Coraline (novel)/Awesome

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • A special moment that was left out of the film: Rather than being a complete moron and walking out of the house without any idea how to stop the Other Mother's hand that was out to get her, the Coraline of the novel cleverly sets up her picnic blanket on top of the garden well and lets the Other Mother's hand fall in. Unlike the Coraline of the film who conquered so much only to be saved by some other character, the novel counterpart is smart. For this troper, that made her vastly superior as a protagonist.
