    • Not really. The first Spain dub has the exactly same change as well.
  • Kodachi Kuno to Kodachi Tatewaki.
  • In the first Spain dub, Ukyo Kuonji is at first named Federica, a plain Spanish name, and then it's weirdly changed to the Japanese name Kaori.

  • Chichi to Milk - In Spanish, the word "chichi" is slang for girl parts; in Mexico it's slang for breast (which curiously, matches one of the meanings for the original Japanese name)
  • Gyu-mao- to Ox Satan
    • that change just astounds anyone by obvious reasons, besides, "Mr. Satan" was not changed later.
  • Pilaf to El Marciano ("The Martian/Alien", though only on the early chapters)
  • Kame Sen'nin to Master Roshi
  • Tsuru Sen'nin to Master Tsuru
  • Piccolo Daimaoh to Picoro Daimaku
  • Hatchan to Octavio (playing with "Octavo", which means Eighth)

• Other shows like Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya gets the English versions of the names but the footage and everything else was from the Japanese versions (except things like the Ear Worm main song of Saint Seiya on his first transmissions) and other translated versions of anime main songs)
  • In Latin America, all names in Saint Seiya are kept except for Mascara de Muerte (a literal translation of Deathmask) and Krishaor Krista (Krishna). It also picks up the name (Caballeros del Zodiaco) and terms (Caballero/"Knight" instead of Saint and Armadura/"Armor" instead of Cloth) from the french dub.
  • In Spain, every single major character in Sailor Moon gets a Spaniard name, except Usagi and Ami, who are called "Bunny" and "Amy", like in English. The only character who maintained the Japanese name was Chibiusa.

• In Spain, the Captain Tsubasa dub used the name changes made in the French dub, with several changes so all of them would sound like English names. The show had such a deep impact in Spaniard children that when the manga arrived to Spain 15 years later using the original Japanese names, the first volumes included an appendix explaining who was who.
