Kim Possible/Fanfic Recs

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Proof that the remaining 10% is worth dying for here:

These are recommendations made by Tropers for Fan Fics, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be Zapped (wiki). Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into homosexual or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Authors, and Websites

MrDrP

  • Recommended by Bryce Bryans
  • Pairings: Kim/Ron almost religiously, other pairings done solely as spoofs.
  • Dialogue sticks close to the original flavor and more Continuity Nods than you can shake a stick at. Many short humor/supplemental works, but at least three lengthy pieces.

Commander Argus

  • Recommended by theschwab 34
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Ron.
  • He has sadly passed on but his stories will forever live on.

Cloudmonet

  • Recommended by theschwab 34
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Ron.
  • The stories he has written are consistent with each other and with the actual show through the end of Season Three and “So the Drama.” They're not necessarily horribly inconsistent with season 4 either if you allow for the possibility that some of the secondary character couplings seen in the party at the end of "Graduation" may not have lasted that long.

Yvj

  • Recommended by theschwab 34
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Ron.
  • A great writer.

Ninnik Nishukan

  • Recommended by Doug S Machina
  • Pairings: Devoted to Drakken/Shego, with occasional Kim/Ron when they appear in supporting roles.
  • Probably the queen of Drakken/Shego shippers, Ninnik Nishukan writes Drakken and Shego as adults (mostly), slowly accruing a relationship as long as they don't look at it directly. Often, the only thing they'd find worse than putting up with each other would be not having each other to put up with. Not counting that annoying cheerleader, of course, though Kim doesn't appear in Ninnik's stories much, which tend to take place between evil plans. Maslow, for instance, is set before or after several of the show's episodes. Usually quite comic with deeper emotion, and a good ear for dialogue.

Mattk

  • Recommended by Dan
  • Pairings: Kim/Ron and Drakken/Shego, with hints of other pairings appearing every once in a while.
  • A very good writer who never forgets the characters that may happen to be running around in the background, and is very good at writing solid characters with their good and bad points. Also deserves mention as one of the few writers who's managed to write a Cosmic Horror that actually felt like it without going overboard.

Slyrr

Blackbird

  • Recommended by Alexlayer
  • Pairings: Kim/Shego mostly, some others alternative pairings as well.
  • A writer that has earned his place here by the popular series of fanfics he has written, with the most famous one being Maternal Instinct. Witty dialogues that are reminiscent to the show, good character portrayal to even background characters, and unusual situations are just some of the elements that make his stories more than enjoyable readings.

Pigblossom

  • Recommended by Doug S Machina
  • Pairings: Oh, yes.
  • Crack shipper extraordinaire, Pigblossom's speciality is hilarious and sometime quite wrong off-beat pairings, mostly played for copious humour (with a few in rhyme), though some are well-crafted emotional dramas instead.

King in Yellow

  • Recommended by Alexlayer
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Shego.
  • With fast and flowing narration, interesting portrayals, exploring of most characters, and constantly written even up to today, he has written one of the longest and most well known series in the fandom, "Best Enemies". Honestly recommended.

Captainkodak1

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Ron
  • One of the most prolific writers in the entire fandom (137 stories and counting), and one of its longest-running too. Definitely deserves a spot here.

StarvingLunatic

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: Mostly femmeslash. Kim, Shego or Bonnie are likely to be involved in some way.
  • Another insanely prolific author, Starving has earned her massive audience through interesting ideas, a very good update schedule, and the ability to drown readers in millions of words and still leave them wanting more. While she has dismissed her writing as average prose, what makes her work interesting is the mad onrush of ideas and the sheer volume and ambition of each and every story. Highly recommended.

Zaratan

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: All over the place. Mostly Kim/Ron and Ron/Bonnie. He also invented the Shego/Barkin pairing that was later briefly made canon.
  • One of the driving forces behind the fandom, and the mastermind behind the Fannie Awards. If you haven't heard of him already, you're either very new to the fandom or you've been hiding under a rock.

TempestDash

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: Kim/Ron and Kim/Shego, though it really depends on the story.
  • One of the most talented authors in the fandom, even if he has a tendency to disappear for long periods of time. Has an epic-yet-poetic writing style that is a joy to read, and he really knows how to plot out a story. Very much worth checking out.

cpneb

  • Recommended by theschwab 34
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Ron and Wade/Joss, though there are gems of others pairings throughout his series including some rather cracktastic ones.
  • This author was one of the big authors of the fandom. His stories, like he was, are full of heart, humor, and a touch of naughtiness. There are several universes that he has created, each one having a deep history. His ability to convey and evoke emotion are second to none. You would be hard pressed to not find something in his writings that you like. Sadly, he died April 2010 and with him went some of the heart of the Kimmunity.

