PlayStation Characters

Afro/Boldo/Disco

Debuted in DDR 1st Mix as the default Player 1 character. Appeared in almost all DDR mixes.

• Carpet of Virility: His 1st Mix outfit showed his chest hair.
• Disco Dan: His alternate name is Disco.
• Dub Name Change: Afro in Japan, Disco overseas.
• Funny Afro: Well, Afro is his name.
• Meaningful Name: The hairdo and the reference to a music genre.
• Series Mascot: Some DDR songs in pop'n music have him as the character.

Bonnie

• Funny Afro: Just don't get confused with Disco's.
• No Sense of Direction: She easily gets lost sometimes.
• Zettai Ryouiki in her X2 arcade outfit.

Jenny

• Bare Your Midriff: Her outfit in the Supernova games.
• Biker Babe
• Hair of Gold
• Ms. Fanservice: Nearly all of her outfits have been nothing but this.
• Spy Catsuit: In X and the PlayStation 2 version of X2.

• Genki Girl: She's quite cheerful and fun whenever her Character Blog's appear on the DDR from Staff site.
• Guest Dancer: She appears as a playable character in the X2 Arcade.
• Musical Theme Naming: Hers is a bit tricky, but one can guess that it comes from "serenade". In her interview with the staff of Furu Furu Party (the Japanese equivalent of Hottest Party 2), though, she worries that she's the odd-man out of the names of the Hottest Party cast.
• Nice Hat in Hottest Party 4.
• Say It with Hearts: Talks with hearts, stars, and music notes on her Character Blog and profile on the X2 site.
• You Gotta Have Blue Hair
• Zettai Ryouiki: Reaches Rank A in Hottest Party 2.

U.G. (a.k.a Uncle Glide)

• Cool Shades Star-sunglasses in Hottest Party 1-3. It's a shame they used regular huge sunglasses in Hottest Party 4...
• Crazy Awesome Come on, a rainbow afro, sweet star sunglasses, a bad-ass scarf and suit in Hottest Party 1, and kick-ass skin-tight outfits of gold and silver in the following Wii games. Hell, in Hottest Party 3, his outfit has lights on it.
• Expy of Afro, appearance-wise in Hottest Party 1.
• Funny Afro
• Musical Theme Naming: "Glide" is one of Yuichi Asami's favorite synthesizers.
• That One Boss: Some beginners might have a lot of trouble defeating him to unlock SUPER SAMURAI, even on Basic.

• Forehead of Doom, though on his profile, he insists that all people with wide-foreheads are good people.
• Musical Theme Naming: Root's name comes from the "root" of a chord.

• Ms. Fanservice: In every Hottest Party, she has worn Daisy Dukes.
• Musical Theme Naming: You can guess where "Harmony" comes from, can't you?
• Nice Hat: In every Hottest Party save for 4, she always had a nice hat. A baseball cap in 1, a cute striped hat in 2, and a pimping fedora in 3.
• Zettai Ryouiki combined with Fashionable Asymmetry in Hottest Party 3.

Danca

• Amber Eyes
• Expy of Julio.
• Keet: YMMV, but come on, he can be quite adorable with those huge eyes and grinning face!
• Musical Theme Naming: Danca is obviously a corruption of "dancer".
• Nice Bandanna combined with cool thick dreadlocks. He wears a bandanna as a neckerchief in Hottest Party 2 as well.
• Perpetual Smiler: In Hottest Party 1, he is always grinning.
• Put on a Bus: Is missing, along with Gaku and Domi, from Hottest Party 4.
• The Rival: To Gaku, according to his profile.

Domi

• Bob Haircut
• Expy of Jenny, with some Lady thrown in as well.
• Hair of Gold
• Ms. Fanservice: Her outfits are damn hot. She even wears all-leather in Hottest Party 2.
• Musical Theme Naming: Domi and Dyna are sisters, and their names come from "dominant chord" and "dynamic chord" respectively.
• Put on a Bus: Is missing, along with Gaku and Danca, from Hottest Party 4.
• Rose-Haired Girl: Oddly, Domi had pink hair on her alternate outfit in Furu Furu Party only. The pink hair went worldwide in Hottest Party 3.
• Zettai Ryouiki: Grade A reached with Daisy Dukes, even!

Gaku

• Badass Beard: Actually a badass goatee.
• Bald of Awesome: More like a Shave Of Awesome. He even mentions he worries about maintaining it in his profile.
• Brown Eyes
• Goggles Do Nothing: He wears silly-looking goggles that have lights on them in Hottest Party 2.
• Musical Theme Naming: Another tricky and not-so-obvious one. His name comes from "gigaku/bugaku", a type of mask worn in Japanese dance-dramas.
• Nice Headphones: He's a fan of beatmania, so headphones suit him well.
• Put on a Bus: Is missing, along with Danca and Domi, from Hottest Party 4.
• Real Men Wear Pink: Gaku's the only male Hottest Party character have a pink outfit. He has a pink jacket in Hottest Party 1.

Dyna

• Nice Hat: An adorable round wool hat in Hottest Party 3. Her hat in Hottest Party 4 isn't bad either.
• Musical Theme Naming: Ceja is Spanish for "violin bridge"...according to a source I read. If not, someone please correct. 8D;
• You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Her alternate outfit in Hottest Party 4 gives her blonde hair, though.

Pia

• Bare Your Midriff: The HP 1 female back-dancer outfits sport this.
• Brown Eyes
• Fingerless Gloves: The back-dancers have these in their HP 3/4 outfit.

• Musical Theme Naming: Pia comes from "piano", both the instrument and the dynamic. Also ties in with Forte with "piano forte".
