Lust Grimm

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Lust Grimm is a H-game released by developer 62studio in 2017. It is the first game released by the group.

It follows the story of Magrut, a boy who is suddenly drawn into a strange, fantastical world. This world is populated by human men, talking animals... and succubi. Any man who strays from the safety of a settlement risks being caught and raped to death. This fate will happen to Magrut, too, if he isn't careful... or if he can't resist the temptations of the succubi.

But there's a spot of light in the darkness. Magrut finds the cover of a picture book, minus the pages. It's rumored that, by finding all of the pages, he will be able to return to the original world.

You can find out more about this and other games by 62studio on the wiki.

Lust Grimm was successful enough to lead to several other games:

  • Lust Friend, a direct sequel, which has its own page.
  • Cow Girl Ending, a short minigame depicting an alternate universe in which Magrut lost to the Cow Girl and became her slave.
  • Lust Memory, another short minigame that, unusually for such games, features a female protagonist in Chloe.
  • Lust Grimm Again, a remake of the first game with updated artwork and a slightly new combat system, as well as subtle changes to the story here and there...
Tropes used in Lust Grimm include:
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Little Red Riding Hood was an innocent little girl in her original story. Here, she's an incredibly busty succubus like everyone else.
  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: The village of Back Cover is invaded by the succubi towards the end of the game.
  • Always Check Behind the Chair: If you don't want to miss anything, you'll need to check crates, barrels, cupboards, trees, stumps of trees, bushes, empty patches of dirt...
  • Baleful Polymorph: Any woman who is drawn into the book is transformed into a succubus. Any man who is raped and completely drained by a succubus is transformed into a Talking Animal or some other supernatural creature. In both cases they lose their memory of their former lives.
  • Battle Strip: You can do this with the Undress skill, and enemies automatically strip if reduced to half health or below. This results in the Undress status effect, as noted under Full-Frontal Assault.
  • Big Bad: Rotkappchen initially seems to be this, but it's eventually revealed that she was actually being manipulated by Lust Reaper, the real Big Bad. Lust Reaper also plays this role in Lust Memory.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Rotkappchen is the original German name for Little Red Riding Hood.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The True End. You and everyone else trapped in the book are freed, but this means that you and Rotkappchen will never meet again.
  • Blob Monster: Slimes, notable for having low HP but being resistant to all elements.
  • Boss Game: Cow Girl Ending and Lust Memory are two different types of this:
    • Cow Girl Ending is Type 2. The only thing you can really do is challenge the Cow Girl and attempt to escape her. A later patch added a second boss, the Succubus Dancer, who becomes available after you get the True End.
    • Lust Memory is Type 1, with six bosses plus a seventh who becomes available depending on your performance. There are puzzle segments in between the bosses in which the goal is to avoid getting your levels drained (something that affects the difficulty of the boss battles).
  • Broken Bridge: A literal example can be found south of Harmonia Town, requiring you to get a craftsman to fix it.
  • Buxom Is Better: This trope could easily be an alternate name for the game. Every enemy—with one exception, the Nekomata—has breasts that are as large or larger than her head. Said breasts are also usually the emphasis of the sex scenes. In Lust Memory this even applies to the human Chloe, who is as big as most of the succubi she encounters.
  • Chest Monster: The Mimic, naturally. While most of them appear instead of normal chests, one location has Mimics as normal roaming enemies.
  • Critical Hit: They're called "OverLust Hits" instead.
  • Cosmetic Award: There are achievements for all kinds of things (e.g. fighting an enemy for the first time, losing to an enemy for the first time). Some of them subvert this trope by giving stat boosts when obtained.
  • Cute Monster Girl: They make up the entirety of enemies. While all of them are technically succubi, they include types normally used for non-succubus monster girls, e.g. alraunes and mermaids.
  • Depraved Bisexual: The succubi are mostly shown going after men, but Lust Memory shows that they have no problems with raping women as well.
  • Difficulty Levels: There are four: Easy, Normal, Hard, Sadistic. Higher difficulties have more powerful enemies but enemies also drop items more often. Difficulty can be changed at any time during the game using an item. There's also Comfy Mode, a special difficulty that can be activated using an orb outside the starting house. Choosing this locks you into Easy difficulty and gives you an inventory full of powerful items, including the most powerful weapon in the game.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Several status ailments are this and these are occasionally inflicted by an enemy assuming a sexy pose.
  • Door to Before: When you reach the end of each dungeon, you can return to the entrance by riding a talking Courier Horse. Said horse will now also appear at the entrance to the dungeon, allowing two-way quick transport.
  • Down the Drain: The Underground Waterway, inhabited by slimes.