Screaming Phoenix

  • Recommended by The Schwab 34
  • Pairings: Mostly Kim/Ron
  • Sadly he has passed away but his writings will forever keep his spirit alive. A huge Kim/Ron shipper.

General Fics

Nights in the Big City by Mr Wizard. (AU mixed in)

  • Recommended by Doug S Machina
  • Synopsis: Go City cop Sergeant Sacha Barkin meets two kids from way out of town: Kim and Ron, crossed over into an alternate universe with no supervillains or superheroes, where the World Wars and breakup of colonial empires never happened. While looking for a way for Kim and Ron to return home, they get tangled up in plots involving a new drug on the streets and international espionage.
  • Comments: In Spite of a Nail, virtually every member of the extended cast appears in a recast role, and always for a good reason. Sacha Barkin's character builds on Mr Wizard's previously developed background for Shego, giving her depth and a whole other life with a family.

Booyahahahahaha! by MrDrP

  • Recommended by Doug S Machina
  • Pairing(s): Kim/Ron
  • Synopsis: Kim and Ron feel overworked, unpaid and unappreciated, so (for slightly flimsy reasons, but never mind that) they decide to go bad and take on the world, from stealing from the mall, on to enacting revenge on all who have crossed them, and on to taking over the world!
  • Comments: Written before season four with Continuity Nods all over the place, this fantastic story runs increasingly wild until everything comes to a satisfyingly manic climax.

Not Quite Heroes by MatthewC

  • Recommended by Neo The Saiyan Angel
  • Synopsis: One of Drakken's inventions is been stolen by a secret organization and Drakken and Shego pursue it, eventually ending up saving the world from the very device which they'd wished to conquer it with.
  • Comments: One of the (non-shippy) few stories which focuses on Drakken and Shego. It has a solid plot and plenty of action for the adrenaline junkie. The author apparently abandoned plans to add a "Ten Years Later" epilogue, but the story proper is complete.

Small Surprises, Big Consequences by Trackula.

  • Recommended by Alexlayer
  • Synopsis: Kim meets a little girl who asks her to take her to Shego, and against her will and best judgment, the teen hero ends up doing. The surprises were really not small. As for the consequences? Well, see it for yourself.
  • Comments: Possibly presenting one of the most original and surprising twist a fanfic could ever show, not to mention making it amazingly plausible. Interested in a series of revelations about your favorite villain you would never expect? This story is for you.

Undercover by Michael Howard

  • Recommended by unwrittenaria
  • Synopsis: Three weeks after "Emotion Sickness" and three weeks before "So The Drama" Kim and Ron go on a mission unlike any other. The world's only Kim Possible/Gilmore Girls/Cthulhu Mythos Crossover is now complete.
  • Comments: K/R but man this fic has everything. Easily some of the best Kim Ron banter in the whole site. Everything builds up to an unbelievable climax. Can't be recommended enough. It also "fits" into canon rather seamlessly, which given the nature of the crossover elements is definitely praiseworthy.

Disappearing Doctor by TempestDash

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Synopsis: Senior Year for Kim and Ron is proving to be a whirlwind of changes. Things are further complicated when Kim gets a hit on her website to help find a missing person who's actually a villain!
  • Comments: A very enjoyable, action packed prologue to the author's Magnum Opus, Apocolocyntosis (which at the moment is unfortunately a Dead Fic). Turns rather dark in the last chapter, but is an amazing read.

Paragon by jao

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Synopsis: It's up to Ron to open Kim's eyes to the evil things Josh is hiding... or is it all in Ron's mind?
  • Comments: Very creepy and well-written Dark Fic that involves Ron being given the ability to see dead people... by Josh Mankey. Has kind of a Downer Ending, but after the stuff Kim and Ron go through in this, you'll find it couldn't have ended any other way.

So The Melodrama by Sleeves of White Snow

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Synopsis: Once again Kim Possible has saved the world. She's even begun a relationship with Ron Stoppable. Her life is perfect. Well, maybe not. A crisis of conscience begins to overwhelm Kim, and only one person can help her overcome it: Shego.
  • Comments: A very well-written examination of Kim's actions in So the Drama that results in the two reaching an understanding and helps explain why Shego doesn't seem to have any grief over the event in Season 4.

