music videos

  • not so hard to do (0:15): The lyric "well it's not so hard to do!!" flashes blue-and-red on a plain black background. The video caps off with a drawing of a heart shape on a four-square background.
  • i wanna go home (0:32): A live-action music video featuring an upbeat melody and the lyric "i wanna go home" repeated 8 times. Filmed entirely in his room, it rapidly cuts between many takes of him playing various instruments (including air-drums), conspicuously changing his clothes with each take.
  • jazz starbucks (4:41): A synthesized rendition of Like Someone in Love. The only visual element is the Starbucks Coffee logo, rotating in place on a plain white background.

surreal short animations

  • i'm a leopard (0:05): The three titular words rapidly flash onscreen on a plain white background, while a screeching synthesizer sounds. After a couple of seconds, the full sentence appears at once and the synthesizer resolves in a triumphant chord.
  • i'm a camel (0:17): A jazzy number plays as various silly messages appear onscreen, ending with a simplistic drawing of a smiling face bordered by an exclamation mark and a question mark.
  • game challenge (0:23): Text on screen instructs the watcher to "match thing with thing.", and presents four commas of different colors. The music featured in this video is 9/20 line by Mark Stewart (shebtel shebtel on SoundCloud).

live-action sketches

  • sitting in my room (0:40): bill moves a microphone stand out of the way, then walks to the center of the room and sits cross-legged on the floor, remaining silent. At the end of the video, he stands up.
  • bookstacking (2:57): The "bookstacking" challenge, as bill describes it, involves stacking all the books he can find in his room into a stack in the center of his room. He narrates his train of thought as he continues to stack books. When the height of the final stack turns out to be underwhelming, he caps off the stack with a bottle of laundry detergent.
  • flipping things (0:59): bill turns objects in his room upside down and comments on the result.
  • rising out of bed (0:09): bill gets out of bed. The footage erratically speeds up and slows down, and is dubbed over by bill sing-narrating the event in an upbeat tone, in contrast to the mundane nature of the activity.
  • here's a bowl (0:07): A metal bowl is placed on the floor in front of some paintings. The lyric "Here's a bowl in case you throw up!" is cheerfully sung, backed by joyous instrumentation.
  • my foot (0:05): Footage of bill's bare right foot on green carpeting. The lyric "This is my foot!" is backed by overpowering instrumentation.

super-minimalist videos

  • alarm (1:32): The screen flashes solid red and solid black, while bill repeatedly plays a single high note on his keyboard.
  • this is the thing (0:08): bill says "this is the thing, and it works like this". The sentence is transcribed with white text on a plain black background.
  • green (1:28): The screen is solid green while bill plays a single continuous low tone.
  • bears (0:01): "bears." appears in yellow-to-orange gradient text on a blue background, while bill sings the word and plays a single chord.
  • whatever (0:01): The word "whatever" appears on a black background, while bill sings the word and plays three notes resolving in a chord. Interestingly, the word is colored to resemble an American flag, with "wh" in blue and "atever" in alternating red and white.
  • no (0:02): The word "no" fills the screen, while the text and background rapidly flash black and red. Bill sings the word and plays a harsh chord and cymbal crash.
  • die (0:02): The video fades in to a monochrome image of the word "DIE" filling the screen, written in serif font. The image saturates, coloring the text red and the background blue, before immediately desaturating and fading out. Bill sings the word and plays a harsh chord and cymbal crash.
  • penis (0:01): The word "penis" appears in multicolored font on a pink background, while a tinkling high-pitched scale plays.
  • vagina (0:01): Similar to the previous video, but on a blue background and with a lower-pitched scale.
  • test (0:03): The word "test" appears as a black outline with heavy JPEG artifacting, slowly filling to solid black. Bill plays notes on a bass guitar, accompanied by a synthesizer chord modified by a single oscillation.