  • Early Game Hell: On higher difficulties, the early parts of the game will be a tedious grind. You'll have to use items in more or less every battle just to stay alive, until you've gained enough levels. It gets much easier once you have a level advantage and more skills.
  • Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: An unusual variant, fitting the nature of the game. The elements are body parts of enemies: Hand, Foot, Mouth, Chest, Ass, Pussy and Tentacle. Each enemy is vulnerable to and/or resists damage dealt to particular parts of their body (hands and feet aren't targeted by any of your attacks), conversely, their attacks use specific body parts. Certain status effects affect elemental resistances.
  • Eleventh-Hour Superpower: In the final boss battle, Rotkappchen gives you powerful buffs and an extremely powerful skill, and also debuffs your opponent.
  • Enemy Scan: The very useful Observe skill, allowing you to view an enemy's stats, elemental weaknesses and resistances, drops, special abilities and profile.
  • Exclusively Evil: The succubi subvert this; while they make up all of the enemies, there are also a number of friendly succubus NPCs, including some that live in human towns.
  • Fountain of Youth: If you lose to her in her first fight, Rotkappchen shrinks you into a baby so that she can take care of you for eternity.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Being naked is an actual status effect ("Undress"), increasing damage dealt and received and granting access to specific skills.
  • Genre Shift: Lust Grimm is a fairly conventional RPG with turn-based battles and a world map to explore. Cow Girl Ending is far more minimalistic, with the setting limited to the Cow Girl's house and the goal being to escape the Cow Girl. Lust Memory returns somewhat to Lust Grimm's formula, having world maps and turn-based battles, but adds puzzle elements with the need to avoid traps, and the pornographic elements are now yuri in nature due to the female protagonist.
  • Grappling with Grappling Rules: Enemies can put you in a Hold, which lowers your damage, prevents you from fleeing and sometimes restricts other actions as well.
  • Guide Dang It: It is very easy to end up stuck with no clue as to how to proceed. One notable example is the bridge repair quest: you need to hire a craftsman to repair the bridge. The problem is, the craftsman's house is inexplicably locked by default, and to unlock it you need to complete an unrelated quest in a completely different area.
  • Harping on About Harpies: An enemy type, which are obsessed with having children, similar to in Monster Girl Quest.
  • Healing Checkpoint: Record Keeper Fairies serve this role.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: People blow themselves up to take down the enemy on three separate occasions: Emilyn to clear the path for you to reach Back Cover, Herman to wipe out the succubus army in Back Cover, and Primary in a failed attempt to defeat Rotkappchen.
  • Horny Devils: These comprise the enemies of the game. They seek out men and kill them in the manner typical of succubi. However, some of them are friendly and won't attack.
  • Hospital Hottie: The Succubus Nurse. Aside from wearing a Stripperiffic nurse outfit, she carries around a syringe filled with aphrodisiac and won't hesitate to use it on a place where syringes should never go anywhere near.
  • Hot Teacher: Succubus Teacher, the principal of a school for succubi.
  • Improbable Weapon User: You use books as a weapon.
  • Inexplicable Treasure Chests: All over the place. They even come Color-Coded for Your Convenience: blue chests are rarer than the standard wooden or red ones and have better loot, green chests are rarer still and their contents automatically refill when you sleep/lose to an enemy/save and reload, and silver chests require Silver Keys to open and generally have the best loot.
  • Interchangeable Antimatter Keys: Played straight for Silver Keys, which are needed to unlock silver chests. Oddly enough, it's averted by the keys used to unlock doors, which remain in your inventory even though doors remain open after being unlocked.
  • Laser Guided Amnesia:
    • Men in this world, including you as the player character, are often missing portions of their memory.
    • This is also a service provided by an NPC. If you lose to an enemy, your character will remember being raped and suffer a debuff in future fights against them. The NPC erases your memory of enemies you've lost to (and, apparently, their memory of you as well), removing this debuff.
  • Level Drain:
    • Several enemies in Lust Grimm can do this, weakening you while strengthening themselves (and also restoring a small amount of HP). Notably, levels do not return after the battle ends, making these types of enemies dangerous to fight.
    • This mechanic is more prominent in Lust Memory. The succubi here attack Chloe specifically to drain her levels. Succubi roaming around the world drain one level on contact, succubi in traps drain 10 levels, and bosses can drain a level with certain attacks.
  • Little Bit Beastly: The animal-based succubi tend towards this.
  • MacGuffin Delivery Service: After you've finished collecting the missing pages of the red book, the key to escaping the game world, the succubus sisters jump in and steal it from you. This is the reason why they didn't take you out earlier in the game. On top of that, it's later revealed that the eldest of the sisters has been helping you in your quest, disguised as one of your allies.
  • Mana Meter: Two types, Stamina acts like MP in most games (consumed by most skills, replenished using items, skills or walking around) while Tension behaves differently (consumed by special skills, replenished by performing actions in battle or taking damage, depletes as you walk around).
