Anticlimax Boss: As Catharsis as it is to finally fight Umlaut, the battle is actually pretty easy. He flies around, has a bite attack, and that's it. He also has a pretty dull death scene, dissolving into pixels when his health drops to zero. Probably because the developers didn't want players who had gotten this far to run out of quarters before getting to the final boss.
Ear Worm: Most of the music, but the "Bunyan Ride" jingle is catchy as a mofo.
Fanfic Fuel: You'd be suprised how many fanfics there are about characters from other works of fiction causing the carnival to rise up from the ground.
Goddamn Bats: Played obnoxiously straight. Also featured in the same vein as bats are maggots, spiders, floaty bug things, and LITERAL spider monkeys.
Hilarious in Hindsight: Hambone and the "Skeleteens" manning the food court sound nearly exactly like the Pyro.
Most Annoying Sound: The survivors you find leave little to be desired out of their lines, which only consists of "HELP ME!", among other audio clips. It can get pretty grating and make you wish you could shoot them with no penalty.
- The gigantic clowns in the Big Top make odd squeaking noises when they're hit.
Nausea Fuel: The Freak Show level: Big Bearded lady eaten by maggots followed by a vat full of those same maggots followed by zombies getting ground up into a meal for a giant Frankenstein baby. *shudder*
Suspiciously Similar Song: One of the Attract Mode reels uses a song almost-but-not-quite identical to the Rob Zombie song "Superbeast".
That One Boss: Evil Marie, with a hard-to-hit weak point (it's the slash mark around her neck) which the game hardly gives you any time at all to draw a bead on as she slashes mercilessly at you.
Unpopular Popular Character: Despite him being ridiculed in-game as a "kiss-ass", Umlaut seems to be the most popular character with the fandom, receiving more fanart than anyone else. It helps that Umlaut is the character seen most in the game.