She Goes With Me by RavenStarfire

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Synopsis: The day after Dr. Drakken's Lil' Diablo fiasco, another incident occurs, leaving Kim simultaneously lost in her past & in her future – whilst discovering something that forever changes her relationship with Shego.
  • Comments: Very well-written one-shot with an interesting twist: through the magic of Time Travel, Kim ends up being Shego's mother. Has a sequel called No Thief Like My Thief that is worth reading as well. Can be disturbingly violent at times, as per the author's wont, but is still an amazing story.

The Stepbrother Sitch by Owennumber1fan

  • Enjoy now in all it's pagey goodness.
  • Recommended by Super Miz
  • Synopsis: When she learns that Drakken is up to no good in a place called Danville, Kim Possible, along with Ron, travel there to stop him and meet a very creative pair of stepbrothers, their incredibly hyper sister and an odd ally.
  • Tags: Crossover, humor.

Revenge Is A Dish Best Served By Me by Fighting Chicken

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Synopsis: Señor Senior, Jr. and Bonnie break up. Bonnie is not amused. Who is in her crosshairs?
  • Comments: A well written and highly in character (it could pass for an actual episode) humor fic in which Bonnie decides sweet revenge is in order after her perfect life is taken away, and Junior and Team Possible are on her list. To do this, she must feign interest in joining Team Possible, and work with them until she and a mysterious benefactor who saw her rantings online can land them in a death trap, in turn creating the notion that a no name, honorless villain eliminating Team Possible would discredit and humiliate real villains such as the Seniors (killing two birds with one stone). Unlike the overall tone of the story, this fic features a remarkably dark ending.

Life At The Top by DoofusPrime

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Synopsis: Drakken's dream of world domination comes true. As Kim Possible and Shego find themselves dealing with unfamiliar new lives, they must discover how to get what they want when circumstances spiral beyond their control.
  • Comments: If you've ever wondered what it would be like if Drakken and Shego pulled off a plan so effective that there was no hope of their defeat, this is for you. Basically they concoct a Zombie Apocalypse of sorts, in this case using multiple storm generator machines to spread a modified version of Drakken's mind control shampoo all across the world. Shego, the sadistic C-word that she is, decides to administer Kim the antidote to the chemical just so she can see her suffer in attempting to fight back, and watching as potential ally holdouts such as Global Justice fall one by one. And before long, Kim is truly and utterly alone in the world. How can one fight against that? You actually don't, as detailed in the below paragraph. Yep, it's a rather dark story alright.
    • Don't be misled by the synopsis and character tag of Kim/Shego. The plasma wielder is most definitely NOT on Kim's side in this one and in full cartoon persona. At least until a year of this goes by and a certain trope kicks in when Shego decides she's had enough of no longer having a purpose in life, and also enough of watching her rival become a hollow shell of herself.

Getting Back to Normal by cpneb

  • Recommended by theschwab 34
  • Synopsis: little piece of normal for the Mrs. Possible and Stoppable: getting to go back to the grocers after the Lowardian invasion was defeated.
  • Comments: One-Shot.
    • Come come now. This story is more than just a mere one-shot. It takes place in the 'Birth, and Rebirth' universe, a universe that focuses on healing after the Lorwardian invasion and how things go before, during, and after. This one-shot is a nice slice of life that is part humor, part sexy, and all entertaining. This is a solid piece that is a good sample from cpneb's collection of his style and quality of writing.

Lost Friends by King Of Anime

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Synopsis: After having numerous nightmares seemingly detailing that something very bad is going to happen to Kim and Ron on their honeymoon, Bonnie is invited to their wedding, but decides not to mention her visions. The ship indeed vanishes without a trace, and Bonnie is so shaken up by it she enrolls in the police academy to atone. Ten years pass, and Bonnie is now a well respected detective, who finally puts the past behind her after some encouragement from Tara. Then the cruise ship reappears...
  • Comments: A story where Bonnie is not only the main character, but a full on good guy (er, gal). Well written and engaging, and also tosses out some interesting "what ifs" stemming from a world without Team Possible. Bonnie's characterization is a bit jarring (she starts off having mellowed out greatly by the wedding, and ends up outright heroic after the time skip), but also refreshing given her usual self centered attitude. However, YMMV on the second half of the story, the climax, and definitely will on the ending (see below for details).
    • May contain time travel, 17th century mages with an affinity for stealing lifeforce, and a reset button.

