- Klaus' question at the beginning of the second volume: 'Did you end up dirty like this because all night long you were holding me?'
- Taki bringing Klaus back to life with a Kiss of Life juxtaposed with Klaus in a vision telling her little sister that he is leaving because he 'found his only rose' and Taki tearfully saying 'Welcome home' when he opens his eyes. These moments are all bittersweet when you consider that they are in a war and the relationship between Klaus and Taki isn't exactly trouble free.
