I'm a Marvel... and I'm a DC/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Arc Fatigue: "Zero Hour" is taking over a year to complete. Everyone lampshades this sometimes.
  • And the Fandom Rejoiced: Finally, Captain America seems to be a more important character. Who else is thrilled?
  • Badass Decay: Green Goblin and possibly Lex Luthor.
  • Non Sequitur Scene: The Goblin's Lebowski-inspired hallucination.
  • Complete Monster: The Joker may be shaping up to be one, starting with his Moral Event Horizon. After finding out Harley was secretly helping the Green Goblin, the Joker shoots her. Later, after tricking the heroes into thinking The Punisher shot him, the Joker leads Harley away as they try to escape. The Joker assures Harley he wasn't going to leave her there to die...and then hits her to the ground, saying this is a much better spot. When he comes back from the dead in Rorsarch and Deadpool 2, he kills a mook who sold him out in a very painful and thankfully offscreen manner, then shoots Rorsarch.
  • Crazy Awesome: Deadpool, but special mention has to be made for trying to use his yellow text boxes against Green Lantern.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: All the deadpool songs, and now this
  • Ear Worm: Deadpool's songs. "RORSCHACH AND DEADPOOOOOOOOL!"
    • Also Iron Man's "Continuity" jingle.
    • This is a ringtoooooooone, so pick up the phoooooooone.
    • Spidey's song about Disney turning all the Marvel characters Lighter and Softer.
    • NOLAN! NOLAN! CHRIS, CHRIS, NOLAN!
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: The local version of the Green Goblin is just hilarious to watch.
    • Ever since his introduction, Deadpool has become just as popular, maybe even moreso.
    • Lars M. Dusseldorf is probably a truer version of this trope, as since their popularity became apparent Deadpool and Gobby have been pushed increasingly to the fore, whereas we can be assured that Lars is not going to take centre stage. But he is very, very awesome.
  • Excuse Plot: Deadpool thinks the whole setup for the "Rorschach & Deadpool" Sitcom might be:

Rorschach: What are you doing here?
Deadpool: Well I think I'm suppose to say I got hired to pop this guy's boss, but personally I think I'm here because our Theme Song became a minor internet meme. Gotta give the people what they want!

Rorschach: What?

Deadpool: I know, right? You wanna put us together, fine, but at least justify it! I mean, where are we, anyway? Is this my world, is it yours? Does this have anything to do with the Hero Bar?

Rorschach: Spider-Man and the others don't seem to think so, but something about this man we're looking for feels off to me.

Deadpool: Ooo, Continuty!

  • Fridge Brilliance: In the Rorscach & Deadpool Buddy Cop parody, the pair are on the trail of a mysterious crime figure named Joe Palachi, who turns out to be The Joker, and more specifically the humorless 80's one from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. There are about three layers of brilliance to this, one of which Joe himself admitted to being the reason he picked it:
    • Firstly, Palachi, whilst being a sort-of common Italian surname, is also a reference to the opera Pagliacci, and the lead character of the same name (it is sometimes called Palachi's Opera). That was a subtle clue as to Joe Palachi's true identity.
    • Secondly, this is a Watchmen reference and specifically a Rorschach reference, since in the comic Rorschach tells someone about a joke he heard about Pagliacci.
    • And third, the joke is about how the great clown Pagliacci is utterly depressed and miserable because he has come to view the planet as a Crapsack World, which perfectly reflects the fact that The Joker pretending to be Joe Palachi is the most serious, unfunny Joker ever put to print:

"Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life is harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor... I am Pagliacci.""

    • Another example is just in the pairing of those two Deadpool is a walking Satire/Parody of comic books antiheroes/anti-villains , whilst Rorschach is a Deconstruction of the Anti-Hero/Anti-villains.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: There was a story arc in I'm Marvel and I'm DC about Tony Stark feeling jealous of Batman's new movie taking his spotlight. So, Batman trained Iron Man in being a detective. Guess who played Sherlock Holmes in the 2009 movie?
    • So the trailer for the 2011 DC Universe Online premiered recently and in it a future Lex Luthor traveled back in time to warn the heroes that the world would be destroyed if they didn't stop him. Sound familiar? Hilariously enough, RandomGuy lampshaded this in a recent BlogTV chat:

Random Guy: I'm not saying they got it from us but...CALLED IT! WHOO!

  • I Knew It!: For the people who guessed that season three would be called "Zero Hour."
  • Memetic Mutation: Several things, often from a Running Gag or two.
    • "DAFOOOOOOOOOE!"
    • "RORSCHACH AND DEADPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!"
    • "That's NOT a pocket!"
    • "Dude. 'Sup." or "Dude. Sucks."
    • From their BlogTV shows - Blaming Soundwave for any Technical Difficulties.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The Joker, naturally, crosses this in the final episode of "Happy Hour". After finding out Harley was secretly helping the Green Goblin, the Joker shoots her. Later, after tricking the heroes into thinking The Punisher killed him, the Joker leads Harley away as they try to escape. The Joker assures Harley he wasn't going to leave her there to die...and then tosses her aside, saying this is a much better spot.
  • Ruined FOREVER: ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's YouTube channel, after he uploaded a year's worth of parody videos and "lost" episodes instead of finishing "Zero Hour".
  • Shallow Parody: The movie trailer parodies sometimes fall into this, usually by copying the trailer and adding jokes based on which character replaced who.
  • Squick: Deadpool apparently started a website dedicated to Golden Girls slash fan fiction.
    • It's also a Shout-Out to comic book Deadpool's unhealthy love of Bea Arthur.
  • Tear Jerker: Watch the first video, which personifies Spider-Man as the best qualities of Marvel movies, in tandem with the short where Batman and the Avengers express no interest at all in Spider-Man's reboot.
  • Unfortunate Implications: Whenever someone quotes the most infamous line of All-Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder, RandomGuy censors, "God," but not, "damn."
