Anything (in the Gravitartion fandom) by Angrybee

  • Recommended by Maxi1234
  • Commentary: I can only recommend the Author's Gravitation fics since those were the only ones I read, but… they were brilliant. And you should read them too.

Slash Fics

All of the following fics are focused on Shipping between men. You have been warned.

A Little Madness

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Yuki/Shuichi
  • Synopsis: Eiri Yuki remembers too much, and wonders if he's going insane. Shuichi helps drive him there.
  • Comments: Angst with a humorous ending. An examination into the nastiness that is Eiri Yuki's psyche and his gradual revelation that Shuichi is good for him. A companion story to this piece: The Rainy Season

Inertia [dead link]

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Tohma/Yuki
  • Synopsis: Eiri Comes to terms with his relationship with Tohma.
  • Warnings: Very NC-17.
  • Comments: This is the fandom's big important Tohma/Yuki story, and it's a splendid piece of writing. Read it while you can. The author has stormed out of fandom at least three times by my count, though this version hasn't been deleted yet, thankfully.

Metamorphosis

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Yuki/Shuichi
  • Synopsis: Shuichi torments Yuki
  • Comments: You want to read an NC-17 Yuki/Shu? Of course you do. What are you here for, anyway? This is it, the fandom's best Yuki/Shu smutfic. Also recommended is this NC-17 work by the same author: The Nudist

Crossing Dreams

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Ryuichi/Shuichi
  • Synopsis: After a concert, Shuichi has a strange encounter with Ryuichi, or so he thinks.
  • Comments: A very intense, edgy Ryuichi/Shuichi piece. Be prepared for wild humor and twisted romance.

Let's Dance

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Ryuichi/Shuichi
  • Synopsis: Shuichi gets a special dancing lesson from Ryuichi.
  • Comments: A very well-written piece describing how Ryuichi messes with Shuichi's brain (and gonads).

The Long Weekend by HRT

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Tatsuha/Ryuichi.
  • Synopsis: Tatsuha goes to Tokyo and experiences the most difficult, yet the most important weekend of his life.
  • Commentary: For fans of disguise stories. Fun romantic comedy plus a dash of angst. I recommend all works by the author, and Tat/Ryu shippers should also like: The First Kiss and Aschenmonch

On The Outside

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Tatsuha/Ryuichi
  • Synopsis: An obsession develops into something more.
  • Comments: One of the fandom's Tat/Ryu classics. Definitely recommended.

Arm Candy

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Tatsuha/Ryuichi
  • Synopsis: Tatsuha's dreams meet reality, but is he ready to face the difference between the two?
  • Comments: Another classic Tatsuha/Ryuichi. The author does a very good job with the atmosphere.

The Bet

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Yuki/Shuichi, Tatsuha/Ryuichi
  • Synopsis: After an argument, Yuki and Tatsuha find themselves locked into a bet to see who can abstain from having sex the longest. But when Shuichi and Ryuichi get in on the act, it becomes a race to the finish line.
  • Comments: A lot of good-natured fun. Of course it's NC-17.

The Off Track by Aoi Umi

  • Recommended by Solandra
  • Pairing(s): Shuichi/Yuki
  • Synopsis: Shuichi and Yuki go on a trip to America. Hilarity Ensues.
  • Comments: A simple premise is mined for cracktastic comedy gold and moments of absolute cuteness. All without Shuichi or Yuki ever being out of character.

Shooting Stars by Chained Dove

  • Recommended by Raserei Hojo
  • Pairing(s): Tohma/Eiri is the underlying one. There is also one-sided Ryuichi/Tohma, Sakano/Tohma, and Mika/Tohma. Well, and Tetsuya/Noriko.
  • Synopsis: Tohma Seguchi has had an eventful life, from the formation of Nittle Grasper to his interactions with Eiri to the later tragedies that ensue.

Spin and Dizzy by Hawk Cloud

  • Recommended by Solandra
  • Pairing(s): Tatsuha/Ryuichi, with Shuichi/Yuki on the background
  • Synopsis: Tatsuha finally gets the chance to meet his idol... but it isn't exactly what he imagined it to be.
  • Comments: One of the best explorations of what a relationship between side characters Tatsuha and Ryuichi would be like, along with enough Shuichi/Yuki scenes to keep fans of that pairing happy. Hawk Cloud's other fics are well worth reading too.

Ralphiere's LiveJournal "30 Kisses" challenge

  • Recommended by Solandra
  • Pairing(s): Shuichi/Yuki
  • Synopsis: Ralphiere's collection of her Shuichi/Yuki stories written for the LiveJournal "30 Kisses" challenge, covering a broad range of fluff, humor, angst, and smut.
  • Comments: Taken separately, each story is a well-written, easily-digestable piece. Together, they make a lovely exploration on all the layers, complexities, and fun moments of Shuichi and Yuki's relationship. (A few kisses are pure smut and pretty much all the others make some reference to boinking going on between two men. You have been warned.)

