Don and Betty are called in by Suzanne because Sally hasn't been reacting well to her grandfather's death, starting fights and raising questions about the recent death of civil rights activist Medgar Evers. Suzanne later calls Don, apologizing because she had a similar experience at Sally's age, though it's obvious she's interested in him. Then Betty goes into labor, resulting in a bad acid trip and a baby boy. Eugene, after his grandfather.

Meanwhile, Duck Phillips is trying to poach Peggy for Grey, which she uses as leverage to get a raise. She doesn't get one; the company is already being downsized. And Pete has evidence to conclude that black people disproportionately buy Admiral TV sets. The Admiral executives don't want to be seen as a "negro company." Pete is taken off the account and his actions denounced by Roger and Coop, but Lane Pryce sees an opportunity in reaching out to that market.