  • The Man Behind The Man: Lust Reaper is the true villain of the game. She rewrote the story of Little Red Riding Hood, turning the titular character into a Yandere (and the apparent main villain) and drawing in people from the real world to become additional characters.
  • The Many Deaths of You: Like similar games, losing to an enemy results in them raping you to death. However, each enemy has three different variations of this, depending on how exactly you lose: there's one for losing to an enemy for the first time, one for subsequent losses, and another for surrendering. Lust Memory drops the third of these.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Certain enemies have a penchant for doing this. Their Holds constantly deplete your Stamina, reflecting you being unable to breathe, and they naturally do it in their H-scenes as well.
  • The Mole: Chloe, seemingly the only human woman in the world, is actually the succubus Manuve in disguise.
  • Most Writers Are Writers: An unusual variant in that it's the villain, Lust Reaper, who is a writer. Her entire motivation is even based around this—she enjoyed the works of humans and wanted to write a story of her own, but she had a taste for bad endings. She tried working with the Brothers Grimm but they produced renowned stories that had happy endings, which she couldn't stand. She therefore took one of the Grimm's stories (Little Red Riding Hood) and wrote an erotic fanfiction of it, resulting in the world of the game.
  • Multiple Endings:
    • Lust Grimm has four endings. The Normal End is achieved by defeating Rotkappchen for the first time. You manage to return to the real world, but notice something wrong with the book and approach it, resulting in you getting drawn back in. This does not end the game (though "Normal End" appears on the screen once it occurs) but continues into the events of the True End. The Never End occurs if you lose to the aforementioned boss. Unlike normal losses and the other endings, this is a Game Over and you must reload a previous save. The True End is achieved by continuing after the Normal End and defeating the true final boss Lust Reaper, thus freeing everyone from the book permanently. Finally, the Dead End occurs if you let Dependence reach 100. In this ending, Magrut fully gives in to the temptations of the succubi and becomes permanently trapped in the book. You can still continue, but your level is reset to 1.
    • Cow Girl Ending has two endings. If you escape the Cow Girl but lost to her at least once, Magrut cannot forget her temptations and returns (allowing you to play the game again). To get the True End, you need to escape without suffering a single loss.
    • Lust Memory has three endings. If you defeat the six bosses and haven't performed well throughout the game (something measured by your number of levels drained, number of losses and current level), Chloe can't escape the succubus world (allowing you to play again from the start). If you have performed well, you get to advance and challenge the seventh and true final boss, Lust Reaper. If you defeat her, Chloe escapes and returns to the human world. If you lose to her twice, Lust Reaper transformed Chloe into the succubus Manuve.
  • Mushroom Samba: In the Lost Forest, there's a mushroom which, if eaten, causes you to hallucinate and experience a bizarre battle with an astronaut. The astronaut is completely invincible—their only weakness is "Martian", an element which obviously doesn't exist in the game—and thus is a Hopeless Boss Fight.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Most enemies are some combination of a succubus with something else—there's even a literal pirate succubus.
  • Number of the Beast: Mimics give 666 experience on defeat, and the final boss of Lust Grimm has 66666 HP.
  • Organ Drops: Some enemies drop items specifically related to them, like Harpy Feathers or Lamia Scales.
  • Our Angels Are Different: There's the standard Angel, the Fallen Angel, and the Goddess worshipped by the Angels. The Goddess preaches giving pleasure to men, so her followers are just as lustful and sexual as the rest of the succubi.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Most of them are bipedal and slightly larger than humans, though their boss is suitably gigantic. All are friendly and most run shops.
  • Our Elves Are Better: Normal elves are one of the fantasy races encountered as friendly NPCs, while dark elves are an enemy type.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: An enemy type, with the usual seashell bra and magical voice.
  • Our Orcs Are Different: A recurring NPC who make up all of the synthesis shop owners.
  • Out-of-Character is Serious Business: Record Keeper Fairies, the game's save points, are normally carefree. The one outside the door to Rotkappchen's house speaks entirely seriously and tells you that you should save your game. The one before the final boss doesn't speak at all.
  • Out with a Bang: This happens to any man who is raped by a succubus. This is actually a lie—men who experience this instead are changed into a Talking Animal or some other fantasy being, becoming part of this world.
  • Plant Person:
    • The first boss is an alraune.
    • Flower Doctors, talking flowers, are a recurring type of NPC who cure the addiction debuff in exchange for money.
  • Plot Coupon: The missing pages of a storybook (the cover of which you find at the start). You collect these one by one after defeating bosses and gradually reassemble the book. Said book is needed to return to the real world.
