• Broken Base: Mitsuo Fukuda, the creator of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, is the executive director, and some have yet to forgive him for that and assign the flaws of the show to him as a result.
  • The end of Episode 1 features a brutal "cavity search" that is basically a lesbian prison rape scene in all but name., and the brutality of the scene and bad attempts at portraying simultaneously as Fanservice have proven a massive turnoff to many. The second episode also featured a graphic rape scene, which got just as negative a response.
• Narm: The rather gratuitous and badly meshed attempts at fanservice and drama, often in the same scene qualify for this.
  • The show is both Bloodier and Gorier and Hotter and Sexier in egregious amounts on many occasions, and the over the top aspects of these tropes are considered this by viewers.
• Scapegoat Creator: As mentioned above, Fukuda is seen as the go to for blame over the flaws in the show. Somewhat justified, given he has creative control as executive producer.
• Unfortunate Implications: All the Gratuitous Rape, especially since the very same scenes are also used as Fanservice. The Anime New Network review team's take on it is pretty representative of the vitriol these scenes inspired.
