on the act as well.
• Death Is Cheap: For Netherworld monsters. Technically, it can't literally be called cheap, since they have to pay cash to return to life.
  • Also Saffron but in this case it's competly justified; first of all, he's a phoenix, and second, it's canon. Although it's being Played for Laughs more in this story...a lot more
• Death Trap: Principle Kuno sets one up for Ranma in anticipation of him challenging his expulsion...he's quite put out that Ranma opted to just walk.
  • Yukari accidentally sets one up for Ranma when attempting to cast a bad luck curse on him during their prank war. The demonic entity that is summoned as a result proceeds to set up a string of 'coincidences' that harms Ranma more than any of the other fights so far. He congratulates her on it, but still thinks it could use some work, and is a little unbalanced by Yukari's perfectly reasonable breakdown following her realization that she almost got him killed.
• Defeat Means Friendship: Played straight with Kurumu and Yukari, downplayed with Kouma and Rikishi and averted with Keito and Inner-Moka (though in Moka's case, the fight was never finished).
• Delinquents: Youkai Acadamy has many; not surprising since it is a monster school. It also seems that the Fight Club is modeling it's curriculum around human world school bullies and fights against the Lawful Evil Enforcers and the Chaotic Evil Monstrels for territory.
• Demoted to Extra: Inner Moka has only had one appearance in this fic.
• Determinator: Ranma hates losing and never backs down from a fight or challenge even if it's against insanely powerful opponents like Richard, Rikishi or Inner-Moka. Even if the challenge is ridiculous like the prank war with Yukari, Ranma won't back down until his opponent is beaten, gives up or (and this hasn't happened in the fic yet) until he is knocked out.
• Deuteragonist: Tsukune. The story focuses on his point of view almost or just as much as Ranma's, but the prologue makes it clear from the beginning that this was mostly a Ranma fic. See The Protagonist below.
• Dirty Coward: A number of enforcers have been shown to be cowardly, usually running away when the cards are not stacked in their favor. Haruo and the netherworld monsters (sans the Holy Dragon) stand out. Riza Wildman lampshaded this by explaining that in the previous semester the Protection Committee fought like bears defending their territory, but now they've become like jackals after battling the Fight Club.
• Distressed Dude: Subverted. Tsukune is often victimized by the monsters at Youkai, so usually Ranma and/or the girls have to help him. In this fic, however, there are many instances where he uses his wits to outsmart his opponents such as when he tricked an enforcer into making cat noises so the spider on Tsukune's head would attack him, or when he tricked Richard into killing another enforcer when it looked like he and his friends were surrendering (he did feel awful about it afterwards though, the enforcer that was killed was THE Token Good Teammate).
• The Driver: The Bus Driver, of course. In this fic however, it is revealed that the bus driver was also the creepy old man at the Cave of Lost Love arc in Ranma1/2. He also does creepy fortunes, runs a magic shop that disappears when the products screw over clients and children's parties.
• Dumb Muscle: What much of the school seems to believe Ranma is to Tsukune.
  • Chopper plays this trope straight; he usually needs someone to explain simple things to him and when investigating Hitomi Ishigami he took what she said about her statue at face value.
• Early-Bird Cameo: Rikishi and Mizore appear much earlier than they did in the manga.
  • Hokuto Kaneshiro is another example, being introduced while the heroes are fighting the enforcers.
• Epic Fail: The whole 'Cities and Cyclists' chapter was just one fiasco after another. Going to the supermarket to get supplies for breakfast had Kouma's lawyer contract cancer, needing Ranma's hippie carpenter to cure him with a chainshaw. Going to the laundramat actually ended with Kouma's lawyer's death and the others had to get out of attending his funeral. The babysitting quest was perhaps the biggest failure of them all; ending with everyone's character except Kurumu's being killed by an 8 year old. It should be noted that Yukari was the GM throughout the entire game, See Killer Game Master below.
• Even Evil Has Standards: Discussed between Ranma and Kouma. While cleaning up the remains of a student council member that Tobaki murdered, Kouma states that Hell has devils, not demons who are on a whole different level of violent. This could be a Shout-Out to the war between the devils (who want rule) and the demons (who want to destroy) in Dungeons & Dragons.
  • Richard would rather be called a 'twisted, sadistic psychopath' than a pervert, since it's so lame.
• The Fair Folk: The Dark Elves that took Kouma's father away could be described as this. Not much is known about them so far but Kouma recalled them stealing souls from Hell after getting past the hellhounds.
  • Hokuto described elves as very unpleasant, whether they are evil or something else is yet to be seen. This may be a bit of Fridge Brilliance on the author's part because in folklore elves and other fairy creatures were not the nice, beautiful, winged humanoids that we see in modern stories. Many are chaotic, dangerous and could be outright evil. If the Lilith Mirror appears later in the story, it would be a case and point. Also how Hokuto described them as not really being monsters may also have to do with how many modern sources don't put elves in the same catergory as monsters. In older stories the behavior of the fair folk, especially towards humans, was not much different from japanese yokai.
