Harley Quinn (TV series)/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: Subverted. A lot of Batman fans were turned off by how family-unfriendly, and how specially gross it is. This didn't the stop the show of getting further seasons and getting a respectable 8.5 on IMDB.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Bane for being a clever mix between his comics and The Dark Knight Rises selves.
  • Evil Is Cool: With a show foncusing on villains as the main cast, this was the intent.
  • Evil Is Sexy: Harley, obviously. Poison Ivy too sometimes, though her outfit is less risque here than in most modern versions.
  • Fandom Rivalry: With the 2020 Birds of Prey film, mostly due to the differing treatments of male characters.
  • Friendly Fandoms:
    • It has one with the Lobo cartoon due to similar style and adult-oriented humor.
    • It also has one with Gotham Girls for being Harley and Ivy focused.
  • Moral Event Horizon: In the appropriately-named episode "The Line", the Queen of Fables proves to be an irredeemable monster by siccing the Big Bad Wolf on a group of innocent civilians for no reason, and then as if that weren't enough, summons the Three Little Pigs to devour their remains. Harley and her crew are horrified by this cruel action; Killer Shark even throws up at the mere memory of it.
  • Tainted by the Preview: When the teaser was first shown, people were disappointed by the strong language but that was before the rest of the show was showcased.
  • Tough Act to Follow: A lot of fans were disappointed that Mark Hamill didn't sign on to do the Joker's voice this time, but Alan Tudyk does a pretty decent job.
  • What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: While it features fan-favorite Harley Quinn, it is filled with strong language, graphic violence and sexual content.
