Lethal Joke Character/Playing With

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Basic Trope: A Joke Character has a certain way to use him/her to make them effective.

  • Played Straight: When Bob, Alice, Charlie, Emily, and Dave get the King Doll Mon, it's completely useless. However, when it gets to low power, it uses Meteor Crash, and becomes an Infinity+1 Sword.
  • Exaggerated: The King Doll does 1 damage and dies in 1 hit. If it defeats an enemy, you get the King's Ring, which will make it incredibly strong and it uses Meteor Crash constantly.
  • Downplayed: All you need is the King's Ring and it'll become a Game Breaker.
  • Inverted: The King Doll is a Crutch Character given by the king to his son Prince Bob.
  • Justified: It Was a Gift, but it needed to be weak with a gimmick of being strong.
  • Subverted: It becomes weak after one use of Meteor Crash.
  • Double Subverted: Until the end of the battle, because Meteor Crash beefs the King Doll up again.
  • Parodied: No villain will strike it because it'll come out with Meteor Crash.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Useless characters stay useless.
  • Enforced: The programmers wanted to reward really devoted players with an easily dismissed powerful character that takes time to master.
  • Lampshaded: "Look who's laughing now."
  • Invoked: The King Doll plays up its weaknesses so that no one will suspect its lethality.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
