Doom Wiki
The Doom Wiki is a community project with the goal of documenting everything related to id Software's classic games Doom and Doom II, the survival horror-focused reboot Doom 3, and the 2016 reimagining as well as its sequel, Doom Eternal, and other games based on the Doom engine as well as its spinoffs. The Doom Wiki was founded by Fredrik Johansson on January 6, 2005.
It was hosted on FANDOM at one point, but now maintains independent hosting.
Doom Wiki provides examples of the following tropes:
- In Memoriam: The site has a Memorial category for Doom community members who passed away. Of special note was the Columbine page, especially given the impact the tragedy had among the Doom community and their efforts to rebuke those who vilify their hobby.
- Mascot: Hissy the Cacodemon.
- Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Played straight with the more technical aspects of the games, where they go into detail on the extensive technical documentation of the engines used throughout the series - especially with those whose code was released under an open-source license.