• Fan Service: After the exploding golem fiasco, Kurumu's clothes were shredded close to indecency. Inner-Moka, unintentionally, showed a lot of fanservice when she kicked Richard's head off and during her fight with Ranma.
• Fantastic Racism: There is a lot of that at Youkai Academy. The most obvious is that many monsters hate humans and can't believe that they can fight against moderately strong creatures and win. Kurumu had also stated that witches suffer prejudice from monsters because they are very similar to humans; however since Yukari is very annoying and loves pranks, how much they are prejudiced against is debatable. Monstrels also have a bad reputation, where Yukari, of all people, call them abominations. It's implied by Riza Wildman that monsters are generally territorial and suspicious of anyone else, perhaps except those of the same species, so the Fight Club breaks down those boundaries as a rule. However, its also shown that Wildman might dislike vampires as she congratulated Ranma for nearly defeating Inner-Moka.
  • Riza Wildman disliking vampires would probably be due to her interactions with one in her own series and so effectively a Shout-Out in addition to this.
    • If she starts disliking and/or gets bugged by Saffron, then it has to be a Shout-Out
  • Ranma and Tsukune even get a chance to point out to Moka and Yukari that much of what humans are hated for is ignorance as most don't know monsters even exist, and that humans tend to get far worse than they dish out. Notably, witches hate humans for killing dozens of their kind during panicked witch hunts where nobody was sure what was going on while witches very deliberately created the Black Plague which wiped out around a quarter of Europe. Even Yukari can't come up with anything against that argument.
• Fantasy Kitchen Sink: What do expect from a school for monsters?
• Faux Affably Evil: Richard, all the way.
• Flaw Exploitation: Ranma uses this against Rikishi (pulling his arms out of their sockets) and Inner Moka (use of water). Comes with being a practitioner of the Anything-Goes School of Martial Arts.
• Freudian Trio: Ranma (Id), Tsukune (Ego), Moka (Superego).
• Fridge Logic: In universe, Ranma wonders why succubi are endangered, given that by their nature they should have an easy time attracting partners.
• Friend Versus Lover: Played with. The relationship between Ranma, Tsukune and Moka is fairly complex and not always played for laughs. Tsukune sees Ranma and Moka as his best and closest friends (and harbors a crush on the latter) and has to play referee when the two start arguing. Moka doesn't fully trust Ranma because of his arrogant, abrasive and (in her view) violent personality. Ranma preparing to stab her in the heart with a wooden stake and stating he didn't like vampires in Chapter Two could be factors in this. To make things more difficult, it seems that the Inner-Moka hates Ranma and wants nothing more than to put the egotistical martial artist in his place. Ranma, however, no longer has any ill will towards Moka once he realized she will not harm Tsukune. He enjoys teasing Moka because of her passive nature but there is no malice in it, especially when compared how he insulted Akane back home. All-in-All, Ranma considers Moka a friend, and stated to Tsukune that he didn't see why friends couldn't antagonize each other in Chapter Two.
• Friendly Enemy: Between the New Protection Committee and the Fight Club.
• Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: Outer-Moka, much to Ranma and practically everyone else's surprise. Inner-Moka, not so much.
• Gag Boobs: Kurumu; Female Ranma's breasts have been described as big as Kurumu's.
• Gag Penis: Ranma, if Kurumu and Moka's reactions were anything to go by.
• Gender Bender: Ranma, obviously. Moka and Kurumu finding out about it is absolutely hilarious, see entry under Gag Penis.
• Genre Savvy: After Tsukune saves Kurumu, Ranma notes that he probably just got engaged.
• Giant Spiders: The Acadamy has an infestation of giant spiders. Some of which Ranma trains to hunt cats.
• The Glasses Come Off: Parodied with Tobaki; putting on or removing her glasses actually changes her personality.
• Go-Karting with Bowser: In one of the spin-off stories, Inner-Moka instead of trying to kill Ranma like you'd expect when she was finally released in what seemed like ages, played 'Cities and Cyclists' with the other protagonists and was semi-civil.
• Good Angel, Bad Angel: Tobaki's angels are Tsukune (good angel) and Keito (bad angel).
• Good Is Not Nice: Ranma and Kouma.
• Good Old Fisticuffs: Kouma's preferred fighting style while in human form.
• Groin Attack: Subverted when Kurumu kicked the Lantern enforcer between the legs and he wasn't affected. He doesn't have Balls of Steel mind you, he has balls of straw. So she slashed him across the face.
• Guile Hero: Tsukune is a more realistic version of this.
• Half-Human Hybrid: Riza Wildman
• Healing Factor: Chopper Rikishi in this story is able to heal quickly. This is probably a shoutout to Dungeons & Dragons Trolls.
• Heel Face Mole: Keito
• Heel Face Turn: Kurumu nearly killed Tsukune and Moka before Ranma defeated her. She became their ally after Tsukune 'rescued' her from being blasted by Ranma's Moko Takabisha.
• Hell: Where Kouma and his family lived before they were kicked out.
• Hell Hound: Gamaroshi Kouma
• Hero of Another Story: Guile (one of Ranma's spiders) and the other 'chosen' are the protagonists of the second chapter in 'Big Human on Campus: After School'.
• Hero with an F In Good: Most of the new protection committee. They are trying to do their jobs responsibly, they're just... not very good at it.
• Heroic BSOD: Tsukune has one for a short time after he played a part in Richard killing an enforcer who was actually reasonable, non-corrupt and only trying to capture him and his friends under orders without harming them.

