All 15 group members with pterosaur Zans

Jura Tripper (Kyōryū Bōken Jura Tripper) is an anime series from 1995, loosely based on the novel Two Years' Vacation by Jules Verne.

During an excursion with their boat, a group of 15 young marine club members, aged between approximately 6 [1] and 20 years, is transported to a strange world, inhabited by both humans and several kinds of dinosaurs. They quickly befriend talking pterosaur Zans and native woman Manua.

While trying to find a way back home, they learn about the strange new world in which they're stranded, discovering that the people and dinosaurs suffer from oppression by the king as well as the church's prohibition of science. They get into conflict with General Mosar, who is interested in their advanced technology and consequently have to flee from the king's army as well as the priests who try to capture Zans, who incidentally is the son of White Wing, the famous but deceased leader of the rebellion.

Tropes used in Jura Tripper include:
  • Action Girls: Tiger and Manua
  • The Big Guy: Tank
  • Dub Name Change: Some characters have been renamed in the English version. Since most names are courtesy titles, they were more or less just translated:
    • Hime = Princess
    • Hakase = Doctor
      • In the German dub, all names were translated into English words. While Kashira and Shachou apparently kept their Japanese names in the English version, they were renamed "Boss" and "President" in the German dub.
  • Five-Man Band: of course there are more characters involved in the plot but there are main characters among them and four of them fit the trope. Doc / Hakase is not such an important character but she fits the definition of The Smart Guy to a T.
  • Hot Scientist: Doc (Hakase)
  • Jerkass: God
  • Lethal Chef: Princess (Hime)
  • Love Triangle: Princes (Hime, her fiancé God and Kashira
  • Love Interest: Princess (Hime)
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Tiger and Shachou develop feelings for each other toward the end of the series.
  • Meaningful Name: Applies to more or less all characters in the animé.
  • One of the Boys: Tiger is the only girl of the group to join the guys in dangerous activities.
  • Talking Animal: Zans and a few other dinosaurs can talk. It's apparently a rare genetically inheritable trait.
  • Trapped in Another World: all of them are trapped on Noah, the dinosaur planet
  • Tsundere: Princess (Hime)
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Tiger is the only girl sporting shorts; all other female scouts wear skirts.