The Price of Fame by X-parrot

  • Recommended by Solandra
  • Pairing(s): Shuichi/Yuki with mentions of Hiro/Ayaka
  • Synopsis: In the author's own words: "Shuichi is educated in educated in superstardom, hotel mattresses, and the wisdom of pink bunnies."
  • Comments: Seamlessly intertwines Gravi's music and romance subplots into a whole. Most Gravi fics focus exclusively on romance, but this one also takes an insightful look into the stress of Shuichi's job and fleshes his character beyond the Keet stereotype without overstepping into OOC territory. Plus, there's that blend of drama and fluffiness that makes Gravi so appealing in the first place.

The One Who Makes Him Smile by Moon71

  • Recommended by Solandra
  • Pairing(s): Shuichi/Yuki, one-sided Yuki/Ayaka, Hiro/Ayaka
  • Synopsis: Ayaka's perspective on the events that led her to meet her fiance, his lover, and her second love.
  • Comments: Does a nice job of addressing the questions surrounding Ayaka's role in strengthening Shuichi and Yuki's relationship and her ultimate decision. Ayaka's hopes and realizations really come through clear in a first-person POV voice eerily reminiscent of what a character like her would sound like.
  • Gemmifer: It's really good. I didn't finish Graviation because I didn't like it that much and yet I enjoyed this fic a lot.

Insomnia by peroxidepest17

  • Recommended by Solandra
  • Pairing(s): Shuichi/Yuki
  • Synopsis: Yuki can't sleep. It has everything to do with being in a foreign country and suffering from sexual deprivation. It has absolutely nothing to do with Sh things he couldn't care less about. Really.
  • Comments: Yuki's in-character voice and denial (with a capital D) are hilarious. There are so many quotable lines that you'll have a hard time keeping track of them all.

Butterfly Tears by supershu-chan

  • Recommended by Maxi1234
  • Pairing: Shuichi/Ryuichi and Shuichi/Eiri. One of them is one-sided, but I'm not going to tell you which.
  • Synopsis: Bad Luck and Nittle Grasper are on tour together, and Ryuichi finds himself falling head over heels for Shuichi. And in the midst of it all, painful memories are resurfacing. Can Ryu save himself from all the perils of love?
  • Commentary: A very, very sweet glimpse into the thoughts of Ryuichi. Emotional and amazing.

Fleeting Inspiration by Anna Sartin [dead link]

  • Recommended by Lydia777
  • Pairing: Yuki/Shuichi, (Tatsuha/Ryuichi on the side)
  • Synopsis: Yuki is irate when his favorite author writes a really crappy book. Chaos Ensues.
  • Commentary: This is probably one of the most hilarious and best story of Gravitation fanfiction ever made. The characters are spot on in-character (especially Yuki) and it reads like a real short miniseries. This author is relatively famous with the series (she was on the dedication page to the published stand-alone Gravitation novels), and there's a reason why. A real recommend if you want to laugh, cry, or be awed. (The story is currently incomplete, and was last updated in 2006, but is up to nearly 50 chapters.)

Canned Pop

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Tatsuha/Suguru
  • Synopsis: After a stupid and childish incident at work, Suguru thinks his life in Bad Luck is over. But K has a plan to get him back to work with help from the most unlikely person.
  • Comments: A very sweet and skillful handling of this rare pairing.

Love Fool

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Pairing: Yuki/Shuichi, Taki/Shuichi
  • Synopsis: Yuki and Taki vies for Shuichi's love and attention. When things get out of hand, they resort to a musical showdown to end things once and for all.
  • Comments: Yes, you read that right, Taki/Shuichi. The story's a little AU-ish in that Taki, though still a prick, is not Shuichi's rapist but rather Yuki's rival for the singer's hand. Novel-length and humorous.

Humor

Wild Kissing Night

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Synopsis: Everyone is gathered at Yuki's, and Tatsuha suggests a kissing game.
  • Comments: One of the fandom's best humor pieces. By the end, Shuichi is a quivering emotional wreck.

Family by panatlantic

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Synopsis: A tentative link convinces Ryuichi that Shuichi is his son.
  • Comments: Extremely lunatic humor. Panatlantic is the author of the craziest stories in a crazy fandom, so be warned. Also recommended are: Sleeping Beauty, 24 Hours, and Dude, Where's My Car?

Mary Sue Meets Gravitation

  • Recommended by Goodwrench
  • Synopsis: The Gravitation crew encounter the worst peril of their lives.
  • Comments: Gravi is one of those rare fandoms that actually has canon slash, so the appearance of a Mary Sue is unusually annoying. If you want to see the character get a good kicking, read this.