Tsukune: Moka, what is it? I'm trying to have an emotional breakdown, here!

• Heroic Comedic Sociopath/ Sociopathic Hero: It's hard to tell which, but this seems to be the school's view on Ranma as they have labeled him a threat to human society due to the aftermath of his fight with Saffron. Moka seems to believe this at least to a degree, at least as per him needing to be told destroying mountains is bad.
• Horny Devils: Kurumu
• Humans Are Cthulhu: To Guile and the rest of Ranma's spiders, humans are actually called gods; to go even further, the monsters in disguise are called 'false gods' and spider monsters like Keito are called 'demigods'.
• Hypocritical Humor: Moka explains to Ranma and Tsukune that she grew to dislike humans because everyone at her human middle school teased her when she said she was a vampire (Ranma and Tsukune aren't exactly surprised). Then she goes on to say how they have no idea what it's like for your peers to casually disregard a part of you and not believe what you were. To Ranma. He doesn't even need to say anything before Moka catches herself.
• Immortality: Saffron can heal from injuries like a broken limbs with a little time, but sometimes his whole body is destroyed in very graphic (and humorous) ways so he is resurrected in a egg. Thankfully, instead of turning into a baby, he goes back to being a preteen every time he dies thanks to the seal placed on him.
• Ignored Confession: Ranma, about being human, regularly.
• In Harm's Way: Ranma's attitude in the beginning as it takes place at the end of his manga series (but at the start of Rosario Vampire) and he can't stand the return to the mundane and dreary life of school without people trying to kill him. He gets his wish soon after.
• Insane Troll Logic: According to one member of the Protection Committee, anyone who would confess to a crime (Especially something as heinous as being human) must be mentally disturbed, and therefore the confession is valueless. Strangely, the person making this statement is a Yeti, not a Troll.
• Insufferable Genius: Yukari can be this at times.
• Iron Butt Monkey: It's unlikely that anyone, not even Ranma, can be put through as much abuse as Saffron goes through in a week and live.
  • Hell, not even Saffron can survive all the abuse he goes through. For him it's pretty much a case of guaranteed Unexplained Recovery (see Death Is Cheap)
  • Richard can count as this too; for him, not only is dismemberment just a setback, but it's temporary.
• Irony: Just... this:

"If he's a human and the Protection Committee knows about it, why haven't they told us yet?" The holy dragon said as he shook his head. "There's a limit to official incompetence, you know. Something that important would be broadcast throughout the ranks of the committee, if not the entire school."

• Jekyll and Hyde/ Super-Powered Evil Side: Subverted; even though everyone refers to Moka's inner self as 'Evil Moka', she is actually a good person despite being haughty and ruthless.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Ranma. While he may be rough around the edges, he's more than willing to kick the ass of anyone who threatens his friends. See also the aftermath of his fight with Kana in chapter three.
  • Ranma almost always has good intentions. But not only is he incredibly socially awkward, he is a Heroic Sociopath who, while having normal morals in regards to protecting innocents, defending the weak, and so on, at times demonstrates a value system that meshes a little too well with that of the average monster. He even talks about this with Fran at one point.
    • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: See any of his interactions with Saffron.
• Just Following Orders: This was part of Keito's Batman Gambit to explain why she should join the new Protection Committee.
• Kamehame Hadoken: Ranma's Mouko Takabisha
• Kill It with Ice: Happens to a poor Innocent Bystander when Jin decides to kill everyone in the area. She got better.
• Killer Game Master: Yukari becomes one near the end of the 'Cities and Cyclists' chapter in 'Big Human on Campus: After School'.
• Knight Templar: This is arguably the default attitude of the Protection Committee.
• Know When to Fold'Em: One of the few times Ranma just decides Screw This, I'm Outta Here when Principal Kuno challenges him to one of his stupid stunts and accepts his expulsion gracefully, he gets called away to Youkai Academy.
• Lampshade Hanging
• Laughably Evil: Richard may be a pychotic, homicidal maniac but you can't help but laugh at his antics.
• Lawful Stupid: Subverted in the case of the nameless holy dragon Enforcer; he's actually quite intelligent. See Surrounded by Idiots below. Though what happens to him, courtesy of Richard... kinda gets mitigated when we find out that he gets sent back to his home dimension when he dies and just has to pay a toll to get back - in fact is seems to be the case for his whole four-man squad.
• Light Is Not Good: Kuyo, who in this story, has platinum hair and generates white flames is clearly evil.
• Loads and Loads of Characters: It's amazing how the author can keep track of characters not only from Ranma 1/2 and Rosario + Vampire, but also the story relevant cameos and the many OCs.
• Look Behind You!: Yukari uses a variation of this on Kurumu.
• Magic Ampersand: Cities & Cyclists is an RPG played in Big Human on Campus: After School. The monsters try playing perfectly ordinary human beings going about their daily lives. It goes hilariously wrong.
• Meet Cute: Tsukune and Moka meet the same way as in the regular series, however Ranma and Moka have more of a meet awkward. Seeing Moka bite Tsukune, Ranma quickly snaps off a tree branch and fashions a wooden stake behind his back to go Buffy on Moka while giving her a level glare. Obviously he doesn't go through with it, but Moka is more than a little concerned to find a two foot long wooden stake sunk into a tree down the road...still shaking from the impact.
• Magical Girlfriend
• Marshmallow Hell: Kurumu, of course.
  • Special mention needs to go to the time when she was returning with the rest of Jadeite's Exploration Club suffering from massive clothing damage when Ranma is thrown off a roof like a missile and lands on top of Kurumu in this manner completely by chance.
• The Masquerade: The whole point of Youkai Acadamy is to teach monsters how to blend in with human society. Though, it's been implied in this fic that most do it out of fear than any notion of peace towards humans. Some, like Kouma, aren't even 100% sure why the rules state you have stay in human form.
• Mathematician's Answer: Yukari gives one to one of Tsukune's questions.
• Mighty Glacier: Chopper Rikishi
• Money Spider: Literally. The spiders on campus apparently have valuable items on their person for no reason.
• Monsters Anonymous: Youkai Acadamy teaches young monsters to peacefully coexist with humans, however this Youkai Academy seems to be doing a poor job compared to canon.
• Mood Whiplash: This fic has many moments where the main characters are in life threatening situations or see their peers die (most of it courtesy of Richard) right in front of them, and right afterwards goes into comedy. Ranma and Richard are known to cause this trope.
  • Reading the first and second chapters of 'Big Human on Campus: After School' back to back could cause your neck to snap; from the black comedy of chapter one to the unnerving seriousness of chapter two can be a lot to take in.
• Morton's Fork: The reason the enforcer's don't believe Ranma when he claims to be human enters straight into Insane Troll Logic:

