"The name's Craig. Daniel Craig."

British actor, born in Chester in 1968.

Craig's career has included appearances in the classic Miniseries, Our Friends in the North (alongside Christopher Eccleston), Sharpe, Elizabeth and Layer Cake, but he's now going to be known for one role: James Bond.

Cast in the role for 2006's Casino Royale, he reprised the role in 2008's Quantum of Solace and will appear in 2012's Skyfall (which is incidentally the 50th anniversary year of the first Bond film, Dr. No). He was also used as the design base and voice of Bond in the remake of the GoldenEye 007 game for the Wii.

Despite being known primarily for Bond, Craig has had major roles in a number of other big-budget films, including: Angelina Jolie's love interest/rival in Tomb Raider (2001), Mossad team-member Steve in the Spielberg-directed Munich (2005), Lord Asriel in the film adaption of The Golden Compass (2007), Jewish resistance leader Tuvia in Defiance (2008), and protagonist Jake Lonergan of Cowboys and Aliens (2011), lead role Mikael Blomkvist in the David Fincher adaption of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Red Rackham in the Dream-Production-Team film adaption of Tintin.

He married Rachel Weisz in June 2011.

On an unrelated sidenote, he has been said to resemble Russian President Vladimir Putin.
