Film Festivals

Film Festivals are events where new films are shown, usually to the peers of the people who made the films although many festivals are open to the public. (Admission is rarely free; renting movie theatres and workshop spaces to hold the festivals in costs money, after all.)

The "Big Five" festivals for live-action films, as of 2020, are the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France; the Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy, the Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany, the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada and the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, USA.
