The second cable/satellite channel under the Hallmark name, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (formerly known as Hallmark Movie Channel) provides a mix of syndicated re-runs and original programming, almost completely focused on movies and mystery series. It was spun off of its sister channel in 2004, spent ten years under its original name, and was rebranded in 2014.

As of early 2016, its content not only included classic series like Columbo, Matlock, Diagnosis: Murder, Hart to Hart and Murder, She Wrote (often scheduled in blocks of multiple episodes), but also films made for the original Hallmark Channel over the past decade or so along with the occasional theatrical film like Steel Magnolias. In between these offerings, HM&M also hosts original movies and series, such as Murder, She Baked (starring Alison Sweeney), Garage Sale Mystery (starring Lori Loughlin), Flower Shop Mystery (starring Brooke Shields) and Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Like its sibling, HM&M also schedules blocks of holiday-themed programming in December, temporarily abandoning the "mysteries" part of its format in favor of drawing from decades of Hallmark holiday Made for TV Movies.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries provides examples of the following tropes:
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: It broadcasts movies and mysteries. The proportion varies from season to season, and of course many of the movies are mysteries.
  • Made for TV Movie: A large portion of its programming, both original and recycled from the Hallmark Channel.
  • Shout-Out: Its original series and movies have the occasional shout-out to their predecessors, such as Abby from Flower Shop Mystery admitting to being inspired by Murder, She Wrote.
  • Western: When it hasn't shown romance and/or mysteries, it has shown Westerns.
  • YouTube: Has an auxiliary YouTube channel.
