Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.
< Degrassi‎ | Recap‎ | S10

Where are we? What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall,
Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling.
Spin me round again and rub my eyes.
This can't be happening.

After class, Ms. Oh calls Chantay and Holly J over to talk about their work study for Councilor Beverly Grayson's election. She says that Grayson's initial evaluation of Chantay are very good...Holly J not so much. Ms. Oh says that Councilor Grayson sees potential, but she seems distracted. Holly J promises to do better.

She wants to pitch her some ideas for monopolizing the youth vote, but Grayson has a better idea. She wants them to participate in a 10K run for charity. Holly J doesn't look so eager about the daunting task. She's losing it little by little. At work, she can barely concentrate and nearly collapses.

The next day at school, she laments over her progress report from Grayson and Sav comes in to check on her and provide an Alli update. She coughs and Sav asks if her if she's okay. Holly J says that she's probably has strep and will gladly help Sav put up missing posters. Sav refuses, saying she looks like she's been hit a truck. Holly J dismisses his concern and says she just needs a nap before she runs her part in the 10k. Sav says that Grayson will take one look at her and send her home and Holly J says she needs this and to impress her. There's no way she's going let this stop her. Sav tells her that he's just worried and Holly J warmly tells him not to worry about her and concentrate on Alli.

At the 10k, Holly J tries to tell Grayson she's sick, but before she can get it out, Chantay comes up with boundless energy. Grayson is pumped for the run, and she spills to the girls that she's preparing to run for mayor and that their work-study could turn into a summer job. She mentions that she knows that Holly J is sexually active with Sav and maybe she could be pregnant. Holly J says she just can't be pregnant and there's no chance. Chantay offers to talk with her, but Holly J brushes her off and tries to run again, but pukes in a trash can.

After the run, Holly J feels like crap. Chantay asks her if she's okay to which Holly J says she's not. But, she got her period so she's not pregnant. So it could be something else. Holly J doesn't want it to be something else, or something at all. She's scared.

B Plot

The Bhandari's are still worried about Alli and that fact the police can't really do anything. Sav looks at the surveillance footage one more time, and notices she's smiling. Who would she know with a car? Mrs. Bhandari mentions that three quarters of runaways return home, but Sav is worried about the other quarter. Mr. Bhandari tells Sav that was enough, and Bhandari parents are distraught. Where could be she possibly be?

At Toronto University, Sav arrives and knocks on the dorm room door of Johnny DiMarco. Sav asks if he's heard anything about Alli and Johnny says no. Sav explains that she's run away and his family is extremely worried. Sav tells him to keep an eye out and Johnny obligies. After Sav leaves and Johnny closes the door, he confronts Alli (who's been sitting in his room the whole time) on her lie. He thought her parents kicked her out. People are worried about her. Alli explains her parents didn't want her home and she can't go back to Degrassi, there are rumors about her. Johnny says it's no big deal. And Alli explains that her parents found out about everything. They treated her like crap and Alli tried everything and now she has nowhere to go. Johnny sighs and tells her she can stay for awhile. Alli runs and hugs him and says that she'll stay until she can figure things out.

That night, Alli is on Facerange looking at all the "Come home!" messages and douchebag comments and pictures of her family. She sees an ad about Vancouver and tells Johnny that Vancouver will be her new home. She'll find a job, maybe become a nanny and start all over. Johnny wants her to go home and Alli doesn't want to hear that. Johnny calls her back and says that she can't go across the country with everyone looking for her. She needs a disguise. He tells her she can stay one more night while they get her disguise ready.

Johnny speaks with a girl named Kayla and he asks her to show her how awesome college is. Johnny says that going home has to be her own decision, plus he feels guilty because she wouldn't be in that position if he wasn't involved. Kayla sighs and Alli walks in. They make introductions and Johnny explains that Kayla is into theater and neuroscience. She goes off to get Alli's disguise and to show her around campus. After her tour, Alli is still looking forward to Vancouver and Johnny asks her how the campus was. Alli wryly tells him his plan to make her go home won't work. Johnny reminds her that she has two years at home and then she's home free at college. Alli counters that her parents would just keep her under lock and key. Running away is her only escape. Johnny then tells her he felt the same way -- being at the scene where a popular boy was stabbed and then having to go to his school...he explains it was hell with his parents but he got through it. And now he's at college and everything is great. Alli smiles and says she could stay for another night.

Alli thanks Johnny for the tour and is looking forward to college, but just then Kayla walks in asking if Johnny's little "problem" is gone. Alli realizes Kayla is his girlfriend and figures that Johnny doesn't want her around either. She runs off in a huff to the bus station.

C Plot

The Grade 10 class is outside with Mr. Perino, unearthing their time capsule they did in Grade 7. It's full of letters to their future selves. Wesley reads his and it's of his past self saying he'll probably be cool, with a cool car and a world record. Wesley realizes he's almost 16 and has none of those things, least of all a world record.

At school the next day, Wesley goes over records he can break with his uncle. It turns out a lot of them are too daunting or scary for Wesley to even try. His uncle tells him he doesn't have to do crazy things to impress people but Wesley says that he promised himself to break a record by age 16. Mr. Betankamp points the record for the most pogo stick jumps. Wesley wants to try it out and Mr. Betankamp is there to help.

Later, Wesley is practicing for his record with Connor. Dave comes in and tells him that his won't really help him with the popularity/girlfriend part of his letter. Wesley counters and asks Dave just what is he good at and he has to practice and if he's going to be no help, then he should leave. Wesley goes back to practicing and he doesn't think he can do it. But just then, Dave comes in over the announcements and makes Wesley's record breaking attempt a school-wide affair in the auditorium. Wesley has an Oh Crap look on his face.
