Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Don't be fooled by the Fanservice, there's still some moments that'll tug at the ol' heartstrings.

  • Several times in the story, Gladys overhears soldiers talking about rumors regarding her. Mostly that she'll likely always remain as a General, instead of King Lute ever taking her as a bride. Each time she overhears these kinds of conversations, it bothers her a little more. Eventually it comes to a boiling point when Lute declares that he would NOT be taking her with him to Fronce for his diplomatic negotiations, which everyone knew was definitely a trap to lure Lute to his possible death. Gladys chases Lute down and confronts him about his reasons for not taking her along. She questions if it were because he wasn't satisfied by her and that she wasn't good enough for him. She goes on to ask if the reason he won't marry her is because she was a former rebel leader (or that she was bad in bed). Gladys is clearly shaken up by this... Until Lute points out that the rumors of him not ever marrying her were likely started BY Marquis Cuvier's men in order to purposely drive the two of them apart. Gladys realizes Lute's point, and then Lute explained that there was most likely a leak of information from someone in the palace, and that he WAS indeed going to bring her along to Fronce, but he'd need to do it in secret to have the upper hand, hence he had made a spectacle of telling her to stay. Lute further clarifies that he would indeed marry her, and they'd have the ceremony as soon as they returned from Fronce. After that they have make-up sex, and Gladys' tears go from sad to blissful.
  • One of THE most impactful scenes in this entire story involves Shamsiel. There was a series of incidents occurring that made people start to question trusting Shamsiel: The Ghoul incident in Boan, the appearance of a fake succubus in Bustenhalter and then Vunderbalt, and then a very vicious attack by an impostor that looked exactly like the real Shamsiel that ended up killing several soldiers in Bustenhalter. Each time this happens, pressure gets put on Shamsiel, but thankfully they manage to easily prove her innocence each time... Except for the last time: When Lute, Shamsiel, and the others return from Vunderbalt to Bustenhalter the day after the impostor Shamsiel's attack, the soldiers try to kill Shamsiel on-sight. Despite the generals and others vouching for her, the soldiers refuse to listen, and charge toward Shamsiel, but stop at the last second. Why? Lute threw himself between them and her, and they almost kill him on the spot by mistake had they not stopped at the very last second (the spears actually poke into his clothes). Lute manages to finally calm the soldiers down and convince them to leave the matter to him. They stand down and leave Shamsiel alone. Later on, everyone is discussing what just happened. Lute says that if Schlamm and Zant said the attacker looked just like Shamsiel then it had to have looked like her. Shamsiel approaches Lute in tears claiming her innocence (one could easily read Lute's belief in Schlamm and Zant's testimony to make Shamsiel think he suspected her too, which is pretty heartbreaking for her). Lute tells her that he believed her, and holds her in his arms. She starts trembling. This is one of the very few times Shamsiel has ever shown this level of fear and sadness, but it wasn't necessarily HER safety that she was worried about. The last time was when she was blaming herself for Lute's false imprisonment and near-execution in the previous game. Lute is the most important person in the world to her, and the thought of losing him or him turning against her is more than she can take. She then starts to tell Lute that perhaps they should divorce, she didn't want to cause him any more trouble, and that she would be content to go back to living in Boan if he came and visited her now and then. Lute pulls her closer and tells her that no matter what anyone says, she would ALWAYS be his queen. She tearfully embraces him again as he consoles her...
  • Queen Aphrodia's relationship with Lute. It starts out same as everyone else: She meets Lute, but initially thinks he's a plain-looking, perverted idiot. Overtime, he demonstrates his true abilities as a ruler and as a person, even going as far as saving her life at one point from a giant cyclops that was seconds away from pummeling her into blood pudding. Lute doesn't even flinch, and even plays games with the cyclops, much to everyone's astonishment. That night, she invites him to dine and sleep with her (Which he does), and by the end, she tells him that she wishes she could marry him and have his children... Except, the issue with that is that if they WERE to marry, it would mean that instead of their 2 kingdoms becoming allies, Edelland would end up becoming a part of Fronce instead, losing its sovereignty, and if they were to have children it would mean the same, because their child would more likely be forced to sit on the throne of Fronce instead of Edelland, so they can't officially be together in those ways. Having said that, while she can't officially become his wife, she DOES become a part of Lute's harem as a "mistress", which she honestly enjoys almost as much as if she were his wife.
