Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • An evil wraith that drives people to hopelessness and wanting to kill themselves tries to do the same to Lute. The wraith proceeds to hit Lute with all sorts of harsh truth about himself, trying to make Lute feel the slightest amount of worthlessness. Instead, Lute manages to turn the tables and makes the WRAITH feel so worthless it kills itself!
    • The manner in which he does this even is considered a CMOA for Lute In-Universe, with the soldiers of Boan amazed as Lute manages to stare down a being that killed everyone else who looked at and forced it to commit suicide, and his display of brass just enhances his reputation as a Badass in their eyes.
  • Shamsiel taking on a room full of berserk ghouls by herself (including one that tried to frame her for multiple murders). She managed to hold them off in order to protect everyone present, not JUST herself or Lute. She even protects the Cardinals (one of whom had been giving her a very hard time up till then). She declares "I won't let ANYBODY die!" As the battle continues, Motaire tries to get Shamsiel to take Lute and escape, but she refuses. She tells him "NO! Everyone will die (if I do)!" Quite a queenly thing to say/do for one's subjects, huh?
  • Saint Reaper's appearances: Each time he shows up the mood automatically shifts to epic. Special epic choir music, fog, lights dim, balls of light scatter across the screen, and he makes EVERYONE except for Lute and maybe Shamsiel freak out.
    • Lute gets special mention when it comes to these instances, because anyone else who so much as opens the Pandora Box that Saint Reaper resides in, their soul will be consumed by Reaper. However, Lute actually manages to have 2 calm conversations with him, and both actually work out for his benefit: Getting Reaper to appear and NOT kill you on sight is considered a miracle that makes you a Saint. Getting Reaper to appear, not kill you on sight, and even get him to do something FOR you? That's like being a saint times 40.
    • The first time Lute opens Pandora's Box, Saint Reaper starts asking to know who it was that disturbed his slumber by opening the box. Everyone panics and denies it was them. This leads to Reaper getting annoyed, but then Lute admits it was him. Immediately, Emeralia steps forward and tries to cover for Lute by saying it was HER. Lute tells her to stand down, since to actually really WAS him, but... Try to understand what Emeralia just did. She was willing to take the fall for Lute in a manner that very well could have been a Fate Worse Than Death with her soul being taken from her and devoured if it meant keeping Lute safe. Her love and devotion to Lute is THAT deep. Of course, Lute turns it right back by stepping up and clarifying to Reaper that it WAS truly he who opened the box. (Lute wasn't about to let anyone take the fall for him.)
  • Building on what was said about Emeralia, she has several other moments where she shows unyielding loyalty, love, and devotion to Lute. Such as during the attack by the Golem, Gladys told her to leave along with the rest since she was useless in battle. Emeralia refuses to leave Lute's side no matter what.
  • When Lute, Gladys, Shamsiel, and Motaire reach Fronce, Count Roche comes to visit them first. And he tells King Lute I... TO HIS FACE... That he should abdicate the throne and put Gladys on the throne. That's quite a bold thing to tell a king to step down from the throne, straight to his face. Roche goes on to say that Lute wasn't worthy of ruling and that Gladys would be far better to have in charge. Gladys hears this and immediately gets PISSED that Roche would berate her man like that, and she even threatens to cleave his skull if he didn't shut up about it. Lute meanwhile, doesn't let it get to him and just brushes it off. He then asks Roche a rather bold question: Whose boobs are bigger? Roxanne or Queen Aphrodia? Roche gets mad and leaves. It turns out however, that Lute was asking him seriously, because they had gifts for the Queen and he wanted to be sure they got the sizes right.
