The series begins with a teleporter named Joseph Braun meets with his estranged sister Naomi and asks for her to join his group of individuals for a mission. A research facility that expiriments on Advanced Humans is building a weapon to control of destroy everyone that has an advanced ability and Joseph as well as his team is desperate to stop it. However, the plan goes awry when they discover that not only is the Facility they're breaking into building an army of clones instead of a weapon...but Joseph and Naomi's father is the head of security and has no qualms about turning his children in.
And that's just the first 'chapter'. The series goes on to build up a bigger group of people called the "Guardians". A group of time travelers who know the future and are using their knowledge to gain places of power and remain one step ahead of Bernard Harving. Bernard Harving is the series Big Bad that can control the five senses of those around him and has used it to kill others.
The first book deals with things like broken families, tragic backstories, estrangement, reconciliation, trust, power struggles, leadership, obsoletion, manipulation, and the consequences of one's actions