Jin: Without some kind of evidence... Ranma: I just confessed! Jin: A confession from an unreliable source cannot be used to have someone arrested. Ranma: Why am I unreliable? Jin: Well, for one thing, you're making outrageous claims like you being a human. That's ridiculous. You're clearly unsound and any testimony from you shall henceforth be disregarded.

• Ms. Exposition: Nekonome-sensei provides the monster data in place of Nazo from the anime.
• Multiple Head Case: Volos
• My Country, Right or Wrong: Because of his apparently lawful alignment, the Holy Dragon enforcer had to follow the orders of his corrupt superiors in the old Protection Committee (now disbanded), even if it went against his morals.
• My Eyes Are Leaking: After Tsukune helped Saffron with his injury and actually showed that he cared about his well-being, Saffron had 'droplets of liquid' rolling down his face. This led to a Don't You Dare Pity Me! moment when Tsukune informed Saffron that they were tears; immediately followed by Saffron breaking down and crying.
• My Fist Forgives You: Kurumu to Ranma, after the latter grabbed and then fondled her breasts due to a prank. It Makes Sense in Context. It's even lampshaded with Kurumu saying, mid-beating, "A little more and I'll forgive you completely!"
• My Name Is Inigo Montoya: Said almost word for word with Iricho Monoya who wanted revenge for his brother's death.
• Nice Guy: Tsukune is quite possibly the only being in the entire Verse who could be defined as this. Ranma is also this, for a more Jerkass, in your face facet.
• Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Ranma's character in 'Cities and Cyclists' is a Hippie Carpenter Martial Artist, with a chainshaw.
• No Fourth Wall: In the Omakes. At one point, Mizore wonders whether or not the Omakes are actually part of the story.
  • The Omake about Mizore giving a headless ice statue of a girl a snowman head became canon when the girl thawed out and went to the new Protection Committee to ask them to find her original head.
• "No Respect" Guy: Kouma
• Not Helping Your Case: Ranma's protestations of humanity aren't terribly convincing:

Kana: But Aono is REALLY human? Ranma: So am I! I'm just not that good at it yet!