The World Must Never Know by fulwiz.

  • Recommended by Alexlayer
  • Synopsis: Kim Possible claims to be just a basic, average, girl. Yet she can stand toe to toe against the greatest villains of her time. There is a secret behind Kim's success. Someone wants that secret covered up. Permanently.
  • Comments: This story has one piece of mystery, conspiracy and background that will likely get you hooked throughout all of it. It explores many, many characters and jumps back and forth in time, but it has a really good pace and narrative that will keep you from getting lost. If you’re in for a loaded piece of reading, you should definitely give this a try.

Kim Possible: 2.0 by LJ58

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Synopsis: Kim Possible may not be human! How else could she dodge lasers, or do the things she does? But now everyone knows, and suddenly Global Justice wants KP more than ever as an increasingly hostile world wants to find out the depths of her secrets!
  • Comments: Thanks to Shego's paranoia (and a video camera) regarding Global Justice and its one eyed leader, Kim is able to avoid a plot to lure her into their clutches so they can run experiments on her and find out why she's so special turns out her great great grandparents were given special powers by aliens, thus granting the same thing to their descendants. After a year on the run from Dr. Director and GJ, Kim has enough and joins forces with Shego. With Wade's help, the pair work to publicly humiliate the spy agency with evidence of their increasingly heavy handed and draconian behavior, and even find out the agency is imprisoning others with special abilities. And that's when you find out this story is an X-Men crossover.
    • Has a sequel, Kim Possible: X Factor that picks up directly where 2.0 leaves off. They're more or less two halves of one story. It later gets into Kigo elements, but isn't officially a shipping fic. The story is entertaining, and it's also amusing watching Kim and Dr. Director trying to out-Xanatos each other. Even when it's revealed the story is an X-Men crossover, it stays surprisingly well written.

Kim Possible: Devil's Child by LJ58

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Synopsis: Kim is leading GJ after Shego who has been missing over ten years now. She finds Shego. And Shego's child. And now Shego wants a favor.
  • Comments: Or rather Kim is working for GJ, not leading it. Anyway, set roughly 12 years after Graduation, Global Justice has finally cornered the off-the-grid Shego, and find she not only has a daughter named Angela, but is terminally ill, and has been for years. Kim refuses orders to execute them, and winds up on GJ's hit list as well. With help from Wade, along with incredibly advanced tech reverse engineered from the Lorwardians, Shego is cured, and the three gals go on the run, with colossal douchebag Will Du on their heels. It also turns out that the tech and a decade of experience has allowed Kim Batman levels of preparation, much to Mr. Du's annoyance.
    • Has a now completed sequel, Devil's Child Redux set two weeks after the first story. These fics are similar to 2.0/X Factor in that Kim and Shego are on the run from GJ, only this time the villain is Will Du and not Dr. Director. Dr. Drakken later assumes the role with his plant powers seen in Graduation. Also similar are some Kigo elements, but more focus on the adventuring. The writing style is the same, but with a few more spelling errors, and an odd tendency for characters to refer to each other in ways they normally wouldn't, such as Shego frequently using Kim's full name, and both Kim and Shego sometimes referring to Drakken as Drew. Of course, this can be chalked up to over a decade of maturity something that is most apparently seen in Ron, now the no-nonsense head of Yamanouchi.

Where Have All the Villains Gone? by Ryan Phelan

  • Recommended by Queen Cynder
  • Synopsis: After Drakken comes back from vacation at "Paradise Valley", he's acting... different. Soon, the other villains start acting strange as well. Shego decides to get to the bottom of this, and discovers some shocking secrets about Paradise Valley.
  • Comments: First off, when I read this, I hadn't read any Kim Possible fan fiction for about a year. This fan fic was awesome. Everyone was perfectly in character, and the plot felt realistic to the style of the show, and is generally intriguing. It teases at multiple ships, Shego/Junior and Shego/Drakken being the most obvious, but overall is not ship-centered, and is just a fun fic to read.

Victory at Last by Ryan Phelan

  • Recommended by White Bear
  • Synopsis: Drakken wins, and feels the need to announce his victory to the world, much to the embarrassment of Shego.
  • Comments: Not quite what you think it is...saying anything more would be spoiling the punchline, so just read it.

