The human villains in David Eddings' The Elenium present an interesting example
- Big Bad Wannabe: Primate Annias. He really thinks he's in charge. He's not.
- Dragon-in-Chief: Martel. Ex-Pandion Knight turned mercenary, Evil Counterpart to The Hero, and the one who's really holding all the cards.
- The Brute: Adus. Dumb, violent, and unhygenic, cuts through his own men to get to Kalten.
Kalten (describing the villains so they can be located): Adus is easy. Just put armour on a gorilla and you've got him. |
- The Evil Genius: Krager, Martel's spy, and the only one to survive, due to his selling valuable information to the heroes. Martel's no slouch either in the brains department.
- The Dark Chick: Princess Arissa.
- The Load: Prince Lycheas.
- Many of the above characters double as members of another Five-Bad Band, involving the series' Big Bad and the Zemochs.
- The Big Bad: Azash. At the end of the day, he's more or less Satan.
- Co-Dragons: Martel and Emperor Otha. Yeah, Martel still manages to be Dragon-in-Chief to the Devil. It doesn't hurt that Otha's very stupid, and that Azash doesn't understand human beings at all.
- The Brute: Adus again.
- The Evil Genius: Annias. Azash's mole in the Elene Church.
- The Dark Chick: Arissa and Lycheas.
- Many of the above characters double as members of another Five-Bad Band, involving the series' Big Bad and the Zemochs.
The villains in David Eddings' The Tamuli
- The Big Bad: Klael.
- The Dragon: Cyrgon.
- The Giant Mooks: Klael's alien army.

- Even The Bible can be interpreted as having this. The villains of the Book of Revelation:
- The Big Bad: The Great Red Dragon. An Eldritch Abomination with seven heads and ten horns, he is worshiped as a god by the repressive government run by...
- The Dragon: The Beast from the Sea, a seven-headed, ten-horned monstrosity who runs the governments of Earth for the Dragon, as it is the Dragon who has given him power. When people say "The Antichrist," this is usually who they mean. Funnily enough, the Great Red Dragon is not The Dragon.
- The Evil Genius: The Beast from the Land, apparently an Evil Sorcerer type, who performs miracles to fool people into following the first Beast.
- The Dark Chick: The Mother of Harlots, at least assuming she's supposed to be a person and not a metaphorically-described place.