• Nothing Is Scarier: Averted at first with the Boss Spider. Reconstructed later when after attacking Haruo and gumming up his wings, it stalked him through the forest making sure to keep out of sight. This turned the gargoyle into an emotional wreck; it wasn't so much that the spider attacked him that freaked Haruo out, it was that he lost sight of it and the arachnid held off attacking him for a long time.
• Obliviously Evil: Tobaki
• Obviously Evil: Lampshaded by Tsukune on how clearly malevolent psychopaths like Richard and Jadeite could be teachers. Yukari informs him that only the human world has 'pointless' bureaucracy like boards; all you need to do in order to teach at Youkai Acadamy is get the headmaster's consent.
• Off with His Head: Happens to a poor girl after Jin froze her. She gets better, since after she thawed out she went to the New Protection Committee to get them to help her find her head; she's a dullahan (a headless knight).
• Oh Crap: Ranma gets this moment when, under a bad luck curse cast by Yukari, gets attacked in the boy's bathroom by a grue when the lights went out.
• Only the Chosen May Wield: Tsukune is the only person who can remove Moka's rosario. The heroes have yet to realise this and have little reason to since they don't trust Inner-Moka yet.
• Only Sane Man: Tsukune's head and bridge of his nose are going turn red from the amount of Face Palm he's giving them.
  • Also Moka and Kurumu, at least compared to the others.
• Order Versus Chaos: The New Protection Committee vs The Fight Club. It's almost like Shin Megami Tensei (except without the extemism and hypocrisy on both sides), with one side, as protectors wanting order, safety and peace for everyone while the other side has warriors who, while not bad guys, enjoy fighting and intend to crush their opponents.
• Ordinary High School Student: Tsukune, as a change from the Mighty badass that he has become in the original Manga. It's quite a nice change.
• Original Character: Kana Kanade, Kouma Gamaroshi, Haruo Keisu, Tobaki, Kishia, Volos, Jin Kaishuu and the netherworld enforcers.
• Our Monsters Are Different: Considering that the author is taking monsters from more than one manga and a few other sources, some of the monsters may have different subgroups in the species. This includes:
  • All Trolls Are Different: Chopper Rikishi can heal injuries such as broken bones in minutes and its implied that he can regenerate lost limbs as well. One of the few weaknesses he has is fire.
  • Our Gargoyles Rock: Haruo Keisu
  • Our Vampires Are Different: This may be a big case because the vampires from Rosario + Vampire and Princess Resurrection are vastly different. Both are known to be strong monsters, however the Rosario vampires are known for converting their supernatural energies into raw power. Biting also seems to have different side effects; Resurrection vampires can turn their victims into slaves with biting, however Moka can suck blood without any side effects, except perhaps anemia. It's only when she injects blood that the person changes into a blood-thirsty ghoul that no one can control. Resurrection vampires can fly and turn into a swarm of bats at will, however Rosario vampires lack the ability to fly and transformation is considered a forbidden technique. Both are sensitive to sunlight, but the Resurrection vampires seem to be weaker to it. The same goes for water, however while Resurrection vampires are weakened by it, splashing a Rosario vampire with fresh water is akin to a severe electric shock. Crosses weaken Rosario vampires but don't seem to effect Resurrection vampires.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: Same as the example above, however there are lot fewer differences between Rosario werewolves and Resurrection werewolves. Rosario werewolves are famed for their speed that rivals the strength of the vampire, but while Resurrection werewolves are known to be agile, they are nowhere as fast. Resurrection werewolves are weakened by silver but this may not be the case for Rosario werewolves since Gin wears a silver chain around his neck.
• Peek-a-Bangs: Kana
• Perky Female Minion: Turns out Tobaki was one for the Enforcers.
• Politically-Incorrect Villain: Played for laughs with the Tree Golem enforcer. He gets insulted when Moka called him a Treeman (he makes a point in saying that he is indeed male) but has no problems with making sexist remarks about the girls. It's even lampshaded by his teammates:

Lantern enforcer: Man, you are just all over the map with the political correctness, aren't you?

