Choro Club

Choro Club is a musical trio, comprising Oh Akioka on pandolim (a Portuguese/Brazilian version of the mandolin), classical guitarist Shigeharu Sasago and double bass player Jyoji Sawada. Their style is heavily influenced by Brazilian choro music, hence the name.

They are known for their melodious and atmospheric acoustic pieces, with influences from jazz, classical and Latin-American music. Their work, largely driven by Akioka's distinct, highly melodic pandolim-playing, can be heard throughout the animated versions of Aria and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, adding greatly to their soft, romantic mood. They also worked together with Senoo and SONOROUS for several compositions in those series.
