Death to Smoochy/Tear Jerker

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Spinner's death is a big one. This was a man who had a great boxing career, despite the damage he did to his brain. A man whom despite his Man Child and Innocently Insensitive tendencies was a really Nice Guy and a fan of Smoochy. While he did at first get the job on the show through some intimidation on behalf of his Irish Mob friends. He along with them do genuinely get along with the nice Sheldon Mopes. He was even ecstatic about the Ice Show, because it was held in the arena where he used to fight at. However tragedy strikes, when the Parade of Hope, a corrupt charity mad at not getting a piece tries to kill Smoochy. They mistake Spinner who at first was a bell ringing game warden, became Smoochy's Cousin Moochy another Rhino. Due to a case of mistaken identity, they kill Spinner instead. Which was initially blamed on Rainbow Randolph (Though Sheldon and the Irish later find out it's not him.). As a moment of heartwarming, Smoochy dedicates the Ice Show to Spinner. Ringing his bell one final time.
  • Rainbow Randolph is another one. While on the surface he seems like a Jerkass with the kid friendly persona being just an act compared to his slovenly behavior in real life. However after he gets caught accepting bribes from parents, who want their kids on TV; his life spirals down to the point where you can't help but feel sorry for him. He loses his Job, his home, his co-workers. He gets hurt physically when things don't go his way. He takes his frustration out on Sheldon Mopes/Smoochy, who time and again mentions has nothing personal against Randolph. He tries to end his life, only to be foiled by a former fan who didn't want to see him destroy himself. Unfortunately that moment gets crushed severely when Sheldon arrives causing everyone including the fan to swarm over to him. Which in turn causes Randolph to question God. To add insult to injury he gets framed for Spinner's murder. When he confronts Sheldon and tries his hardest to break him, with secrets of Nora's past life as a kid show host groupie. When that fails, he breaks down completely causing Sheldon and Nora to disarm him. It becomes a moment of heartwarming when Sheldon offers to help him out, with Randolph meekly asking to be his friend in return.
