Eddie and the Cruisers/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Adaptation Decay: A fair amount of the original book by P.F. Kluge was simply ignored when the screenplay was written (including the nature of the missing tapes, the poet who influenced Eddie, and the fact that Eddie was quite definitively dead). Some of this material ended up in Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives!.
  • Hollywood Geography: In Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives!, Bo Diddley (As Himself) tells a TV reporter how he played with Eddie Wilson at secret recording sessions in Lakehurst, NJ, which he describes as a "little town just outside of Newark". Lakehurst is actually located in the Pine Barrens, some 65 miles from Newark.