The Hyde Factor by Erin Mills

Alternate Universe (AU) Fics

A Bond of Honor by JP Mod

  • Recommended by CMR Rosa
  • Synopsis: Ron and Yori start a relationship after "Gorilla Fist", adding a new factor into Kim and Ron's friendship as well as Team Possible.
  • Pairing(s): Ron/Yori
  • This story has been inspired by my Ron/Yori art of them kissing at the prom. I knew the only way such a scenario would happen is that Ron and Yori have gotten together at the end of "Gorilla Fist" and Yori moved to Middleton. So my brain thought of the possibilities of what might happen if Yori was in the picture in "So the Drama". The situations would not be the same, as we knew in the TV series. Consider this story an AU from "Gorilla Fist" onward. :)

Horny Lil' Devils by Chaosengine (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Synopsis: Ron and his buddy are imps from Hell who are sent to torment Kim.
  • Comments: The Crack Fic to end all Crack Fics. The premise is just as ridiculous as it sounds, but it's the hilarious kind of ridiculous that will have you laughing all the way through. Does everything in its power to defile the original canon while still being tongue-in-cheek about it, and actually comes off as rather sweet at points. Unfortunately a Dead Fic, as the author hasn't updated in years. Still worth reading, though.

Possibility Engine by TempestDash

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Synopsis: What if what IS and what COULD BE were one and the same? Kim is thrown into a maelstrom of possible realities and must rely on her wits, and a little help from some alternate versions of her friends, if she's ever going to find her way home.
  • Comments: Takes the premise of Sliders and applies it to KP, doing an awesome job of it in the process. Not quite Kigo, though the two of them do form an uneasy friendship necessitated by the strange circumstances. Has a side-story called Contagion that links it to one of the author's other universes, as well as a non-canon one-shot called The LAST Thing You Wanted to Read, which takes place in a reality where Ron has somehow become Deadpool . A sequel, The Demon of Go City, has finally appeared, though it hasn't been updated in a while.

Shipping Fics

Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

Maslow by Ninnik Nishukan

  • Recommended by Tabby
  • Pairing(s): Drakken/Shego
  • Synopsis: What do you NEED? Different aspects of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs applied to Drakken and Shego's daily lives in no particular order. Add a spoonful of uncomfortable silences, and we're good to go... Or to put it another way, it's a series of post-episode tags and other little moments that slowly build into a portrait of Drakken and Shego's relationship and follow it from grudging respect to friendship and—very, very gradually—beyond.
  • Comments: This is one of the definitive Drakken/Shego fics, and it has finally been completed. Rarely "adult" in the euphemistic sense—there's a moment or two here and there—but impressive in the way it still treats Drakken and Shego like grown-ups.
    • The Maslow Supplemental adds a few extra scenes set in the first three seasons, in the same style but more self-contained.

In the Hands of a Hack by King In Yellow (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Fleb
  • Pairing(s): Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: A parody of contrived Kigo stories, with hints of more genuine Kigo (which the author's obviously a fan of).
  • Comments: Hilarious, especially the ending.

Wedding by Cloudmonet

  • Recommended by theschwab 34.
  • Pairing(s): Kim/Ron
  • Synopsis: Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable get married.
  • Comments: A wonderful portrayal of Kim and Ron's wedding day.

Long Strange Trip by Charlotte C.

  • Recommended by Doug S Machina
  • Pairing: Drakken/Shego
  • Synopsis: After the end of "Graduation" (and the series) Drakken and Shego slowly edge their way towards a relationship, with bickering, annoying relatives, the past, and trying not to think about the future.
  • Comments: Another one that treats them as grown-ups. The dialogue is excellent.
    • As of September, 2010, the author seems to have pulled this and her other work off of ff.net. No other copies seem to be available online. :(

Alone Together by Failte. (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Alexlayer
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: When Kim and Shego find themselves trapped in an alternative dimension with only each other, they must depend on each other to survive, to return home, and to have someone to live for.
  • Comments: One of the best takes regarding growing affection becoming love between two originally straight women. The development of characters and handling of feelings in this story is really outstanding.

The Road Not Taken by apoptosis. (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Alexlayer
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Shego had to take a decision that would change her life forever and Kim's life as well. When Kim opens her eyes once more... nothing is as it ever was, and may not ever be the same again.
  • Comments: Sincerely one of the most dramatic to be found out there. The intensity is touching, and so is the portrayal of the characters, just like the tension it causes on the reader.

