Human-lovers Committee

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

HitoMoe Iinkai or Human-lovers Committee is a hentai manga that explores the rather freaky concept that our pets really LOVE US.....If You Know What I Mean.

So much so, they want to be more human to do so, while we become more like them in return ... even if the downsides negate the upsides of the transformation and the process causes great terror and violation for the transformee.

Tropes used in Human-lovers Committee include:

  • Baleful Polymorph: Only affects humans who become more animal like. The animals who become humanoid avert this trope almost entirely.
  • Broken Masquerade; By the end of the story, humanity has become very much aware of how animals have transformed, as well as how humans can do the same.
  • But You Screw One Goat: Partially averted. While the animals in question do want to sleep with their masters, it's always done in humanoid form, where it's basically confirmed they have become human/animal hybrids.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Invoked to horrifying extremes by some of the more sadistic animals by manipulating the fact the first animal who has sex with a human causes the transformation to be altered so that multiple animals DNA is added to initial transformation, resulting in transformed humans who sadly resemble this trope.
  • Freaky Is Cool: Those humans that aren't scared shitless of the transformed animals feel this way about transforming themselves.
  • History Repeats Itself: The entire story is revealed to be this way. The original Human Lovers Committee was itself once human, but they were turned into animals themselves long ago, and it's revealed the original vectors of the werecreature transformations essentially did to them what they and the other werecreatures did to the rest of humanity.
  • Love Redeems: While most of the animals involved in the above trope are unarguable Complete Monsters, one is found by a human who not only forgives his actions, but convinces him to abandon his evil ways, and he becomes a truly loving father to the children of his now willingly transformed human lover.
  • Mad Scientist: Both the initial protagonists and the Complete Monsters of the story engage in this, though the former only wants to learn the limits of the transformations and ceases once they accomplish this, while the real monsters don't want to stop and continue those experiments to sickening extremes on captive humans.
  • Mood Dissonance: The story shifts between being almost sappily romantic to being downright horrifying many times in quick succession.
  • Power at a Price: The humans who transform lose most to all of their memories as a human if they are transformed. Later revealed this is not necessarily permanent by story's end, and is heavily implied most of the negative effects are avoided when the transformation is consensual.
    • Laser Guided Amnesia; The amnesiac effect acts like this trope, which is in some ways a blessing as it cancels out most of the trauma from the initial rape that transforms them.
  • Rape Is Love: Most of the initial protagonists do genuinely love their human masters, but this trope is the only way they can initially think of to show it. Once they discover the animals trying to invoke the Eldritch Abomination trope on unwilling humans, they are utterly horrified, develop consciences, and devote themselves to stopping them and redirect most of their efforts towards protecting their masters and other innocent humans from harm.
  • The Sociopath: The initial Human lovers Committee is largely composed of these. Most either become legitimately heroic, or at the very least get Hoist By Their Own Petard and develop some degree of conscience after a Heel Realization save possibly one of them, if the very last scenes in the final pages mean anything.. Most of the Complete Monsters (save one) don't, but the one that does gets a full Heel Face Turn.
