Clifford the Big Red Dog/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Designated Protagonist Syndrome: T-Bone and Cleo arguably have more adventures, character development and quirks than Clifford. Clifford pretty much serves as a voice of reason and that's pretty much it.
  • Ear Worm: The theme song to the cartoon series.
  • Lyrical Dissonance: The Tribute CD. It's probably the only place you can find songs that praise Clifford sung in a sad/bitter key.
  • Mary Sue: Emily Elizabeth could be the Trope Codifier. Whenever one of the human characters needs a lesson in The Power of Friendship, she is the one to drop the anvil. There is exactly one episode in the series' sixty-eight episode run in which Emily Elizabeth is the one at fault: the one in which she neglects cleaning her room.
  • Mood Whiplash: The music from the movie. For something that's supposed to be fun, they have extremely depressing songs about how you gotta hit the lows before you can find the highs.
  • Tear Jerker: "Friends Forever", where a young T-Bone has to deal with the fact that his friend, Hamburger, is moving away. Their goodbye is sad enough as is, even if you didn't grow up watching their voice actors.