Redeemed By An Angel by Poetheather1. (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Set 2 years after Season 4, Dr. Drakken has finally lost it. His latest scheme is so unabashedly evil that Shego is forced to put him and his henchmen down for good, and go so far as to renounce her alias and life of crime. With Drakken's victim, a 7 year old Vietnamese girl named Tuyen, in tow, she goes to the one person she can trust to help begin setting right a world of wrongs, and perhaps hook up along the way.
  • Comments: That's no exaggeration. This portrayal of Dr. Drakken and his goons is by far the darkest this troper has seen, and Shego's reaction isn't surprising in the least. Any scene that features his actions WILL make you cringe. As for the story itself, characterization is largely accurate, with several liberties that probably wouldn't be surprising (Shego knowing several languages and being a good cook, for instance). Emotions really run the spectrum, from drama, comedy, gorn, and romance. The story seems to be very much a work in progress, as after nearly a year it's only 6 chapters in (but to be fair, it still covers plenty of story). Shego also being referred to by her real name the vast majority of the time will probably throw many readers for a loop. On the other hand, it features something that's surprisingly badass: Kim and Shego as Boondock Saints style vigilantes against the slave trade, sans the religious practices. They even call themselves the Avenging Angels (which sounds similar to the Saints), wear black fatigues and fight with dual silenced pistols. On top of that, they have the backing of a high level authority figure (Dr. Director). The only thing missing is rope.
    • Finally complete after a nearly 2 year hiatus, and 3 years after first being uploaded.

The Price Of Honor by Starving Lunatic. (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Pairing: Shego/Yori
  • Synopsis: Dr. Drakken comes to realize he's running very low on funds, and so decides to hire a ninja out of a magazine to replace his henchman staff. The ninja ends up being Yori, and Shego finds the whole idea completely absurd. At first she begrudgingly tolerates her new partner, but after seeing what Yori is capable of, and also sympathizing with her due to her background with Yamanouchi, she ends up befriending her (and ultimately dating her).
  • Comments: Now here's a shipping you never see. Lunatic ends up doing the pairing pretty well. Everyone is in character, although a somewhat darker take is given to Master Sensei (which when you think about it is fairly plausible). Yori's character is also expanded upon, where she is much more humanized than her cool and methodical incarnation from the show (especially when Kim and Ron find out who she's now working for). And if you've happened to read my above recommended fic, don't worry about Drakken. He's back to being his harmless, buffoonish self (he seems to genuinely like Yori as a member of his "evil family", and even share a love of karaoke).
    • This story also has a follow up, Evil Takes A Vacation. It takes place 1 year after The Price Of Honor, and deals with Yori's contract running out and being called back to Japan for an unknown purpose. Greatly worried it will mess up her relationship and new life, she asks Shego to go with her. Naturally, things get pretty interesting from there.

Mind, Body and Soul by Hobnobrev (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Kim has finally reached that Milestone... turning nineteen. But with trouble on the horizon for an old enemy, she may have to face some twists and confessions that will change her way of facing life... forever.
  • Comments: One of the premier Kigo fics; the one by which almost all others are measured. Has a sequel, called The Parisian Connection, that is also worth checking out, although it hasn't been updated in quite some time and looks like it might be a Dead Fic.

A Period of Silence by TempestDash (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Kim and her new lover learn how their lives have and must change in order to be with each other and discover that while they may be lovers, they don't yet 'love' each other.
  • Comments: A very well done Kigo fic that explores the pairing in a unique way. It also does a remarkable job with Shego's backstory that separates itself from the rest of the pack. Has a prequel called Fling that serves as a short introduction and is worth checking out.

The End of Tomorrow by Unleashed Reasoning (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: The end of days, the end of everything that had happened... She wouldn't have to lose the two things most precious to her.
  • Comments: Presents a very unique angle on the Kigo pairing that involves Shego and Wade hacking reality to prevent a future in which Global Justice got power hungry and took over the world after Kim's death. And that's just the beginning. Uses a first person/present tense writing style that is very difficult to do correctly, and does it well. Very much worth checking out.

Ron Stoppable, Ultimate Monkey Master by Quis Custodiet

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Ron/Shego
  • Synopsis: A terrible indiscretion splits Team Possible at the worst possible time. With no friends left, Ron Stoppable must turn to his greatest enemies in order to claim the mantle of Ultimate Monkey Master and stave off destruction of the universe.
  • Comments: Despite the pretentious-sounding title, the story lives up to its epic name. Involves a massive Time Travel gambit in which Ron, Shego and Monkey Fist are all flung back to the nineteenth century. And that's only the first half. Things really start getting crazy once they're back in the present. A very enjoyable read.

