Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Complete Monster: Amshel Goldsmith. He and the original Joel's experiments turned Diva into a bloodthirsty monster that she is.He also has no qualms about killing anyone, including Diva's own chevaliers, if he feels they are getting in the way. In fact, it's revealed in the end that he only cares about Diva as a specimen that satisfies his intellectual curiosity.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: "Diva".
    • Saya's Victory, rightfully placed amongst the Greatest Battle Music Of All Times.
  • Evil Is Sexy: Diva again!
  • Growing the Beard: When Saya grows her hair out. Possibly not the most accurate timing as that is subjective but things did seem to get more interesting around the time she was reintroduced with her hairstyle changed.
    • Growing the Beard is a Trope/Metaphor for a series' improvement, it doesn't have to be correlated to a change in hair, facial or otherwise.
  • Ho Yay: Nathan and James, Moses and Karman, and Karl and Solomon in the anime, Riku and Charles and Kai and Joel in the manga, and Hagi and Nishi in the prequel manga.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Diva crosses it when she rapes Riku so that she can bear his child, and then kills him.
  • Tear Jerker: Diva's death.
      • Her crying out to Saya and her last thoughts of the time she'll never get to spend with her babies in the anime.
      • In the manga: "Call me by the name you gave me and I'll stop crying, I promise." Especially heartbreaking because Saya was about to forgive her and she crumbles to pieces in Saya's arms after stopping her sister from killing herself and telling her to live.
    • The deaths of George, Riku, and all the Schiff except Lulu. George's death is particularly saddening, considering before he dies he tells Kai to take care of Saya and Riku and tells Saya never to forget to smile. Later on Riku is killed by Diva, causing Saya to become a emotionally distant Death Seeker hellbent on revenge and estranged from her allies.
    • As a chiropteran, Saya has a much longer lifespan, meaning that she will still be alive long after all the human characters including her adoptive elder brother Kai are dead.
