Originally created by Pyra Labs in 1999, since 2003 the site has been owned by Google. Blogger is one of the earliest pieces of blogging software that is still running. Since 2006 the site has been more thoroughly integrated into Google, with use of a Google account being required to use the service, and, for example, images uploaded through Blogger hosted through another Google product, Picasa.
New Features can be tested before release using the Blogger In Draft.