Revelations of Destiny by Lord Kellendross (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: Kim/Shego, Kim/OC
  • Synopsis: Kim can do anything, but there's a reason for that. Powerful forces have been watching her since before she was born because of it. How will Kim's life be affected when those forces begin entering it directly? And where does Shego fit into all of it?
  • Comments: Doorstopper length story that examines what fundamental changes Kim would have to go through to make a Kigo pairing plausible. Notable for taking well over sixty very long and dense chapters to get to any actual sex between the two of them, though it does feature several explicit scenes between Kim and a character of the author's creation long before that. Highly recommended.

Morning, Pumpkin by Moniter (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Standard, KP plotline. Drakken invents something, and it blows up in his face. BUT WAIT! There's more!
  • Comments: A very offbeat humor fic that's just plausible enough (by the standards of the KP universe anyway) to avoid falling into Crack Fic. Has an unusually self-aware narrative and is guaranteed to make you laugh.

A Few New Tricks by immo (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairings: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Shego comes back after disappearing for 3 years. Where did she go? And what did she do during that time? Kim is determined to find out!
  • Comments: Believe it or not, this is a crossover with the Chinese folk tale Madame White Snake. It's masterfully done, too, and it's notable for not trying to soften Shego up like most stories of this sort tend to do. She's stubborn and angry, but Kim manages to work her way into her heart nonetheless. Has a sequel, called The Twelve, that is worth checking out as well.

Frequency of Evil by weirdbard

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Kim/Ron/Shego
  • Synopsis: Dr. Drakken decides if he can't finish of Kim Possible and her sidekick by himself he'll outsource the job to someone, or something else. But he may find that evil you can summon may not be evil you can command or control.
  • Comments: A crossover between KP and various horror franchises. The first story features the cenobites from Hellraiser, while subsequent stories bring in Evil Dead, Friday the 13 th, Nightmare On Elm Street, and The Grudge. The sequels are Trio, Dream Team and The Lusting. Notable for presenting the Kim/Ron/Shego threesome very believably, even if the author struggles to capture their voices sometimes. The series is still magnificently written, though, and makes for one hell of a read.

An Unacceptable Sitch by Allaine (femmeslash)

A Small Possibility by NoDrogs (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Shego leaves Drakken after discovering what his latest plan has done to Kim.
  • Comments: The story that provided the most commonly accepted Fanon name for Kim and Shego's kids, Kasy and Sheki? This is it. That alone is enough to earn it a place here.

All I Really Want by Blackbird (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Kim/Ron, Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: When the person you want the most wants nothing at all to do with you, what do you do then? This the question Shego finds herself facing and the answer surprises even herself.
  • Comments: A very entertaining Cloning Blues story that examines what would happen if Shego fell in love with Kim but the teen heroine didn't return it (Kim calls her out quite viciously, in fact). One of the only "Kim turns evil" fics that remembers that the KP universe's version of evil isn't that hardcore. No shortage of angst, though.

The Blade & the Bloom by NMR68

  • Recommended by Beeftony
  • Pairing: Ron/Shego, Kim/OC
  • Synopsis: An ancient prophecy leaves Ron and KP facing some hard truths. Shego finds herself in a real sitch while some new faces and old stories come to light. Swords, guns, sex, violence and naked skydiving. What more do you want?
  • Comments: One of the few Rongo stories that treats Kim with respect. She's not portrayed as a jealous harpy or an uncaring bitch, but someone who doesn't fully appreciate the assistance of those around her (something that the show itself hinted at). Also notable for letting Ron mature without losing his essential Ron-ness, and giving Shego a valid reason to fall in love with him. The OCs are well written and enjoyable, and the battles totally kick ass. Very entertaining from beginning to end.

Tangled Up In Green by Poetheather1 (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Pairing: Kim/Shego
  • Synopsis: Drakken has done it this time and Shego has quit. However, the villain has to confront the one person she wanted to avoid, Kim Possible. Will even Kim listen to what she has to say, and where will they go from there.
  • Comments: Another "Kigo Kid" fic, but still manages to remain unique. Kim is the pregnant one, and Shego decides to train her in new martial arts (namely escrima sticks and knives) to compensate for her reduced mobility. After an assassination attempt (a surprisingly violent one), they hire a bodyguard to help keep her safe, Abigail "Abby" Normal, who eventually begins to fit in like a family member. As for the villain, I'll just say you won't and will be surprised at the same time; Respectively, the motivation and acts committed.
    • Has an in progress sequel, Summertime Blues, set four years after TUIG where Kim, Shego, their daughter, and Abby go on a world spanning vacation after Kim graduates from college. Needless to say, it's an eventful one. But be warned: Heather is a very slow updater. Be prepared to wait at least a month or two between them.
    • This story is now complete, but the comment about the slow updating firmly stands.