• Power Dyes Your Hair: Moka's pink hair turns silver after her rosario is removed and she has access to her true powers.
• Power Limiter: Moka's rosario. Also, Saffron was locked in a pre-teen form, preventing him from reaching the heights of his power. It has actually helped him more than hurt him so far, since he keeps dying and it prevents him from becoming a baby again every 10 minutes.
  • Not anymore. Richard has removed Saffron's limiter.
• Precision F-Strike: After the Holy Dragon enforcer informed his team that he was a vegetarian, the Wood Golem had only two words for him: "Fuck You".
• Pride: This seems to be Ranma and Inner-Moka's main beef with each other. Both of these characters are extremely arrogant and Inner-Moka seems to have made it her personal goal to teach the uppity human his place. However, that's easier said than done since Ranma's own ego would never allow him to go down easily to such a haughty opponent. They've only had one fight so far and it resulted in destruction of an entire section of the school building.
• Proud Warrior Race Girl: Riza Wildman and Inner Moka.
• Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Of course not, don't be daft. Rape is either an equal gender hobby or foreplay before lunch (usually with the same individual) and if after one week in Yokai Academy you keep believing this, you got problems, man.
  • Although Richard would like it to be known that he is a twisted, sadistic pyschopath, not a pervert.
• Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: Ranma's signature attack.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Many of the characters' eyes glow when they get angry.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Ranma and Tsukune respectively.
  • Also Kouma is Red Oni compared to any of his friends, especially Ranma and Gin.
• Reformed but Rejected: The Holy Dragon enforcer (and perhaps Kishia) was sincere in rejoining the Protection Comittee to make Youkai Acadamy a better place but was thrown of a cliff for his troubles.
• Remember When You Blew Up a Sun? / Never Live It Down: Ever since Ranma defeated Kuyou with the Hiryu Shoten Ha, destroying the Student Council Room in the process, people keep bringing up the fact that he is able to create tornadoes, usually when talking about how dangerous or crazy he is. Ranma is less than pleased.
• Rescue Romance: Kurumu and Mizore fell in love with Tsukune and Ranma respectively after the boys saved them. Ironically, Ranma was the reason they needed to be rescued in the first place; he was about to blast Kurumu with his Moko Takabisha before Tsukune stopped him and Mizore was nearly fried by a stray fireball because of a fight between Ranma and Kouma.
• Retcon: A meta one is heavily implied. The author states that partway through writing chapter 2, someone told him that Kana resembled Sun (he hadn't read the second series yet). Given that Kana has the surname Kanade, and at the end of chapter 4 she's seen writing a letter to her brother Kamiya, it can be concluded that the author made Kana Kamiya's sister.
• Ridiculously Average Guy: Tsukune; especially when compared to Ranma.
• Running Gag: Quite a few. The more notable ones include:
  • Ranma's fear of cats, and by extension, Miss Nekonome.
  • Saffron getting killed.
  • Professor Richard killing and attacking people.
  • Moka... she is so useless.
  • Professor Jadeite and his hatred of Magical girls.
  • NO ONE (except Tsukune, Moka, and the school nurse) believing Ranma to be human.
  • Related to the above, people's guesses as to Ranma's "true" species.
  • The incompetence of the old Protection Committee.
• Sadist Teacher: Richard and Jadeite.
• Sand in My Eyes: After Kouma admitted that he needed Ranma's help to get stronger and overcome his weaknesses, the martial artist claimed it was Kouma's ash that was causing him to tear up.
• Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Tsukune and Ranma respectively.
• Shipper on Deck: Yukari is trying to get Ranma and Moka together, much to both characters' annoyance.
  • After a short heart-to-heart where Ranma and Moka work out some of their differences, Yukari tells them to hug. Tsukune is left feeling a little awkward at how easily they comply, but steps in when she tells them to finish up with a make-up kiss. Ranma still jokingly asks if the cheek is okay.
• Shout-Out: Richard the Warlock is one of the teachers at Youkai Academy. Also Jadeite from Sailor Moon, The Dark Liege from Nora, Riza Wildman from Princess Resurrection, and Fran Madaraki from Franken Fran.
  • There are also several cameo appearances of monsters from Dungeons & Dragons and Disgaea
  • Ranma's speech to the New Protection Comittee recruits is identical to Mr. Popo's in Dragon Ball Abridged, complete with kicking people off high places when they asked questions.
  • The title itself is shout out to Big Wolf on Campus but instead of a human boy turned werewolf protecting his normal town from monsters, we have two human boys going to a monster school and protecting the monster students from more dangerous creatures.
  • The spider infestation and the chapter focusing on it is obviously a shout out to Eight Legged Freaks. It's even the name for the chapter.
  • Iricho Monoya made a point of introducing himself and seeking revenge against Saffron for killing his brother.
  • During their prank war, Yukari catches Ranma with the "explosive runes" gag from The Order of the Stick. Also, the bag filled with small animals she has in Chapter 13 while training the spiders might be another reference to it.
• Shrinking Violet: The OC Siren, Kana Kanade, has shown shades of this. Among large groups of people she can't get her voice above a whisper, but when dealing people trying to get between her and her Ranma or when around the Pig-tailed Man himself, she's able to converse somewhat normally.
• Smoking Is Cool: Kouma smokes cigarettes to keep his body temperature up, probably inverse to Mizore's lollipop.
• Split Personality: The gentle Outer-Moka and the aggressive Inner-Moka. Also Volos has shown to have multiple personalities that could pop up at anytime; this is justified because he's a hydra, the multiple personalities are just multiple heads speaking through the middle one in human form.
• Stalker with a Crush: Mizore
  • Ranma doesn't seem to mind. He even gives her tips!
  • Hell he was practically flattered by her Stalker Wall of Photos, he just told her to add some pictures of him fighting since it would capture his character better. Tsukune, Yukari, and Kana didn't seem to be sure whether the wall or Ranma's reaction was weirder.
• Stalking Is Funny If Its Female After Male: It's funny in canon, but its hilarious when no matter where Mizore hides, Ranma always knows where to find her.
• Stranger in a Strange School: Ranma and Tsukune, but they do start settling in; Ranma much faster than Tsukune because he is practically a weirdness magnet.
• Submissive Badass: Ranma, because as pointed by himself, he doesn't have the will or interest to proact and it's quite content to fight for "Peace, Justice and Stuff" in Tsukume name.
• Super Speed: Ranma all the way, most characters only see him or his fists blur out of existence or don't even perceive him moving until the hit connects. Riza Wildman asks him to hit a punching bag as fast as he can, it instantly winds up across the gym with Tsukune swearing he didn't even see him move. Wildman chides Ranma a bit, but Ranma explains that he hits things so many times in the same place so quickly that his fastest hit and his strongest hit are pretty much the same thing.
  • Inner-Moka is also very fast, described as accelerating like a gunshot. Gin, being a werewolf, could very well be the fastest of them all, especially during the full moon.
• Super Strength: Several characters, notably Chopper, Inner Moka, the Tree Golem, and Ranma (though unlike the others he isn't really defined by raw power much)
• Surrounded by Idiots: The nameless Holy Dragon enforcer said this when after he suggested they ask someone if Tsukune and his friends were the loved ones of Ranma they were supposed to capture, his associates, instead of asking some other bystander, went to Tsukune and the others directly if they were friends of the martial artist.
• Suspiciously Specific Denial: At one point, Ranma blurts out that he didn't steal the Dark Liege's soul shards, and he must have been framed. Except that no one had mentioned anything about the soul shards yet.
  • And Richard gives us this:

