"Doing what's right isn't always what's fashionable!"

When aspiring fashion designer Charlotte Vanders is struck by radio-active space debris, she gains the ability to manipulate electrical energy. Realising her potential to help others (and maybe sell some outfits on the side) she adopts the identify of Kamen America.

Charlotte soon discovers she is not the only one affected by the space debris, and with her new sisterhood forms the Kamen Corps to help battle evil, all look good doing it.

Created by Timothy Lim and Mark Pellegrini in 2020, Kamen America frequently crosses over with their other series Black Hops and Soulfinder.

Tropes used in Kamen America include:
  • Affectionate Parody: of both Sailor Moon and Carol Danvers.
    • The Danvers parodies are most obvious with Warhen, Charlotte's first alter-ego. As well as having a suspiciously-similar name to Danvers' Warbird' identity, Warhen dresses like Danvers' more famous moniker, Captain Marvel.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Meteor is a rare example of the villain winning, before choosing to join the hero.
  • In the Name of the Moon: "To prove the justice of our culture, we will vanquish you!"
  • Not So Different: Kamen America's appeal to Meteor is issue 1.
    • Charlotte and Sylvia's realisation in issue 3.
  • Transformation Sequence: Unusual for a Magical Girl-inspired series, transformations are very rapid, mostly just amounting to a hair-color change.
