Halloween (film)/Awesome

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Donald Pleasence's Dr. Sam Loomis is just made of awesome, even going back to the first film where he shoots Michael Myers SIX TIMES in the chest!
  • Then later at the end of the second film, he decides to end it all by blowing himself and Myers to kingdom come via some loose oxygen tanks, but not before getting Laurie out of the room. Then he takes out his lighter, and:

Dr. Loomis: "It's time, Michael." *KA-BOOM*

    • Villainous example comes in right after the said explosion as burning Michael walks Out of the Inferno and collapses on the ground before reaching Laurie. Even in the brink of (temporary) death he was aiming to kill her.
  • The climax of The Return of Michael Myers -- Haddonfield sheriff's and other townspeople blasting Michael to kingdom come then tossing some explosions to ensure his death after Myers had fallen through a mine shaft.
  • The climax of The Revenge of Michael Myers -- Dr. Loomis, now 70-years-old, traps Michael in a metal net, shoots him with tranquilizer darts, and beats the shit out of him with a 2x4... while having a stroke, no less!
  • Similarly, in The Curse, Tommy Doyle, after spending much of his life tormented by the memory of Michael's original killing spree, beats him repeatedly with a pipe and then, in possibly the best subversion of a horror trope ever, BEATS HIM MORE when he's down.
  • A totally awesome one was in H20, when Laurie finally grow a pair and decided to take on Michael head on. It doesn't sound impressing to you? Well, almost the whole fight was one-sided... with Michael ended up on the defensive; He gets an axe and a spear slammed into his chest, a stick thrown at his head, gets stabbed several times, is knocked off a balcony and gets kneed in the groin. You could clearly see that he was both surprised and shocked by Laurie's ferocity, since he ain't used to be beaten up that hard.
    • Oh no no no, not just that, but what is possibly the CMOA of the series; Laurie chopping off Michael's head at the end. Or, it would've been if it weren't for the Retcon in Halloween: Resurrection.
    • John and Molly get a moment two, when he and Molly are in the woods running from Michael. They stop to take a breath, which is normally a big mistake in horror films. As if on Cue, Michael appears and grabs Molly. Rather than run away, John being just as brave as his mother Laurie grabs Michael's knife hand to prevent him from stabbing Molly and punching him in the face times forcing Michael to let her go and focus on him. Myers gains the upperhand and even stabs John in the leg to boot, but before he could finish him off, Molly returns the favor by bashing his head with a rock, stunning him temporarily. Allowing them both to flee despite John's new limp.
  • Freddie's Big Damn Heroes moment in Resurrection as he rushes through the door to the burning shack to save Sara.

Freddie: "Trick of treat, muthafucka!"

    • "Hey Michael! Happy Fucking Halloween!!"
  • Michael's escape in either both the normal cut or in the Director's Cut of Rob Zombie's Halloween.
    • In the normal cut, he breaks out during his prison transfer, killing the several guards transferring him, just using his brute strength and the chains on him.
    • However, in the Director's Cut two orderlies pick a female inmate to rape and decide to do it inside Michael's room, while the killer is there, making his masks. But one of them takes one of his masks and mocks him during the rape, a cathartic curb stomp ensues.