"Are you implying that I took him hostage on a whim and then experimented on him until I undid the crucial magical bonds that kept his power restrained and prevented him from enacting hot, burning revenge against all who've done him harm?" Ranma blinked. "Well, I-" "And then, after a series of running battles in which I proved offensively superior but unable to completely overcome his accursed regeneration and aura resistance, finally managed to get away when he happened to be distracted by some other insolent fool that had attacked him in the past, and then retreated?" "Did he-" Tsukune began, only to be cut off. "And THEN, after making this pointless mistake and retreating while others suffered from my hubris, that I came crawling to YOU, an assortment of worthless lesser beings, to clean up my mess and protect me from retribution? Is that what you're trying to say?" Richard said, his voice booming as if projected from a heavy speaker system as his eyes flared white with unholy power. Ranma and Tsukune glanced at each other, looked back at Richard, and then nodded their heads. "Yup, that's it." "That's what were accusing you of." Richard's eyes dimmed, and he scratched his cheek. "Really? How did you figure all that out so quickly?"

• Take Our Word for It: When Tobaki, an admirer of Ranma, shows him her monster form, he runs out of the room so quickly, he looked like a screaming red and black blur. It was revealed later that she was a Yochlol.
• Take That

Tsukune: We have students who aren't even sentient? Hokuto: They mostly make up the golf club.

• That Wasn't a Request: How the Netherworld enforcers responded to Kurumu and the others refusing to be imprisoned without charge.

Yukari: Then why did you phrase it as one?

• The Chessmaster: Averted SO HARD. Not a single faction has shown Tactical ability beyond: Find-->Kick his/her/it ass. Justified since one faction is lead by a sociopathic bully and the other by a young teenager.
• The Call Knows Where You Live: When Ranma is sent the Yokai Academy acceptance letter it seems the "mysterious benefactor" had this trope in mind as he put at the bottom, "P.S. We totally know where you live." Despite this, Ranma wasn't actually convinced to go until he heard that Genma had never finished high school.
  • Saffron tried to refuse and got stuck cursed as a young kid with his power massively sealed. Ranma wonders if the school would have done something similar ot him if he had refused before.
• The Cape (trope): Both Tsukume and Ranma, the first a more Traditional example while Ranma a more grounded, specially when compared to the rest of Yokai Academy.
• The Heart: Tsukume role in the series and trying to become this for the Yokai Academy at large.
• The Protagonist: Ranma. However, if it weren't for the prologue being dedicated specifically to Ranma, this troper would have thought that he shared this trope with Tsukune.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Outer-Moka gives an epic one to Inner-Moka in chapter thirteen. She states no matter what she tries, she'll never beat Ranma and that he's strong enough to fend off any enemy they'd need Inner-Moka for, and she trusts him to do it too. She more or less implies that the heroes don't need Inner-Moka and therefore have no reason to let her out.
  • Nurse Fran gives a kind one to Ranma, pointing that Ranma really, really needs to be in Yokai Academy and learn how to act like a human

Ranma: ""But... I'm FROM a human civilization," Ranma protested. Nurse Fran: /Gently took his hand and gazed up into his eyes, her own (apparently replaceable ones) full of hope and determination./ "And some day, with work and guts, human civilization will take you back! Don't give up!"

• The Undead: Richard
• There Was a Door: A few times, most notably when Jin is chasing the heroes.

BOOM! "Oh, YEAH!" Jin burst from the outer wall of the school building, emerging from the structure covered in dust and plaster and with dozens of splinters tangled in his hair. "Special Compliance Squad pursuit technique: Kool-Aid blitz!" The yheti shouted as he shook himself to get rid of some of the debris.

• They Killed Kenny: Saffron. In the Omake for chapter 14, there's a line of people waiting to kill him.
• Thou Shalt Not Kill: This was Tsukune's first rule after becoming captain of the Protection Committee. He gives some leeway though, like if the person who does the killing has no other choice such as when their life or the lives of others are in critical danger.
• Token Good Teammate: The Holy Dragon enforcer is, so far, the only member of the Public Safety Commission who actually follows the rules and stops fights rather than take bribes for the squad; his teammates ask why he even bothers. This is the reason why his rank is so low compared to other enforcers like Haruo.
• Token Human: Tsukune. It enraged and depressed Ranma to no end when he realized he didn't qualify for the position.
• Too Dumb to Live: Saizo and some other monsters that we see just seem to have no impulse control and/or sense of consequences.

"You just run around LOOKING for trouble, don't you?" Ranma, to Saizo who is holding Tsukune up by his collar.