Evil Divine by PoisonousAngel

  • Recommended by Steve MB
  • Pairing: Drakken/Shego, Kim/Ron subplot
  • Synopsis: The story starts with an alternate ending to "Stop Team Go" in which Shego is not restored to her old self, and proceeds to follow the repercussions to Kim, Ron, Drakken, and Shego herself.
  • Comments: The story neatly addresses the obvious question of why Drakken can't simply get hold of another Attitudinator, and follows his realization of how badly he needs Shego back and his efforts to make it happen. Emotionally intense, with one rather dark subplot, as Shego is pursued (both externally and within her own mind) by her old life.

Not Another DeathFic by Galaxy1001D

  • Recommended by White Bear
  • Pairing: Take your pick. Any pick.
  • Synopsis: Kim, Ron, and Wade realize they are in the perfect set-up for a Death Fic and try to change the story into a shipping fic, with unexpected results.
  • Comments: If Death Fics depress you, or if there any pairing cliches, or just plain cliches that just bug you, then this is the story for you, filled with many hilarious moments (although the ultimate Crowning Moment of Funny may vary from reader to reader, again depending on what just bugs you) and a slight Deconstruction Fic for one of the pairings. As for the ultimate Genre Shift the story takes at the very end...well, read for yourself.

The Secret Ingredient by Doofus Prime (femmeslash)

  • Recommended by Dragonicia
  • Pairings: Kim/Monique, Drakken/Hank Perkins, later Ron/Shego
  • Synopsis: Team Possible is no more. Kim has a new flame at Upperton U while Ron is still working at Smarty Mart. When Wade calls with news of an old foe up to familiar tricks, they must ask themselves if the past is worth moving past.
  • Comments: Very rarely do authors adventure out of the usual K/R and Kigo fanfare. When they do, it’s mostly to dip their toe in the alternate shipping pool to see how it’s like. Doofus Prime is one of the few that bounces all over the shipping map, not really settling on any specific ship. This story is one of his latest KP stories and is of extremely high quality, with real tension in the various relationships (especially Monique worrying about Kim and Ron being friends again and the struggle it is to forgive the past). While it has a bit of a straggling ending, the author has said that he has a sequel planned for the story though he is unsure if he will even write it due to a low reader interest.

Across The Stars by Mahler Avatar

  • Recommended by bookwormgal
  • Pairings: Ron/Kim, Drakken/Shego
  • Summary:When Ron and Dr. Drakken are kidnapped by the Lorwardians, Kim forms an unusual alliance to rescue them from beyond the stars. Epic Adventure/Drama/Sci-Fi/Romance set immediately after Graduation.
  • Comments: A extremely well-written fanfiction that covers events after the finale, has a firm understanding of the characters' personalities, and more one-shot characters and event call-backs than you could possibly imagine. It has a strong storyline that explores some of the characters' pasts while focusing on current events of the tale, balancing the changing relationships after the events of the finale with the new threat looming ahead, and somehow everything works. A fun and exciting story for anyone who wants to see some familiar faces and watch as our world-saving teen (and team) take things intergalactic. There is now a sequel, Between The Stars, in progress as well.

That Was You by Seriadne

  • Recommended by Meat Wisdom
  • Pairings: Kim/Shego
  • Summary: Kim must relive her darkest memory, but this time she has someone to share her pain - someone who understands how she feels. Looking into the mystery of who ruined their lives, they find out that it goes deeper than they ever thought.
  • Comments: A Hurt/Comfort/Romance story that features rape as its centerpiece. Three years before the story, a 15 year old Kim and 22 year old Shego are simultaneously raped (in separate beds but in the same room) by a mysterious man calling himself "E," though neither realize this until a chance encounter later. When circumstances make them realize "that was you" in the other bed, the two become closer than ever, as though they are the only people in the world they can trust. They shortly after enlist the help of Ron, Wade, and Monique to finally track down the man who ruined their lives, but as is tradition with these types of things, it's not so simple. Plenty of tearjerkers, heartwarmers, and a light dusting of romance (consensual and otherwise) are to be had in this one.
