How I Learned to Love The Wild Horse is a crossover between Ranma ½ and Totally Spies!, written by an author who goes variously by "Romulus Firewine" and "janusmaxwell". It is based on the premise of Ranma running away from Nerima and ending up in Beverly Hills.

As of November 2017 the story has 5 chapters totaling around 150k+ words but is still incomplete.

Tropes used in How I Learned to Love The Wild Horse include:

• Atomic F-Bomb: When Sam learns that Ranma is in Beverly Hills as a form of Witness Protection and furthermore is a potential WOOHP recruit, despite the initial intel painting him as some sort of terrorist leader, Sam uses a spy gadget to scream Fuck as loud as she can without being noticed, since she, Clover, and Alex were secretly spying on Ranma at the time. Her outrage mostly stems from the fact that she believed he really was a terrorist and in an effort to protect her friends, she made Clover break-up with him.
• Berserk Button: Several get pressed in this story. Ranma assuming (correctly) that Clover was spying on him, Clover believing Ranma cheated on her, (That is, with someone besides Alex because she was fine with that) while Alex hearing Mandy proposition Ranma for some revenge sex after he breaks up with Clover almost managed to push her Berserk Button down all the way, but didn't quite make it.
• Bigger Is Better in Bed: Downplayed as a whole, with multiple women making it clear that above average is nice but there is such a thing as too much. In Chapter 4 Donna tells Arnold (whose only experience with sex is watching hentai) that the odds a woman can take 9+ inches are about the same as the odds a man has that much: incredibly low.
  • She also warns him against believing that a woman's cervix is an automatic orgasm button, and guys with large enough equipment should press it as often and as hard as possible.

• Eating the Eye Candy: Ranma's an athletic martial artist and it shows in his physique. And all three spies are VERY appreciative of said physique. To a somewhat hilarious and ridiculous degree in Alex's case in chapter 2.
• The Immodest Orgasm: All three of the spies have had these with Ranma, though more for the circumstances involved instead of him being just that damn good. Or course, he's had a few as well, mostly with the more "experienced" Clover.
• Intercontinuity Crossover: It's an anime being mixed with a western animation, although the implication is that Nerima is merely one (rather isolated) part of the world of Totally Spies. It's not a perfect fit, but when you take into account how weird both series are (not to mention how much Fetish Fuel they both have) it's not a difficult pill to swallow.
• Lemon: Of a somewhat classic variety, since Ranma 1/2 is one of the oldest franchises to produce fanfics using this term.
• Opposites Attract: As if it couldn't be guessed from the Bigger Is Better in Bed example, Tomboy Biker Babe Donna hooks up with the Adorkable nerd Arnold after the two bond over a love of anime.
• Porn With Plot: The story is unapologetically pornographic, but each chapter ends up being half-plot to half-smut, with bits of plot interspersed through the naughtier bits. Case in point, Alex doing some spying through Ranma's belongings while Clover distracts him during their ménage à trois.
• Spy Cam: Several are used throughout the story. A series of cameras spread through Ranma's apartment, which were used by Clover for a bit of self-love before she went out with Ranma, then to let Alex know she could join the two of them afterwards. And a dime-sized ladybug camera that was used to watch Dominique and steal the memorycard for her camera when she secretly taped Alex and Ranma in the high school showers.
• Stinger: A somber one at the end of chapter 5. While Ranma is ready to start a happy, fulfilling relationship with 3 girls in Beverly Hills, someone back in Nerima is missing him.
• Three-Way Sex: Ranma, Clover, and Alex in chapter 3, and the ending to same at the start of chapter 4.