• Took a Level in Badass: Tsukune. Mainly because he had become quite unfased by the sheer insanity of Yokai Academy and had grown a backbone and a desire to help others no matter what. Too bad it didn't help him avoid being stripped and strapped to a pole in the backyard by the Fight club
• Tranquil Fury: In this fic, when Ranma is extremely angry or is going to fight all out, he turns from arrogant and annoying to cold and deadly.
• Trickster Archetype: Ranma is showing shades of this. While he is not at all book smart, he is very cunning, and in this fic, he stole the Dark Liege's soul shards and Jadeite's stress balls from their desks to use against them later. He also went toe to toe with Yukari (a genius} in the prank war.
• Tsundere: Inner-Moka is a Type A, while Kana is a Type B.
• Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: Ranma vs. Inner Moka. While the fight was interrupted, Ranma had the advantage, more or less. While Moka is physically stronger than Ranma, and both are incredibly fast, Ranma is more cunning, and a more experienced fighter (though he is certainly superhumanly strong himself). Most monsters are little more than brawlers. They were born with their abilities, which are so overwhelming that they have generally no need to actually learn how to fight. The fact that Ranma had to work years to get as good as he is, and the fact that nearly everyone dismisses his skill as simply his monster abilities, is the source of his Berserk Button.
  • Inner Moka may not actually be classified as a common brawler. In the other continuities, she's shown as much more skilled than the other monsters, which is why she trained Tsukune how to fight without his ghoul powers in the manga. Also in the manga we are shown that all of the vampire sisters train together and Moka actually won against Akuha a couple of times. It's not that Inner Moka is Unskilled but Strong its that when it comes to fighting, most other monsters can't measure up to her strength and go down quickly. Her main problem in this fic is that she lacks technique and experience in fighting unpredictable opponents, both of which Ranma excels in.
• Unfazed Everyman: Tsukune
• Ungrateful Bastard: Haruo took about two seconds to threaten Ranma with the lives of his friends right after he saved the gargoyle from being eaten by the 'Boss Spider'.
• Unlucky Everydude: Tsukune all the way, he's described in the second chapter as being so normal that the only remarkable thing about him was how unremarkable he was. However, in this continuity at least, his unlucky status is largely overshadowed by Ranma's bizarre luck.
• Unskilled but Strong: Most of the student body is this. As Ranma comments, they were born with their powers, so they never bothered to learn how to actually fight.
• Unwanted Harem: Despite Ranma's best efforts to the contrary, both he and Tsukune are both gaining these. Tsukune has Moka and Kurumu, while Ranma has Mizore, an OC siren named Kana, and Yukari.
  • Yukari claims that what she feels for Ranma is closer to admiration. What she feels for MOKA, on the other hand....
  • Ranma seems to have plenty of admirers that we see from time to time. Tsukune also gets flocks of girls whenever Ranma leaves his spiders with him.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: Ranma and Kouma (or so Ranma thinks).
  • Ranma and Outer-Moka also count.
• Weak but Skilled: Ranma is obviously far from weak, but he tends to have less in the way of raw power than anything that could actually challenge him, but he's also hands down the most skilled fighter at Youkai Academy and probably the most experienced as well.
• Weaksauce Weakness: Moka's aversion to water.
• We Have Reserves: One of the enforcers gives us this gem:

"You're to find Volos in his personal office around the council meeting room," Jin explained. "And then, when he is attacked, you are to throw yourself at the enemy in a desperate bid for time so that Volos can escape at the insignificant cost of your lives."

• Weirdness Magnet: It says a lot about him that Ranma is this even at a school for monsters.
• Wham! Episode: In chapter twelve, Ranma completely curbstomps Kuyo with one hit and Tsukune becomes the new Captain of the Protection Committee. This is followed by a somewhat Breather Episode in chapter thirteen.
• What the Hell, Hero?: Tsukune begins to lose his patience with Moka blindly protecting and defending Yukari's behavior despite her constant offensive behavior and pranks. When Moka tries to convince Tsukune to put an end to Ranma and Yukari's prank war, Tsukune exasperatedly points out that: 1) he warned her about this, 2) Yukari was the one who provoked Ranma, 3) Yukari deserves it, and 4) he trusts Ranma enough not to take it too far.
  • After Inner Moka's assault on Ranma and her outing his Gender Bender secret, Outer Moka confesses that she's afraid that if Ranma does go after her, she wouldn't be able to defend herself. This stretches Tsukune's temper past its breaking point, castigating her for even thinking that Ranma would do something like after he's done nothing but help them and save their lives.
  • Played for Laughs in chapter 12. In Tsukune's court dream Ranma called him out for making him a hot, female attorney.
• What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: Tsukune's honesty, tolerance and respect at first hand. That's it, until you realize that this has allowed him to (unintentionally) create the strongest force in the Academy and Obtain the post as leader of the New Protection Committee.
• Who's Laughing Now?: After temporarily regaining his powers, Saffron went on a rampage, murdering all those who killed him and racking up a huge pile of corpses. This comes back to bite him in the ass at the end of the chapter when all of the friends and loved ones of the deceased came for revenge.
• Why Did It Have To Be Cats: Ranma's fear is cats; so he is training giant spiders to hunt them.
• Wolverine Claws: Kurumu.
• Worst Vampire Ever: Moka, in Kurumu's opinion, when the succubus learned that she doesn't sleep during the day.
• You Kill It, You Bought It: After the Enforcers are defeated the Student Council President appoints Tsukune as the new head of the Protection Committee...partly for his ideals and partly for 'his general proximity to a guy that can throw giant tornadoes at those who oppose him'. There's also the small factor of nobody wanting Ranma in that kind of position of authority (though Hokuto lets him be Vice-Captain anyway).
• You Shall Not Pass: The newly ressurected Holy Dragon enforcer did his best to keep the protagonists from reaching Volos but was beaten down by Ranma. They were so taken by his Villainous Valor that Ranma went easy on him.
• Youkai: Too many to count.
