Fill the Moon/Nightmare Fuel

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Fill The Moon. Just... EVERY. SINGLE. CHAPTER. THAT'S NOT FLUFF.
    • Aw, poor little naive troper. You think that's bad? Fill the Moon is a scary, scary nightmare of rape, murder, and cannibalism. Within the first nine chapters, even! Let's count the ways...
    • Hollowmoon. Just...Hollowmoon. The darkness that lives in Kingdom Hearts is one scary motherfucker. It doesn't help that he inhabits the body of the adorable little protagonist, and can come out whenever her mental barriers begin to slip...
    • Oh, and the best part? He gleefully and openly discusses wanting to rape her. She is seven. And sort of gets to, at least, during the absolute Mind Screw that is the "Taffymeat" sequence.
    • The above troper forgot to mention that Senayax is only mentally seven. Being thirteen, and thus, starting puberty, leaves her open to Xemnas ordering Zexion to impregnate her, which is a much more realistic--but no less disturbing--form of the fic's HONF.
    • Oh, and the best part? Despite the fact that Senayax considers Xemnas a father, a lot of tropers miss this little "gem"; he threatens Zexion that he'll impregnate her if he does not comply. That's right. DILP that.
  • The entirety of chapter nine. Just...all of it. The author had to change the rating on ffn to an M for that chapter--it literally induced vomiting in some of her readers!
    • Can you blame them? Considering the chapter contains such gems as Senayax gruesomely and methodically murdering a little boy who attempts to rape her with a glass bottle under Hollowmoon's influence in a homage to Pan's Labyrinth, Senayax unwittingly poisoning her grandfather, who was the only man who ever looked on her with kindness, and then being forced into eating him to survive, even after she figures out just what her parents have been feeding her...
    • Oh, and being Driven to Suicide really helped. Fucking Hollowmoon...
  • Chapter eight isn't much of a slouch either; considering it graphically depicts Hollowmoon burning down the entirety of Senayax's old home village and eating half of the residents while he does so along with aforementioned Eldritch Abomination eating a pregnant woman alive just to fuck with the Organization.
    • The best part? It works. That managed to mess with the minds of thirteen battle-hardened Badasses who have started their own fair share of carnage. It is that messed up.
  • After Ansem is reunited with his Apprentices for a time in Hollow Bastion, he takes Namine home and explains to her just how his sons lost their hearts... Despite the fact that it wildly diverges from canon, it is so horrifying that it really just doesn't matter. To wit, Hollowmoon graphically and gruesomely tears out the Apprentices' hearts and eats them. The rape subtext is blatantly, sickeningly obvious; he/it refers to all of the boys as "precious, pure virgins," and molests Ansem as he Mind Rapes the poor man. The final act of carnage is Hollowmoon reaching Ienzo, who all the other Apprentices had been trying to protect until they finally fell to Hollowmoon, and effectively simulating rape as he gives poor, seven-year-old Ienzo a bitterly false Hope Spot before tearing out his heart.
    • The best part? The only thing Hollowmoon says to Ansem after he eats his sons alive and leaves?

"That was fun. We're going to meet again sometime."

  • I don't want to go to sleep. Ever again. Hollowmoon is just sick, twisted, and wrong. Kingdom Hearts' "true form" isn't much better.
    • That's all you can muster up on Kingdom Hearts' true form? Please. If anything, it's worse than Hollowmoon. Hiding behind a thin veneer of civility as you cheerfully admit you manipulated a little girl into committing suicide does not make you very sympathetic, especially if you've just stolen said little girl's body and are now wearing it like a second skin. "Sick and wrong" does not even begin to cover it.
    • Plus, after all that Senayax had suffered because of her and her brother, Hollowmoon, tearing open her fucking uterus and eating her baby do NOT give you sympathy points. AT ALL.
    • Oh, especially not since the author has implied that Kingdom Hearts' callous little action right there might have left Senayax permanently sterile. You may return to sobbing on this poor little girl's behalf.
  • Vexen tears out Maleficent's tongue in the middle of cold rage after she wounds his "sort of kind of maybe" lover, Marluxia. Granted, it is Maleficent, and Vexen had some pretty decent justification in the form of Marluxia basically being filleted in front of his eyes, but coming from the resident Deadpan Snarker Hot Scientist who is normally much more content with building giant robots For Science!? Not cool. Not cool at all...
    • The above troper forgot; he doesn't just tear out her tongue--he wrenches off one of her horns, breaks her wings in two and tears the skin from bone, yanking her bones out of her sockets, and debates actually blinding her before he "mercifully" stabs her through the heart with the spikes on his shield. Tranquil Fury at its sickening, sickening finest...
  • Oh Jesus, the one hundred and first and one hundred and second chapters. Jesus H. Christ. The author had trouble writing them just because they were too traumatizing!
    • To sum it up; ever hear someone complain that no one can handle rape and abuse properly in fanfic? These chapters do. Next time, Be Careful What You Wish For...
    • To wit; Larxene and Lexaeus go to Halloweentown to fight the Leechgrave, already a notoriously difficult enemy. Larxene catches sight of Relane, her other self who is supposed to be dead. The Mind Screw aside, Larxene goes off by herself into the desolate, dark woods, which the author describes in lovingly morbid detail. Then the Tentaclaws find her, and drag her back to the Leechgrave. And then shit gets Mind Screw for real. For starters, the Leechgrave rapes Relane both orally and vaginally which is a symbol of Larxene's own experiences with rape. Then, when Larxene pulls a Crowning Moment of Awesome and stabs the Tentaclaw, one of the others "eats" her and traps her in the Leechgrave. And then begins the most horrifying flashback ever written in the fic. Larxene/Relane was raped and abused, as previously stated, but this reveals her husband went far beyond and above the call of a Complete Monster; he would lock her in a tiny box under the stairs with all the lights off, and no food, water, or clothing, just because of a minor offense or two. For up to three days at a time. Even after the flashback, once Larxene breaks free, the Leechgrave absorbs Relane and takes over her appearance. So Larxene is alternately fighting with and almost being raped by a hideous approximation of herself. While it mocks her and calls her a slut who deserved to be raped. Lexaeus' Crowning Moment of Awesome Curb Stomp Battle afterwards was completely justified.