  • Portal Network: Various spots in the world (marked with white circles) can have magic circles drawn on them using a Magic Stick. These portals link the starting village with another location and are the primary way of getting around quickly.
  • Preexisting Encounters: Non-boss enemies walk around on the map and most pursue the player upon seeing them (a few follow preset paths). Battle is initiated upon contact, and if you manage to run into an enemy from behind, you get a free action at the start of the battle. Additionally, all enemies have a number above their heads while on the map, which shows their relative difficulty: 1 for Mooks, 2 for enemies that are slightly tougher, 3 and 4 for enemies that are much stronger and should be avoided.
  • Playboy Bunny: The Bunny enemy. Weirdly, one of her drops is a rabbit-ear headband, suggesting that the ears aren't actually part of her.
  • Sanity Meter: There are two types, both of which are naturally sexual: Lust and Dependence
    • Lust is displayed as a percentage. It fills up when you step in an environmental hazard, when you escape from enemies, when you struggle but fail to escape from a hold, and occasionally when you're attacked. The higher the Lust value, the more damage you take in battle, and the lower the chances of you successfully escaping battle or escaping holds. It can be reduced by using certain items, paying a certain NPC, or by losing a battle (the latter two reset it to 0).
    • Dependence ranges from 1-100, and only increases when you lose to an enemy. It is much harder to lower than Lust: the aforementioned NPC will decrease it by 1 whenever you use their service, and using a Grimm Potion at one specific location will bring it back to 0. Reaching 100 Dependence results in a Nonstandard Game Over.
  • Sexy Santa Dress: Succubus Santa, naturally, wears this.
  • Shifting Sand Land: The Aruba Desert, a massive desert which is the only large empty area in the game. The left and right edge of the map are connected, so if you head in one of these two directions you'll end up where you started.
  • Shock and Awe: The Lust Spark skill, which does no damage but inflicts paralysis for a few turns.
  • Shout-Out:
    • A man near the Succubus House mentions that he used to be an adventurer like you, before he took a spear to the knee.
    • The Bikini Succubus' drop, Bikini Succubus' Straw Hat, mentions in its description that it won't let you become a Pirate King by wearing it.
    • To get to the Animal Forest, you need to pass through a series of rooms with exits at the top, left, right and bottom of the screen. Three exits in a room will lead you elsewhere, only one takes you in the right direction. The correct sequence of exits? Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right.
    • A house in the Animal Forest has three of everything: a table with three chairs, three cupboards, three beds, and three stuffed bears.
  • Sidetracked by the Gold Saucer: There are a number of minigames to get lost in, like the slots and card games in the casino, or the obstacle race on horseback.
  • Talking Animal: Ubiquitous. The very first person you meet is Primary, a chicken. These, along with the talking plants and other fantasy creatures, used to be human men but transformed into their current states as a result of being raped by succubi.
  • Time Limit Boss: In her first battle, Rotkappchen must be defeated in 13 turns or she'll use an instant death attack.
  • Title Drop: There's an enemy skill outright called "Lust Grimm".
  • Took a Shortcut: Whenever you visit any area, you can be sure of finding NPCs ahead of you, even if it's a dungeon that you just unlocked.
  • True Final Boss: Lust Reaper, who appears only after you've defeated Rotkappchen twice. You still need to go through the final dungeon before fighting her personally.
  • Unscaled Merfolk: A Scylla serves as a boss, and is notable for being the only succubus who physically eats the player after raping them.
  • Walking Swimsuit Scene: Two types of succubus who wear a school swimsuit and a bikini, respectively.
  • Was Once a Man: Almost every person in the game world was once a human from another world. Most of the succubi were women and transformed upon entering the game world. The talking animals and such were men who were raped and completely drained by succubi.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Emilyn dresses as (what appears to be) a magical girl, despite being a man like every other human trapped in the game world. He's actually Ludwig Emil Grimm, the youngest of the Grimm brothers, and his outfit is to avoid drawing suspicion.
  • Yandere: Rotkappchen, the Big Bad of the game, is this to the player character. Because he (unlike all the other children) never threw away her book, she fell wildly in love with him and eventually managed to draw him into the book. Except that this turns out to be a lie: while the love part is true, she was rewritten by Lust Reaper, the real Big Bad, into acting this way.
  • You're Drinking Breast Milk:
    • Several enemies make you do this in battle and in their rape scenes, the Cow Girl being a notable example.
    • There is a Cow Girl NPC who provides this service. It fully restores your stamina at the expense of massively increasing your Lust, potentially causing it to exceed 100% and give you a debuff.
    • You can do this intentionally with a particular special skill, which does Scratch Damage and replenishes your stamina.
  • Yuri Genre: Lust Memory falls into this, unlike the other games. Its protagonist Chloe might be female, but that doesn't stop the succubi from attacking her.
