See what I'm getting at here? The Gundam universe (either one) has all the ingredients to be a cracking good military comedy, chock full of black humor having to do with things getting blown up that shouldn't have been and large groups of stupid people killing each other for no good reason. Like MASH with giant robots. Instead, it fails to see the humor in itself, and so by and large I find it just kind of preachy and tiresome. Duh, I know war is horrible, it's war.
